Excellent hotel on a road trip.
The best hotel I've stayed at...especially on a road trip and they accept pets! Loved it here...the food, the room, the cleanliness, the hospitality...it was great! After a long day, needed to relax and the next day, felt refreshed to continue the long drive ahead.

Unexpected upscale in a tiny, remote town
It was a nice stay in a nice hotel in a cute little town. Good to have an upscale hotel in an out-of-the-way village. But my sub-5 ratings are because: )1 the base of the toilet was dirty with orange-tinted filth in one spot, a too-quick job by your housekeepers; and 2) there was no "service" to rate other than an awkward young man who checked us in, but making us think it was his first time doing so. That's it.

Mt. Rushmore trip
This hotel hit the spot after a 3 hour drive from Colorado on our way to Mt. Rushmore. Clean, quiet and close to good eats and gas station.

We had a king suite so it was very spacious. Appreciated the cleanliness. Nice complimentary breakfast each morning. Convenient to put our kayaks in on the N Platte river and for meeting our friends who brought their boat, at Guernsey Reservoir. Dog friendly is always a plus for us!

This room is CLEAN, we went to a nearby steakhouse for dinner that was delicious, came back, grabbed a cup of coffee from the hotel (which was hot and they offered flavored syrup and cream), walked across the road to a park bench right down by the river, sat and listened to the water flow by and the crickets chirp. The bed has soft linens that are bright white and you just sink right into it.

It is beautiful in the morning but also great in the evening when the temperature is warmer. You can get some relief from the sun under the shade of the trees, while you can feel the cool breeze off the river. The young man at night was great. He was an asset. We are 66 and had to lug our suitcases up because there wasn’t an elevator. The shower head could only go on “ sharp hot needle setting” without spraying the entire bathroom. The toilet didn’t work properly late that night and My husband found a plunger downstairs but it didn’t help. We get old plumbing. We have it. I told a woman with in the morning so the next guest would not have an issue. No “ sorry for your inconvenience”. Just a stare and ok. The town itself was full of nice folks.

Very clean in lobby, dining area and our room. Room was spacious and the A/C worked wonderful. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Friendly staff checking in and checking out. Parking was great, well lit. Continental Breakfast was delicious and new pot of coffee was constantly being brought out! Atmosphere was very relaxing and safe.

The bathroom door Upper hinge was not working correctly and the door would not close without lifting and forcing it. Additionally, I had a suite with TVs in both the bedroom and main room but only one remote. When I called the front desk they could not provide an additional remote.

Expedia showed this property as having a pool right on the landing page. Got there and found out they had no pool at all after leaving an event to take our son to swim Very expensive room for what it was. Breakfast was disappointing coffee was all empty and no one appeared to be taking care of the area. Would not stay here again for the price.

The front desk clerk, Jaden, was very helpful. Especially telling us about the state park just across the Platte river from hotel. Breakfast was hot and room comfortable and quiet. The park had a very unique stretch of BNSF railroad lines 2 tunnels and a giant cut with a bridge for photo ops of passing freight.

Being the only place to stay in Guernsey, it was a pleasant surprise. Just note, no elevators so if carrying heavy luggage or if hard to go up stairs, request the first floor. The view of the river was nice.
