Wonderful place. Our cottage was magnificent, spacious and comfy. The in-house pub serves good food. The staff is very nice and very helpful

Nice, central location. Clean room and a bed with a good mattress. Only minus comes from the room not being ready at 2pm (as promised on website) and the toilet paper wasn’t replenished during our stay (3 nights).

It’s a lovely little hotel with very nice modern and comfortable rooms. Spotless. Staff are very friendly and the food is good. Few quirks like the spiral concrete external steps up to the first floor, but wasn’t an issue for me.

The Duke of Normandie was perfect for my trip - in town but just off the main shopping area and close to bus routes. Very comfortable and clean room, great food in the restaurant, breakfast (always important in my opinion) was excellent and freshly cooked. A perfect base for visiting friends and family.

Lovely hotel, tucked away in a quiet area but less than a 60 second walk to the main shops. Loads of great restaurants close by, and the staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them to be. A Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch. TV could've been a bit bigger, the room was quite big which meant the the tv was difficult to see if you're trying to read off it. There for 2 nights and the bed was really comfortable, great sleep! Would recommend to anybody.

Hidden away and in a quiet back street but handy to absolutely everything. Great hotel and exceptional staff who were so warm and friendly - they definitely made our stay very enjoyable.

It’s an older hotel but they are remodeling it nicely. The staff was very nice and helpful At at The Pickled Pig several times and food was delicious!

Lovely room, better than I had expected. Would have rated it excellent (5/5) except that it lacked two things which bug me -- no shampoo and conditioner provided at start or over the 3 days but my current measure of a very good hotel is whether they provide face washers. They did not which was an irritation. COVID is over if that was ever a reason for no face washers.

My partner and I stayed at the Duke of Normandie Hotel between 3rd March 23 - 6th March 23. We were greeted by reception staff who checked us in and informed us about breakfast times and dining in the restaurant. We had booked early for the restaurant ( The Pickled Pig ) prior to our stay to avoid disappointment. Our room was an exclusive room ( room 45 ) which is situated in the court yard on the 1st floor. These are accessed via a spiral staircase so it would be unsuitable for less abled persons. The room was a bit smaller than we had hoped for but it was nice and clean and had a nice tiled bathroom and walk in shower. We had the King size bed which came with a very warm feather duvet cover. Inside the room there was free Tea and Coffee , including a Nespresso machine and a flat screen TV which had a selection of UK freeview channels. The only issue we had with the room was a bit of black mould, which appeared to get worse during our stay. This was on the ceiling above the door, but it was probably due to condensation caused by the shower or there are issues with the roof. * to note, there is building works going on at the location. Food in the Pickled Pig was lovely, and so was the breakfast. Staff couldn't have been any nicer and they made our stay that little bit more enjoyable. To note, the car park entrance is a little tight if you have a larger vehicle SUV etc. We will definitely be staying again. Highly recommended.
