My partner and I stayed at the Duke of Normandie Hotel between 3rd March 23 - 6th March 23.
We were greeted by reception staff who checked us in and informed us about breakfast times and dining in the restaurant.
We had booked early for the restaurant ( The Pickled Pig ) prior to our stay to avoid disappointment.
Our room was an exclusive room ( room 45 ) which is situated in the court yard on the 1st floor. These are accessed via a spiral staircase so it would be unsuitable for less abled persons.
The room was a bit smaller than we had hoped for but it was nice and clean and had a nice tiled bathroom and walk in shower. We had the King size bed which came with a very warm feather duvet cover.
Inside the room there was free Tea and Coffee , including a Nespresso machine and a flat screen TV which had a selection of UK freeview channels.
The only issue we had with the room was a bit of black mould, which appeared to get worse during our stay. This was on the ceiling above the door, but it was probably due to condensation caused by the shower or there are issues with the roof. * to note, there is building works going on at the location.
Food in the Pickled Pig was lovely, and so was the breakfast.
Staff couldn't have been any nicer and they made our stay that little bit more enjoyable.
To note, the car park entrance is a little tight if you have a larger vehicle SUV etc.
We will definitely be staying again. Highly recommended.
