Great stay at the Hager House!!!
I had a wonderful stay at the Hagar House! The four stars are a testament to the overall positive experience. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was fantastic, with great views of the river. The host was responsive and accommodating, making check-in and check-out a breeze. During our stay, we had the delightful company of the host's charming 5-year-old lab, Rosey, which was an added bonus while we savored the scenic view. The only factor that prevented me from awarding a flawless five-star rating was the fact that this is a downstairs apartment with the host residing above, and there were occasional sounds that carried through from their living space. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the area and would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Hager House. The rooms were very comfortable and the scenery along the river was beautiful. Our golden doodle was with us. He had plenty of room to stretch his legs and made friends with our host’s dog Rosie. We found Hager House convenient, relaxing and peaceful!

Nice to be out of the city. Enjoyed our visits from Roses so friendly and just adorable. Beautiful landscaping with lovely views of the water. All the necessities we hoped for were present. A comfortable space to visit with family and friends. Just a short drive to downtown Red Wing as well.

Very Nice
Very large basement all to yourself, walk out, roomy…clean, comfy beds. Quiet. Great location if you are fishing the Mississippi in that area. If you have a boat it’s a little difficult pulling into and turning around in driveway. Had some ants in the kitchen area but otherwise it was very clean. Will be staying again on our future fishing trips.

We loved our time at the Hager House. Great location for exploring the Red Wing area. The inside was comfortable and well appointed. The outside spaces and views of the river were fantastic. We would love to stay again.

Great getaway near Red Wing
We really enjoyed our time at the Hager House. Heated floors throughout allowed for comfort on the cold mornings and we loved Rosey (yellow Labrador) dropping by in the evening to say hello. Chris was very accommodating allowing us to charge our EV overnight next to the garage. Only 5 min drive to DT Red Wing! We'd come back again!

Great River View
Very nice and spacious walkout lower level with wonderful view of the Mississippi River. Very comfortable accommodations, clean and well stocked. Enjoyed watching eagles, barges on the river and beautiful sunset. Large patio with nice landscaping. Convenient location just across the river from Red Wing and near the Great River Road. Fun weekend getaway!

Perfect for our party! Close to town but far enough out where we could enjoy the views of the river. Hosts were very accommodating and easy to get ahold of. Property was clean and well maintained. Just overall an excellent experience!

Beautiful views and great host
We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. Great hosts and of course we loved hanging out with their super friendly dog, Rosie . The only issue we ran into was finding any Ubers or Lyfts. There weren’t any rides available here or in Red Wing . So plan accordingly.

My family had a wonderful time at the Hager House. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the river. Very easy check-in and out process with accommodating hosts. We also visited Red Wing which was a fast and easy drive. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful get away!

It takes <10-minutes to get to Red Wing for groceries, dining, etc. We attended a Wedding at Willow Brooke Farm and it was under a 20-minute drive.

Fantastic, comfortable stay with beautiful views
I am originally from the area and came back to visit family with my husband and daughter. We had a fantastic stay. The Hager House is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The view is amazing - the pictures do not do it justice! The Hager House sits above the river with beautiful views of the water and surrounding trees. It's a quick 5 min drive to Red Wing, 20 min to Ellsworth, and 50 min to Mpls/St. Paul International Airport. We went for walks every day in the surrounding area, which would be great for biking too. The timing was perfect for blooming lilacs. The kitchen is well stocked (the gas grill was a bonus!) and allowed us to cook at home (we even had family over for dinner) rather than going out. We grilled and ate lunch and dinner outside, enjoying the views. The Hager House had plenty of towels, linens, and numerous board games that kept us all entertained. Chris and Lenore are gracious hosts and responded to all our questions, but also gave us plenty of privacy. Their dog Rosie is incredibly sweet and friendly. We will be back!

Lovely home in a private, natural setting
Our group of three adults had the pleasure of spending 6 days at the Hager House in mid-September, a beautiful time of year in this area. The home was clean, nicely furnished, and well-equipped. Check-in and check-out was seamless. The property was clearly maintained and it showed! The living area was very practical which was exactly what we needed. We were not there much since we were golfing Friday and Saturday but we didn't run into any issues at all. Only regret was not being able to meet Rosey the dog!

We enjoyed a great extended weekend with our family and this was a perfect spot! Chris and his wife were great hosts! Place was great. We had 7 which the place can support (it’s tight but manageable if you can handle 1 bathroom). The bathroom has a separate door on the toilet room so is manageable if one is showering or using the sink only. View from patio to river is awesome! Eagles each day! Very peaceful and quiet area to enjoy. Red Wing is a great town! Thanks Chris!!

This is a basement apartment with a million dollar view. We spent hours birdwatching on the deck, while boats and barges floated by on the river below. We saw species from bald eagles to hummingbirds during our stay. Red Wing is a short drive away. It was really nice to be close to restaurants and still feel like we were getting away from it all!

We had a great experience at the Hager House! The space was roomy, warm and had all the comforts of home, plus a few extras. The view from the deck was beautiful. This space is in the lower level of the homeowners’ residence so its not completely private, but Chris and the resident dog were very friendly and not at all intrusive. One minor drawback was that the bathroom could’ve been a little cleaner; there were a few hairs in the sink, tub and toilet areas. But overall it was very clean and comfortable and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Beautiful location, magnificent grounds. Didn't realize we would be staying in a basement, so to speak, but worked out OK. 2 bathrooms would have been more suitable for 6 people but we made it work. Couldn't understand why lights went out about 10:30pm every night in the middle of our card games. Most other amenities were fine. Thank you for your hospitality.

Chris and Lenore have an amazing place, that was perfect for our group. There was a fantastic view of the river, a fire pit, grill and plenty of room for our group of 7. Our hosts were very welcoming, especially Rosie (the resident canine) who enthusiastically joined us in tossing the football around. Overall, a truly great experience.

It was a great rental, with all the amenities, convenient location to Red Wing for shopping, Coville Park, pottery museum and more! enjoyed bicycling on the Cannon Valley Trail, and the area roads. Rosey (house dog) was a sweetheart - we all wanted to take her home with us😀. What Do You Meme? Game provided a night of laughs, and a lifetime of memories!! Thank you!!

Very Nice Cabin with great view
This lower level home is perfect for a guys fishing trip. It provides a nice kitchen with great family room, huge wrap around leather couch with great TV and Netflix, Hulu, and more. Overlooks the Mississippi and boasts nice landscaping and shade. 1 large bathroom and sleeps 4-5 people.
