Isobel's Self Contained Cottage- Dog Friendly

Isobel's is unique in Hanmer Springs as an affordable, self contained cottage. Bed linen, towels, bath mat, hand towel, and tea towels are all provided at no extra cost. Isobel's is an older style ‘kiwi bach’ we are slowly renovating. It is old but always clean and warm. If you want something fancy please book a motel or another holiday home!

Very centrally located. Walk everywhere or have a go on our tandem bicycle! 8 minutes walk to the hot pools, supermarket and shops. 2 minutes and you are in the forest.

IMPORTANT- MUST READ: A note on the toilet- the toilet is located outside of the main house, attached by verandah approx 1 metre from the front door. The toilet is fully lined with a window but is definitely a cold trip at night in the winter!

Bring your furry best friend along for your holiday (dogs only) and step out of the door straight down into the Hanmer Forest and Dog Stream walks. Dogs by prior arrangement only- please add dog request upon booking. We have a $50 per stay dog fee.

Special conditions: Dog stay rules:
-Dogs are not allowed to be left at the property unattended for long periods of time or if unhappy and/or noisy.
-Vacuum the carpets and couch before you leave
-Please no dogs on the bed
-Pick up all messes from the garden
Compulsory $50 fee for dog stays

Check in is after 2pm on day of arrival.
Check out is 11am on day of departure

No smoking

NOTE: We do not charge you a cleaning fee (unless you have a dog).

Under Kiwi Bach tradition please leave the cottage as you found it- you are expected to vacuum and do the dishes before you leave- thank you.

Autumn bliss
4 days in Isobel's cottage. My wife and I plus our fur child. Located right beside the walking and biking tracks which we came for. Snowed Sat nigh so we had some frosty mornings but beautiful clear days with that bright Autumn sun shining through the trees showing up the golds and browns of the leaves. Lovely warm and cosey cottage to come back to each day.

Isobels is in a great location - just a short walk to town for cafes, bars and the springs. All facilities as listed on the website. A bit chilly for a visit to the toilet in the middle of the night, but you are warned about that, otherwise fantastic.

Isabels Cottage
Fabulous little cottage on Scarborough Terrace, and perfect place for 6 nights. We know Hanmer well and this part of Hanmer with easy access to the forest and walks. The cottage was everything it said it would be and very liveable and loveable 👍🙏

It was a good place to come back to after exploring what Hanmer has to offer us and connecting with extended family that were staying in other bnbs. The ourdoor toilet thank goodness was by the back door. I also would have liked a washing line to dry our togs and towels on. All in all a pleasant stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at Isobel’s. Great unit, warm, clean and well equipped, and in a fantastic location. So close, but not TOO close, to everything we wanted to do in Hanmer. Extremely comfortable bed, great shower, and everything we needed for our stay. Exceptional value for money, we really hope to stay here again. Highly recommended.

Perfect location for taking your Doggy on Holiday and the Springs!!
The accommodation was much more excellent than I had anticipated with its description online... I was a little worried about the Toliet being outside, but a door away. We can't wait to return one day soon! It's a perfect location to take your Pups on walks for hours, get them tired, and then soak in the springs for just my Hubby and I. Perfection.
