    New Zealand Hotel Travel Guide

Composed of a pair of islands off the southern coast of Australia, New Zealand is a land of towering mountains, shimmering blue water, and a combination of natural beauty and enchanting cities. You can utilize New Zealand hotels on either the North or the South Island, and your experience will be unique on each one. If this is your first time booking hotels in New Zealand and traveling across this lush landscape, you may want to tour both islands to come away with a true feel for the adventurous, vibrant culture.

The first place to look for cheap hotel deals in New Zealand is near the now permanent set of Hobbiton, made famous by Peter Jackson's brilliant movies of J.R.R Tolkien's Middle Earth, which gives you a chance to walk along the same paths and streets as Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, and all of your favorite Tolkien characters. Everything in Hobbiton has been preserved exactly as it looked in the movies, from the round doors set into underground homes to the dirt pathways leading down to trees with branches swaying in the wind. You'll feel like you stepped right into the Shire.

You will also discover that New Zealand is a country where no adventure is too daunting. You can find New Zealand hotel deals near the Franz Josef glacier, which you can climb with a guide. Other New Zealand hotel packages will put you near the place where bungee jumping was born over the Kawarau Gorge; you could also jump over Queenstown, where the nighttime jumps will take your breath away as you hurdle toward the flickering lights of the city spread out below you. With these extreme adventures, New Zealand will give you a special story that you can tell for years to come.

If you just want beautiful views and the best scenic vistas for taking pictures, there are many charming little towns scattered around the feet of the majestic, snow-capped mountains. Take Kaikoura, for example, with its winding streets and smooth-stone beaches. In Kaikoura, you could also book the top tourist attraction, which is a whale watching tour. Once you get discount rates on your rooms and hotel reservations, the prices for the tour will fit easily within your budget, meaning that the cheap New Zealand hotel deal will have opened up new doors for experiences that are unlike any that you can find elsewhere in the world.

    "Hotel in really good location"
This hotel was marvellous for closeness to the viaduct, Vulcan Lane and The Chancellory. People were very friendly with good security. My only negative is they need to make the bed properly but that does make me sound petty! Would definitely recommend this place.

"Very nice hotel in good CBD location"
We spent two nights at this hotel, which was formerly called The Rendezvous and underwent a name change (not sure about ownership) a few weeks ago. It was very comfortable with a large room and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also large and well laid out. The location was in the CBD, within walking distance of the harbour and a number of good restaurants. This hotel was recommended to us by friends, We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in a basic room with minimal facilities for the kitchen and facilities (gym) need to be updated but for a short stay they were very good. Internet was speedy and staff were always helpful and greeted you whenever you walked by.

Highly Recommend. Great hotel, restaurants and staff. About a 15min drive from CBD but they provide a free shuttle to and from Queenstown so it's not an issue. We will definitely be back :)

    "Was ok...."
The venue was under construction and massive amounts of it. The water got turned off to the hotel all day on our first day there. It's quite out of the way. You need transport to get from the hotel to Queenstown. They did provide a free shuttle but it was only specific times. The water taxi service was good tho. I had booked for my partners 40th for the luxury factor and really didn't get it. It states that they have a spa and pool online which is what attracted us to it. It doesn't. They give you access to the Hilton's luxuries but you must pay for them. The staff were friendly and helpful. They knew everything about Queenstown and how it worked. So was a lil disappointed overall but it was a pleasant enough stay.

    "Old but clean"
Room and bathroom were small but spotlessly clean. A bit further from the city than I expected but still a short walk. A lot of traffic noise during the day but it was ok at night. All up excellent value for money.

    "Comfortable hotel in CBD"
This hotel is in a good location for it's proximity to the waterfront, which is lovely to walk along. Our room was ok, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a selection of pillows but none of the pillows were very comfortable, all of them seemed a little too overstuffed to be "just right". There was a frosted glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom. Not sure if the intention was to allow natural light to get into the bathroom, it seemed unnecessary. Breakfast was included at the Portlander restaurant downstairs and was excellent. The buffet breakfast was laid out in small batches and was being refreshed regularly. The selection was very good and eggs including omelettes were prepared upon request. Valet parking was $30.00 per day which seemed a liitle pricy, the valet was friendly and suggested taking a scenic coastal drive out to Seatoun which was a do not miss.
