Do not go there!
The lodge was a disappointment. Upon arrival, we discovered that our room lacked toilet paper, requiring us to request some. They do not provide water either. The pillows were dirty and smelly, and the headboard was filthy. Additionally, the toilet was missing a seat. Although they offered to change our room to a similar one, the overall service was poor; for instance, ordering French fries took more than an hour.

Parking space is very small, if two SUVs park opposite each other they will have a hard time getting out. There was no hot water the first day, and it was in winter.

Maintenance not good , no water , no electricity . Tap handles come off in your hand. Shavings from cupboard installation still in the cupboard . Dogs next door bark all night. Breakfast served through a window. onto an open dining area Inedible. Fridge hot working due to electricity failure. For the electricity and water we have put up a solar system which will help pump water from the bore hole and also be used for lighting. Am greatlfull the instalation is now complete and perfectly wotking well. Water is a problem of the past now. For the tapes we are installing new ones. We are using your comments as a bench mark of your services. We greatly apologise as the country is in a mess

Sub-Backpacker Standard without Service
Staying at Highlands Loges was a dismal experience. The photos shown online do not reflect the actually dilapidated state of the property, nor do they prepare you to find a sub-backpacker standard. The room is cramped and rather provides a fridge that stands in front of the only mirror than amenities or coffee station. Doors, Floors, Toilet and windows have been "renovated" in a rush and you cannot find a single plug in the walls. For our 4 day stay we were supposed to last with one small towel and one roll of 1-ply recycled toilet paper. The shower and bath only had cold water except for the last day and the toilet seat was visibly broken, but never fixed. No amenities whatsoever and although told there is a 24 hour reception by dialing '20', there was never an answer. The manager was never present at the premises. The remote for the gate had a flat battery and was tied to the key with a wire that cut into pockets and clothing. The internet is intermittent and so slow that one can hardly visit any website. The TV was broken and not fixed. The epitome of dissatisfaction can be found in the 'breakfast', which consist of instant coffee, milk powder, jam and margarine, toast, 1 egg and beans. No cereals, no milk, no fruit, yoghurt or anything. A rasher of bacon and a sausage cost USD 5 extra!!!! There is no service, all is placed outside on a window sill (!!). We can only warn any traveller that this a complete rip-off and the establishment should be closed down!

Its so unfortunate that by the time of your stay that is when we faced the toughest time of your operations as we faced a one week power cut do to transformer faults which affected the whole suburb. We were working tirelessly to normalise things as everything runs with electricity but we thank God that the situation has normalised now and everything is back and in working order. Will take your suggestions and improve on areas you have enlightened so that we can make the place more habitable to reach our clients expectations.

Lovely hosts
Unfortunately was not able to sty at the place because the other clients extended their stay at the time i was meant to arrive, but the couple that run the place helped me find another place to stay at no extra charge, rare type of service in Zim! Some of the rooms are under renovation but i would certainly recommend the place based on the rooms i saw!

Serene spot that fits your budget
I had planned to stay longer but had to travel after 3 days. Overall the place was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I am definitely coming back. Tip..talk to the staff and ask for recommendations on food, moving around and other local knowledge that will make your stay fun.

A lil constructive criticism
For it’s price, it was ok. Safe neighborhood.Biggest issue was room service-had to request for it. First day of check in there were dirty towels -the maid took responsibility and apologized. Overall it’s a clean space, it doesn’t seem busy so I presume beds are always made and bedding was kind of dusty. Advice for management- please let us know who is who? I found myself requesting service from the maid, Boni , gogo and the other lady who doesn’t pick up the phone.Clear chain of command would have resulted in me not blowing up everyone’s phone. Secondly “gogo” was too much in our faces ( I have nothing to hide) but what if I had a side chick or small house for the weekend and the management keeps rocking up to my veranda /door. A little bit of privacy would be nice because lodging has most of its regular customers being there for discrete intimacy etc. Generator issue , I’m Zimbabwean zesa issues part of our DNA.Lastly please put a big no. 27 Arcturus sign. Besides I’m glad I supported your booming hospitality business.
