Maui is great!
This property was great for us 3 couples! I am a stickler for cleanliness, so the only minor complaint I would have is the floors didn't seem as clean as I would have liked them.

Bit of paradise
The property is well kept up and relaxing! Perfect area for low key resort style. The place was very comfortable for a family of 6 adults. Had all the amenities we needed. Very much enjoyed bbqing most dinners by the pool and catching the sunsets.

Great Getaway for the Family
Top floor with wonderful view for sunsets and whale watching. Can sleep 8 adults, but a little crowded as those sleeping on the pull out in the living room had to share bathroom and place to keep luggage and stuff to keep out of living room. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed as well as having a washer and dryer was nice. The unit is getting a little wear with some minor things overall cleaning could be better as some items were found in the living and dining area as well as all 3 showers were showing mold. Property grounds were well maintained with pool, hot tub, putting green, and shuffle board. Beach just a few blocks away.

Our Holiday Stay
We had a wonderful two week stay. The Papakea is one of our favorite places on Maui. The unit was as advertised with a wonderful view and a perfect set up for us and our family. We would absolutely recommend this to our friends! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Great condo with fantastic ocean view
The property was well stocked and provided an excellent base for our Maui vacation. The pool was great and the view from the balcony was amazing. The condo was in good condition and clean. Beach equipment was great for us. Short walk to restaurants and shops. Amazing beaches for snorkeling and boogie boarding are just up the road.

relaxing family vacation
Our family of 7 (3 adults, 4 children ages 4-11yrs) enjoyed our stay here. The kids loved the sand toys and the closeness of the beach and pool. The kitchen was well stocked including food storage bags, and the property manager was very responsive. Make sure to keep all food sealed and put away as much as possible. There were small ants on the counters and in the bathroom in the loft, which is inevitable in Hawaii. The view from the balcony was very serene. The condo was busy and some loud noises at night could be heard from the other condo complex (not the Papakea). The actual condo was quiet.

Plenty of seating in condo for 7 if you use the well-padded kitchen chairs. Lanai had 4 chairs and a lounge chair so we had to take turns with morning coffee. Master had nice firm mattress, and two queen beds had nice softer mattresses. No complaints from the adult sleeping on the pullout sofa in the main room. All had comfortable pillows. We stayed 10 days and had plenty of towels, but not enough toilet paper. Plenty of kitchen appliances, tools and serving dishes. Awesome AC and ceiling fans in every room. Property is ocean front with rocky beach, but the property next door has a pretty nice beach that is shaded for a good part of the morning and water entry looked safe. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is very nice. Parking spaces adequate but not generous. Three negatives are dark stains in the shower bottom so looks unclean and very slow draining, the kitchen counter doesn’t allow access to dishwasher control buttons so you set it while open and then close to run, and no food storage place in the kitchen so non perishables had to live on the large counter top. It took a bit to figure out how to use the space, but I would return in a heartbeat.

Maui Wowie!!!!!
Oh my gosh, this place was amazing. The view is insane. Better view than five star hotels that I’ve stayed at. I loved the vibe of the condo. It was so relaxing. So nice to get up in the morning and not struggle to find where you’re going to get coffee and your next meal like when you stay at the big resorts. There is shopping for groceries right across the street. You’re right next to shaved ice and the ABC store. I loved staying there with my family. The location could not be beat. I almost don’t want to leave this Super good review because I don’t want anyone else to book it. Lol it was easy to check in. It was easy to park. The location is amazing. We had eight people and everybody had their own private area. The condo feels super big and spacious. Such a hidden gem of Maui. The resort grounds are beautiful and the pool was so fun you can barbecue down there every night if you want to. Thanks for having us and I definitely want to come back. I honestly didn’t want to leave :-) Owner is so nice and makes traveling to Maui so easy! Thank you!

Beautiful location and view
The ocean view from the balcony is truly lovely -- you can see both Lanai and Molokai. The location is convenient, within walking distance of a shopping plaza and to the beach. The unit comes equipped with beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and some boogie boards. Recommended.

This place has a great location and the view is spectacular. It is well appointed, very clean, and is nicely appointed. The floors in the showers are interesting and although they appear oddly, are just fine. The only complaint we would have is that the beds are not comfortable. Other than that, a really nice place to stay.

Papakea is 5 Stars
We truly loved the condo we stayed in at Papakea. We were all sad to leave, as it felt like home. The resort is beautiful and has many amenities to enjoy on property. There is also a lot to do around Maui. The activities and liesure time we enjoyed while we were there for the past 2 weeks allowed us to reconnect with our adult children. Be sure to check out the bakery in front of the resort. They have the best Cinnamon rolls. Recommendation...book early. Many people said they tried to book 2 weeks, but couldn't get the consecutive weeks. We booked over a year out and had our choice of dates.

Very relaxing - we brought the kids and their families. Both grandsons, one 3.5 yrs and 9 months, the 3.5 yr old was loving the pool and the beach. Whole family had a good time.

Amazing stay at Papakea
We enjoyed our stay at Papakea Resort. This isn't our first time to this resort but a new condo for us. We loved staying on the ocean and having the loft for the young adults was great! The condo was well equipped and we were pleasantly surprised that they had a collapsable wagon as well which was perfect for our youngest in the group (2) and getting groceries.

A wonderful stay.
A comfortable apartment big enough for a large family. The balcony is awesome and the view cannot be beat. We saw whales breaching all day long. The condo has some older features and bedroom flooring could use a refresh, but easily worth it for the great oceanfront view. The grounds and pool are nice. Kitchen has all you need and there is a closet with beach equipment. Overall we had a great stay!

Best Christmas and New Years!
We have been to Maui 6 times and this was by far the best condo we have stayed in. The view is direct oceanfront and we sat on the balcony for hours each day just enjoying the view, hearing the waves, and spotting whales. There is great snorkeling out front at low tide and you can surf off to the left. The condo had everything we needed and 3 BR and 3 BA with 4 teens was perfect! This was our first time staying at Papakea and we will definitely be back. We walked to many restaurants (loved Pizza Paradiso and their Dole Whips), the Times grocery store, and we grilled out almost every night. We also enjoyed Mai Tai Thursdays at the Lanai pool (although they were pretty strong!). We loved staying here and had the best Christmas and New Year as a family. Family Condo Right on the Beach
Plenty of room for our family, amazing view from the deck, elevator for mobility issues. We were surprised to find a rolling cart, snorkel gear, sunscreen, pool noodles and other beach items for our use, also a washer & dryer. The owner is a great communicator & helpful. Food trucks within walking distance, as well as a small grocery store. Highly recommend for a family!

Great condo
This is a great condo. Had everything we needed. I wished that their were tissues but we could not find any. Also, this condo could use a update. The refrig had this yellow stuff on the outside but the inside was clean. The bathroom shower in the master bedroom could use a better floor. It was clean but looked dirty all the time. Also, you need better pillows. All in all this place was amazing. It had everything that we needed. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Phyllis, To follow up on some of your concerns: The refrigerator (and all other kitchen appliances) were replaced the day after your stay. We were hoping for earlier, however it takes more time then expected to get large items on to the island. Also, the pillows were new, purchased just before your stay, which may explain if they were firm for your liking. Glad to hear you otherwise had a great trip.

Amazing place w/ spectacular ocean view
Amazing place with ocean view. Accommodated six adults comfortably and a fully stocked kitchen which made it great so we can prepare meals. Each room was comfortable and three bathrooms were awesome. The pool was awesome as well as the putting green. The beach to the left of our condo was also refreshing. The grounds were very well-kept. Will recommend this unit to any family or friend gathering.

So much potential, but falls short.
We've been coming to Maui for many years and we 've stayed at the Papakea several times now. The view and sound of the ocean at this unit is the best...exceptional! We watched 3 whales playing just a few hundred yards out from us. The Papakea grounds are beautiful and well maintained property. Kitchen was well set-up. The unit has so much potential but most everything is really dated and not very clean. I found a pen, hand sanitizer and a pair of underwater next to our bd rm dresser. Socks got dirty walking around the unit. 2 of the 3 mattresses were in bad shape. The dishes are not mirco safe and will burn your hands taking them out. There were no hot pads. The under cabinet lights didn't work and there are burnt out lights over head. Cooktop burner knob numbers are written on with a sharpie pen, the fridge has rust on the front, the beach chairs are rusty junk and the umbrella is broken. The chair upstairs has stuffing coming out of it. Our dishwasher was leaking into the unit below us and the big mirrored sliding doors fell off their tracks. The Manager, Dave was very on top of fixing those items! I hope the owner(s) update the place, it could be really exceptional, We won't be back to this unit until then. Too many better units at the Papakea and Maui.

Relaxing and wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the property had activities for the kids and lots of families. We sat and watched whales from the patio daily which was amazingly relaxing. We had a small electrical issue and the property manager and owner were quickly responsive and did what they could to address it. We would happily go back again!

Saw whales every morning before the coffee was done brewing. This condo was one of the few facing the water, sound of the surf ever present. Pool and BBQ grills only a few steps away. Perfect for our 3 couples, would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Christmas week vacation!
We absolutely loved staying at this condo and the Papakea property. The condo is ideally situated in the top floor with amazing views directly out over the ocean. We saw many, many whales breaching and spouting during our stay! The Papakea resort is beautiful with well maintained grounds, pool, and hot tubs. Plenty of lawn chairs at all times. The location on the coast is also ideal, with restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The condo was exactly what I expected from the description. Only thing I would mention is that the bedding is a bit dated. We were a family of two parents with three college and post-college sons, and my 89 year old mother. All of us enjoyed the condo and resort. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great time staying at Papakea. They take cleaning very seriously, all public amenities were cleaned daily. The condo itself has amazing views and plenty of space for the family. Host was easily accessible for some maintenance issues we had. Wi-Fi is a bit spotty.

Most beautiful slice of paradise
I'm not much for writing reviews so I'm going to wing it... This was by far the most beautiful experience I've ever had. The rooms were perfect. There was a few beach items in the condo that made our trip much easier. Also the stocked kitchen was a great way to make a few of our own meals and just relax and enjoy. The coffee on the balcony while looking across the water at rainbows and sea life was unreal... I would definitely come back.

Great location, great view, great overall experience
This was an amazing vacation. The AC is a bit dated and has a tough time cooling the place but overall the condo was perfect for the time we spent inside. The loft space is perfect for kids if you have them. Adults should take the lower level spaces. No complaints other than wish there was some more cooking materials in the condo. Great space!

Simply Amazing!
Perfect stay, celebrating my husbands 30th with 5 of our closest family & friends. Very clean, comfortable, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Sleeping arrangements worked out perfectly, having 3 full baths made getting ready very easy. A great location conveniently close to most things. We fully enjoyed our stay, and hope to come back again!
