"We had a lovely 3-night stay. The cottage was cozy and clean. The bed was very comfortable - soft, but not too soft. Pillows were great. Enjoyed a bonfire and smores at night; coffee and turtle watching from the boathouse dock at sunrise. We had a perfect view of the eclipse from the dock. Luckily, the rain clouds held off until after totality. Internet connection was strong and supported multiple devices. We were also able to smoothly stream movies in the evening, even with a thunderstorm raging. Owner was very flexible, and communication was unobtrusive and informative. Would definitely stay again if we ever get back down this way. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Very beautiful and peaceful."

"Over a year ago, we started looking for a place with natural beauty and within the band of totality during the April 8th Solar Eclipse. We also needed someplace affordable and although we zeroed in on Texas, it seemed that many places didn't meet our requirements. Holly Lake Ranch met all our needs and more. What a gorgeous and restful setting and a completely comfortable and clean home. The huge windows that look out into the trees and the path leading to the lake was my favorite thing and it's captivating. My daughter, son-in-law and son came for the eclipse and we enjoyed playing games, laughing, enjoying a great meal at "A taste of Italy" and then the eclipse and a BBQ on the deck. (The BBQ looked brand new!) A rainstorm moved in that night and the lightning was impressive through the picture windows. The kids left the next day but we stayed on, listening to the rain, reading in perfect comfort and stepping out for a meal in the evenings. So relaxing! We really hated to say goodbye to this beautiful home and it's wonderful surroundings."

"The lake house was beautiful and the host was above and beyond friendly. He and his wife were available when needed but did a great job giving us our group privacy. It made for such a pleasant experience. And the added touch of the home baked cookies upon our arrival was the perfect touch. The house was clean and did I say beautiful?? The community had fabulous amenities, too. I would highly recommend this rental for your next Texas vacation."
