Really nice lake front property
Nice cabin and a great location. Kids had a great time with the paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boat. Cabin was nice but could use some tlc.

Great location but needs TLC
The Round Lake Cabin Retreat has a wonderful location in a bay on Round Lake. It is close to the marina and 2 restaurants. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the paddleboards, kayaks, Lilypad and paddleboat. The Adirondack chairs on the deck were also appreciated. Unfortunately, the cabin itself needs some TLC. We called the property manager when we checked in because the screens of the patio doors that led to the deck were loose on the lower third. She sent someone to repair them the next morning. The windows in the lower level did not open with the crank but needed to be manually open and shut. My son had to go out during a storm to shut the bedroom window. The owner said he had contacted a company to repair the windows. Please be aware that 2 of the rooms listed as bedrooms on the lower level have no windows, which makes me question if they should legally be listed as bedrooms. The patio door in the walk out basement had no screen so it couldn’t be opened for ventilation. The owner did send us compensation for our inconvenience.

Thank you Clasine for the review! We have recently completed our 3rd year renting the cabin and have at 4.8 star rating from nearly 80 guests! We continue to make improvements to the cabin for our guests enjoyment. This year we added free wifi in time for our summer guests, even though it wasnt in the advertisement. Also purchased 6 high quality adirondack chairs for the deck and 8 new comfortable chairs for the firepit. Over the course of a busy summer, there is always wear and tear. We've had kayaks float away, doors/screens break, etc. In this case, the hardware on a window in basement was broken. Although we've ordered replacement, sometimes it takes a little more time to get an issue fixed. However, we are hopeful the replacement will come soon! We appreciate your patience when these things happen. As always we take a lot of pride in our cabin & in our premiere host status. We try and make your trip as pleasant and convenient by providing such things as water toys (kayaks, stand up paddleboards, etc) along with overflow parking that is within an easy walk. As summer ends, we will be taking our guests suggestions and look to make more improvements to provide our future guests with many more memorable trips to Round Lake. Thanks Randy

Fun water toys on clear lake
Our family of 16 stayed and had a great time. Sleeping arrangements were kind of snug for that many people but we made it work. I was concerned about the wicker furniture in the living room but they were actually kind of comfortable. Better than expected. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, pans, etc, but bring spices, oil, Saran Wrap, aluminum foil. Our favorite part was the lake and all the water toys furnished by the owner! We all enjoyed the lily pad, kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boat. Water was clear and fishing off the dock was good for the kids. They recently got new outdoor chairs that were super comfy when sitting outside. It was nice having an open flat area down by the lake for lawn games or sitting by the campfire. When we needed a break from the lake, we had a pool tournament inside with the pool table. The owner and property manager were very responsive to our questions and the owner wanted to make sure we were having a good time. I would definitely recommend this place if you don’t need super fancy.

Amazing lake house on Round Lake
Was a great lakefront property. Surrounded by trees and while there are neighbors, we felt isolated on the lake. Round Lake is an amazing lake and the property fits in perfectly. So many water toys (2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards. The hit for our little ones was the big 'lily pad'. They spent hours playing in and around it. Our group rented a pontoon from the very near-by Round Lake Marina and a smaller fishing boat. Room for both on the dock and still had plenty of room for swimming on the beach and off the dock. 13 of us stayed and all had beds so the sleeping accommodations were great. If you're looking for a north woods vacation and need room for 13, I don't know how you could do any better.

Great location for snowmobile trip with ride out to trails. Plenty of room to relax after riding. Parking was a little tight but managed fine with removing trailers to turn around. Would definitely stay there again.

Prime access to Round Lake/trail system for sleds. Room for parking of 3 trailers and trucks in the driveway and additional parking lot nearby for other rigs. Double check with managers that there is enough room in that lot given boats being stored there and other trailers there. House is very clean and comfortable. Note that one queen bed downstairs is a waterbed. Two lower-level bedrooms do not have exterior windows. Kitchen is phenomenal and well appointed. Everything works well and is nicely maintained. Garage for storing sled covers, oil during the day is really nice. We've stayed here twice now, and will be back again! We love the access to trails, the size of the property for our big group, and the big game-playing table in the dining space. If we had one thing to put on a wish list, it would be cozier seating in the living room and ottomans. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us! See you next year! Crash & Berne Crew

Beautiful Lakefront Property
My family and friends had a great time staying at this location. The property was very clean and had plenty of space for all 10 of us. Great location by the trails. Beautiful Lakefront Property. We will definitely look up this property again when we go back to Hayward, WI.

Wonderful lake and lakeshore
The location is very nice. The lake is beautiful and the water is crystal clear. Paddle boat on site had broken rudder, so I went to a hardware store to buy nut and bolt to repair it so it could be used The cabin itself could use some TLC. Main level was very nice except for the fact that the windows and screens needed cleaning and the sliding screen doors did not work smoothly. Nice deck that runs the full length of the back of the cabin, except there were no chairs on it except for a picnic table. Some Adirondack chairs would've been nice to relax on the deck. I don't feel that two of the bedrooms in the lower level can legitimately be considered bedrooms since they do not have windows. I also feel it should be disclosed that one of the queen beds is a water bed. It would have been nice if there would've been WIFI. Also, make sure you bring shower/bath soap/gel and shampoo as there was none in any of the bathrooms. All in all, we had a good time although I didn't feel the value met prior VRBO rentals we've had, and met my expectations.

I'm glad you enjoyed several features of our cabin. As this is the first 3 star review we've ever received, I'll make a few comments as we always want to make sure our guests enjoy their stay! I apologize for the issue with the paddleboat. Our cabin provides 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a lily pad and of course the paddleboat. Despite other locations or renters charging up to $50 for each of these items, we do not charge anything to the cabin rental rate as we like to use them when we're at the cabin and think it's helpful to our guests not to have to transport or rent. As you can imagine, sometimes these items can be damaged (I just bought a new kayak paddle 2 weeks ago). We're always happy to repair or replace when damage occurs, unfortunately we were unaware of the paddleboat issue. We truly appreciate your help fixing! Our standard starting supply is to provide hand and dish soap as suggested by VRBO. You'll want to bring additional hand/dish soap along with soaps/shampoo for shower. As stated on property description, there is no wifi. Screens for the big sliding doors are a constant item that needs to be repaired and we do so with each new guest. I have touched base with the professional cleaners on the window cleanliness. We do have chairs that many guests use for both the deck and fire pit. We will consider adding deck chairs when I do the property review this fall. Once again, thank you for your input and we will look to continue to improve the property for our guests!

August at the Lake
This was our second time staying on Round Lake, first time at this VRBO, it did not disappoint! The lawn area leading down to the water was great, and our kids really enjoyed the paddle boat. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all sorts of cooking supplies. We will definitely look to stay here again!

Round Lake 2022
We love Randy's place! Three families/12 people. Plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing or gather as a group to eat and play games. The gradual slope to the water provided plenty of space for outside games as well as easy access to the water. There were many water toys for the young and old and plenty of fish caught right from the dock! This is the third year staying here and the family is already talking about the fourth!

Wonderful time and beautiful place and lake!
We had a great five days that accommodated our family so well with a beautiful pine paneled great room and kitchen, two bedrooms up and 3 down! Kitchen has everything you need to make meals and serve food! Nice laundry room off kitchen. Beautiful clean lake and good size! Great swimming for kids and we able to rent a pontoon boat. Fishing was great too for kids and even caught some other good size fish throwing them back in. Would have liked air conditioning on a hot day or ceiling fans but cooled down the next day. Overall, it was a beautiful place!

Memorial Day Weekend Trip
This is a very nice, spacious cabin on a beautiful lake. We had some issues when we first arrived with the dishwasher and a shower leak that were taken care of within 24 hours. There are not many shower towels in the bathrooms so we recommend bringing your own. The ice maker in the refrigerator doesn't work, no huge deal, we bought ice. There are so many cool things about this place. There are 2 kayaks on the shore and 2 paddleboards and a paddle boat. The "kids" all adults now, used all of these and loved every part of it. We fished off of the dock and caught very nice bass and crappies and we also had plenty room to park the pontoon we rented from the marina across the bay. There is a great restaurant you can boat up to - Powell's and there is a winery less than a mile from the cabin that serves some pretty awesome barbeque and flat pizza. We loved the location and the proximity to our old favorite place, Sisko's on the Flowage, we were able to visit with a 10 minute road trip. We for sure recommend!! Thank you!

6th annual Family Getaway
We had a very memorable and enjoyable stay at this property this past weekend! The house is well-stocked and furnished to handle our big family! Lots of space to run and play. Plenty of dishes, cups, silverware for our large group. Lots of toys, games, and movies. We had a pool competition, a caramel apple making, sledding down the hill to the lake, lots of conversation, and room for the needed quiet and loud times. The owner was wonderful to work with to accommodate some special situations we were dealing with, and the manager was very attentive to our safety and needs (ice storm) without being invasive to our time. Can't say enough good and highly recommend this place!

Awesome access to the trails with excellent parking/overflow parking! The best of any property we've rented! Clean, well equipped kitchen. Looks like they are working on some updates. Faucet on tub in master leaks slowly. Beds comfy, but bring your own pillows! The water bed in the lower level was a surprise: Gotta put that in the property description. Ice maker out of commission. Bring a bag! We had a great trip, great trails, and we will likely enjoy this property again! The lake access/parking can't be beat!

Family Getaway
This cabin was perfect for our family! The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and more. I was so impressed by the extras like the children’s toys, tons of games, paddle boards, life jackets, kayaks, etc. The lake was so clear and beautiful. The proximity of the cabin to the main Hayward area was great too! Just a short 6 miles to gas, Walmart, restaurants and gift shops. Thank you for the amazing accommodations. We hope to return!

Beautiful area. Quiet. All inclusive to stay at cabin, easy access to downtown
Nice property and location. Plenty of water activity toys to use. Should maintain property, dishwasher did not work, light bulbs missing from lights, also during a thunderstorm the kitchen skylight started to leak. Beds comfortable. Rating the property manager, really can’t had no reason to communicate with that person.

Location was great but the accommodations need help as in the master bed was great but the other beds were very uncomfortable and the kitchen cupboards the doors were very difficult to open and need handles. Being there was no air conditioning, dishwasher and no ice maker your pricing is a little on the high side. WI-FI would have also been nice.

Hi Karen, We appreciate you comments & always look to improve. We've lived in the cabin for 13 years and have talked about putting handles on the cabinets, now with your suggestion we finally will. The handles have been purchased and will be installed shortly. Jeff did mention that the dishwasher has had some issues lately, so I am purchasing a new one. Arrival date is Oct 19. As advertised, the cabin doesn't have wifi or air conditioning. We have found that from visiting friends with air conditioning and wifi, that especially the kids tend to head back to the comfort of the cabin and grab an electronic device. We enjoy not having either so our kids will spend time outdoors and on the lake. When needed, nearby retailers do have wifi or most phones do have reasonable internet and cell service. As for beds, the master is new, so hope you enjoyed it. We will need to take a look at the rest of the beds to make sure they remain in good shape for upcoming guests. Again, I appreciate your comments and hope you enjoyed your brief stay and come back to Round Lake soon! Thanks Randy

We had a awesome time on our family vacation , the house had everything we needed and more . My grandkids were over the moon with all the different toys and the collection of DVD’s.They also enjoyed the Maui pad .The lake was so clear and the weather really cooperated for us ,so we were able to enjoy the lake. Wonderful communal space!
Everything we needed was available to relax, cook, and enjoy the beautiful clear lake. The children loved the lily pad and caught fish from the pier. Furnished very nicely and comfortablly. Definitely would recommend it for a family vacation.

Great Family Home for a Vacation!!
We have been renting homes for the past 15 years and this by far was the best one. Everything was perfect, plenty of toys for the little ones, plenty of water toys for the older kids and a pool table for family fun. Never missed the T.V. that i was worried about, too much to do. Can't wait until next year to come back.

We had a great time. House was everything that was listed, it was clean, had plenty of beds and bathrooms. Location on lake was perfect. A/C would have been nice but 90 in June is not typical. Overall it was a very fun and relaxing stay.

Guys snowmobile trip
The property was clean and well set up for snowmobiling and the parking of trucks and trailers. The house accommodated our group of 9 very well with everyone having a bed. The only improvements I'd like to suggest is adding Wifi and a television on the top floor.

Fun time! enjoyed by all.
We enjoyed a week at this home. While the weather was kind of cool but the property and area were beautiful. Home is supplied with all the dishes, towels, and toys etc. one could possibly use. We had 9 people there and were very pleased with the amenities and the property owners.

A perfect getaway from reality.
This cabin was perfect! We had 8 adults and2 kids and it was this the break we all needed. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking essentials we needed for cooking up family style meals. The lake was beautiful with a nice sandy bottom, plus they have 2 kayaks, a SUP, a paddle boat, and a Lilly pad for use. This was just the break we were looking for.

Perfect for visiting family!
I cannot stress enough how amazing our stay was here. We came up with 8 adults, 5 children all under the age of 8, 1 dog and the cabin was a perfect fit for all of us. It was close to family we had in town (the same bay actually!) and had enough space for everyone to run around. The cabin itself is stunning (both inside and out) and had the most amazing view. We all agree that it's been the best cabin we've stayed in as a large group and hope to get the chance to stay again.
