Turtle beach and the hotel are quite lovely. Saw turtles on all 3 days there. Who knew Sri Lanka was sooo nice. The hotel breakfast is very good. Good variety of foods, good quality.

Staff really friendly and helpful. It’s a 4 star hotel downstairs but rooms aren’t 4 star. Comfortable but compact and dated. Lovely views from balcony. Grounds and pool area plenty of space.

This property is a pretty run down for the price. There are some good things about it for sure, and it could be a great resort. In my opinion these are the changes that need to be made. -The front desk was slow, understaffed, have poor procedures, and at times had a bad attitude. We had a rude bartender who seemed very confused about our room number, arguing we had already checked out. Buying two beers while we were paying guests was an ordeal. The rest of the staff was great. -The bed needs a headboard, like a proper bed. Your pillow is against a dirty wall that was stained. The room needed a deep clean. -For many westerners like myself, coffee is more important than breakfast. Good coffee, readily available in larger portions, would be a simple, inexpensive change to make caffeine-fiend westerners happy. For me, bedding and coffee are the two most important things a hotel can offer. -This hotel attracts some very unpleasant guests. It isn't the hotels fault, but be prepared.

High price, poor performance
The hotel is well located In Hikkaduwa. The property is extremely old un un-kept. Service is very slow and a lot of the basics (lounge chairs, terrace, appliances) are not in good condition. Fortunately the property will undergo a mayor renovation during the first half of 2020.

Great family holiday
The location is great, the whole staff very friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was very good. Food was great. The only thing is that some of the facilities have obviously seen several years of use ... with minor repairs left.

Good location and friendly staff - especial thanks to the reception and Mr. Lasantha at the restaurant. The hotel was a bit worn down though and the room had a noisy dehumidifier - which needed to be kept running.

A great location! Right on the seafront and close on the Main Street. Wonderful breakfast with a lot of variety for vegans and vegetarians. Comfortable beds and rooms. A little dampness meant that the dehumidifiers has to stay on all the time. It didn’t bother us but it might disturb people’s sleep if not used to a fan. Thank you for a nice stay!

I booked online while at the hotel through Expedia. I believe that they penalized me for doing so. The room I received was one of the worst in the hotel. Was not clean, had broken lights, broken locks, broken doors, etc. I think they save this room for people who book online. Really disappointing. I definitely won’t book another cinnamon hotel again and will avoid Expedia as well do to the error unless someone explains that this is not common. Would appreciate a response. Thank you

Very noisy if there is a function on, although we did get upgraded when asked about the noise. Great pool and service but i would not recommend getting your laundry done there. Breakfast buffet was great with a large selection. Great location but i would look for better value for money next time.

An average 3* tourist hotel in a good beach location. A good selection of reasonable quality buffet food in restaurant. Service in the restaurant can be slow at times, but always polite. Some rooms can be noisy late into the night if near entertainment. Our first allocated room was situated directly above the entertainment but we were promptly moved when we complained.The second room was also of much better quality and cleaner than the first. Service around the pool areas is poor. Pool areas are plagued with crows and little is done to resolve the problem. Cleanliness of the pool could be better.

Great location when staying at Hikkaduwa. The accommodation was excellent and the staff were very much customer focused....especially the sun/pool chair attendant who worked tirelessly to have chairs available with padding....great job. It had the most breakfast choices for any of the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Plenty of dining options outside the hotel. There is also a supermarket and wine store just down the road. If you are into nature: Turtles in the water at the resort also added to this being a great hotel to stay at. Lots of squirrels and crows about as well Just be aware that resort pricing for drinks is high, but as mentioned, plenty of options outside the resort.

Most of the staff was very helpful. Breakfast buffet was always good but everyday it was same. they could try to offer some different dishes each day to give a variety. Their pool towel policy doesn't make any sense, we had a discussion with Hotel GM and hopefully he will correct it. we paid for a 5 star hotel but they dont even let their guest use steam room which was very disappointing. Property and restaurants are well kept but rooms are really dated. Need some updating. some of their server and wait staff really dont understand what you are ordering and you end up getting totally different dish than what you ordered. their restaurant staff can use some training. over all good hotel. One thing i really like to tell their management that please treat all your guests equally. your staff tends to pay more attention base on what you look like.

Large, modern hotel on the beach. The room was lovely with a large sea view balcony. The pool is large and warm. We didn’t have meals included, no point since Sri Lanka is so cheap, but did have pool snacks which were very tasty. Good location and sea turtles on the beach outside is a real bonus.

i have zero complaints on this property. it was perfect in every way. only problem i have is i didnt have longer here. staff perfect, food perfect and location perfect. turtles everywhere at the back of resort. and shopping out the front, well the girlfriend liked that

Good times at Hikka Tranz
Godd beach hotel. Hotel staff is very accommodating. Needs a some infrastructure improvements. Good breakfast and overall food choices. People in the area are quite friendly. We had a lots of things to do with around the aresnnb

Fantastic Beach Side Resort
When you walk out to the pool/restaurant/bar area you instantly feel like your on holidays. The vibe is great and the pools look over the beach which was a great view of the sunset. My parents enjoyed the buffet whilst my sister and I scoped the local beach restaurants and also saw massive turtles in the ocean. Customer service is fantastic. Rooms are starting to show their age but still very pleasant. We would definitely visit again.
