Our gps maa as p guide took us a try pound xx about way with Lis of stairs. Check the tourist map at ferry station and stick to main path past shrine, much better!

Unique japanese style room with western beds! Staff are very friendly and even showed us how to wear the Yukata. The multi course dinner served was really delicious.

Great hotel
I had a wonderful time here. Hotel was nice and clean. Room was big. Service was wonderful. There was a staff that spoke perfectly English. Great location. Nice onsen with open air bath. I love their shampoo and soap. Really nice scent.I will definitely come back.

Very nice hotel in good location. Room was on the small side, but for 1 night it wasn’t a huge deal. Very good service and very welcoming check in process. Kind of wished we’d arranged for breakfast ahead of time, as it wasn’t possible the night before.

The service at the Miyajima Grand Hotel couldn't have been better. Shuttle bus to collect us from the ferry, bags carried to our room (which was lovely), staff on hand at all points, exceptional dinner, onsen in the building - we had such a great time! Very little to find fault with but the menu is very fish/seafood heavy so not great if you're not a fan of that!

This ryokan was so cozy and the staff was incredible. I would have given them more stars if I could have. We had a Japanese style room with private garden and a soaking tub. In the first floor of the ryokan you can find the public onsen. When you first arrive you are greeted by all the staff and check in on the second floor. Dinner and breakfast were included in the price for the room we stayed in. We were shown to our room and had tea and fruits/sweets waiting for us in the room. The hostess/geisha prepared green tea for us and asked about our dinner menu choices. Dinner was delicious with some of the freshest sashimi I have ever had. Very enjoyable stay. The hotel offers a free shuttle for its guests to and from Miyajima ferry. Also if you like to hike the trail (2.4 km and very steep with plenty of stairs) that takes you to the top of Mount Misen is just around the corner from this Ryokan.

Beautiful location, amazing room and the staff were just incredible. We contacted them ahead of time about the possibility of vegan alternatives for meals and honestly we were blown away by the level of effort they put in. The best food we had in our entire holiday by far!! They were so attentive, obliging and friendly too. Best check in experience we had all holiday, most helpful recommendations about the local area and just an all round fantastic experience. We looked at so many options including Iwaso who never even bothered to reply to our email (!) and other luxury options. I am so so glad we went with this place and delighted we were able to experience it. Without doubt we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Had a wonderful one night stay. The outdoor soaking tub with view of shrine was heaven, as was the dinner and breakfast. Really helpful to speak at least basic Japanese, though - the lady who showed us our room spoke no English, she was very patient and gracious, but we wouldve been lost if we didnt speak any Japanese at all. The staff at the front desk spoke more than enough english for check in/out, as did the shuttle bus driver, so dont be totally put off even if you dont speak Japanese. An unforgettable experience in an iconic location.

We enjoyed an elaborate multi-course dinner in a private setting. But the breakfast next morning was served in what looked like a convention space, and the food was poor quality. The hotel is well located. But our room, although large, was disappointing. All in all, this hotel did not live up to the very positive online reviews.

Almost a disaster at check in when, despite booking for a family of four (all ages declared) for dinner, bed and breakfast, staff advised they would be charging us an additional ¥6,000 to cover our 2.5yr old as they assumed it was a baby and wouldn’t need a bed or food (?!). In the end we agreed that 1 meal would be sufficient to share between our 2.5 & 4.5yr old so no need to debate but not a great start. Staff were very friendly and the room was nice although we got twin beds rather than a king size bed. Dinner was a good traditional Japanese banquet, breakfast was generous portions too. Very convenient location.

Best place to stay in Miyajima
Arimoto hotel is amazing! Everything about it was delightful! It was walkable to all sights, and they offer a shuttle to pick up/drop off at pier for convenience. The rooms are spacious and equipped with nearly every amenity one could possibly need. The dinner/breakfast was delicious - lots of variety and excellent service. Every staff member from the shuttle driver to the front desk to housekeeping was exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect Japanese immersion
The Grand Hotel Arimoto is superb for those who love the Japanese culture and beauty. It has all the modern amenities and yet remains very traditional. It is very close to the main shrine and torii, allowing for night viewing of these amazing sites. The staff was very welcoming, the food was delicious, the room spacious and beautiful. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hot bath. Pricey but absolutely worth it.

First Class experience in Miyajima
This was the most impressive hotel we stayed in during our recent trip! Arrived in the morning and caught the hotel shuttle from the ferry dock. Since we couldn't get into our room yet, the staff took care of our many bags and checked us in. Hotel was just minutes walking distance from main attractions and shopping street. When we got into our room we were shocked to find they put us in a suite with tatami room, western bedroom and a sitting area! Evening stroll down to Torii was magical, wearing yukata. Kaiseki dinner down in dining room was excellent as was the Japanese breakfast next morning. Throughout our stay we were assigned a staffer - Mio - who was very attentive and friendly. Didn't have a chance to try the onsen. Next time!

Wonderful Miyajima Grand Arimoto
The Miyajima Grand Arimoto offers a synthesis of Japanese and Western experiences. The multi-course dinners are amazing - wonderful food, fabulous presentation and excellent service! The sashimi box with shells filled with dry ice is exquisite - a treat for the eyes and the tummy. The rooms are very clean and it's a fun experience to wear yukatas to breakfast or dinner.

All round good hotel
Hotel is in a decent location just behind Itsukushima Shrine close to all attractions, little far from Miyajima ferry port if you have a lot of luggage but hotel has bus that will pick you up. Nice clean room just a little small particularly the bathroom but this is normal for Japan. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good quality and plenty of food, walked away without finishing. In general for a hotel on Miyajima island it was well worth it.

Very near the giant tori gate and shrine that have made Miyajima famous. Incidentally Expedia inserted a highly incorrect info in my confirmation which said: 'There is no front desk at this property. To make arrangements for check-in please contact the property ahead of time using the information on the booking confirmation." This is absolutely not true. Not only is there a highly qualified front desk but I was picked up by the hotel shuttle bus upon my arrival at the ferry.

Nice Japanese style room that was very clean. Person who escorted us to our room did an exceptional job in explaining the features of the hotel, and was also the person who served us our dinner and breakfast. Excellent Japanese style dinner with a lot of food. For breakfast, we had 1 Japanese style and 1 western style. Japanese style was good, but the western breakfast was below average. Onsen was nice, but pools were a little shallow.
