This is our fourth visit to the Hawaiian Islands but first visit to Oahu. It's always difficult to know where to stay when there are lots of options. However, we feel we hit the jackpot while staying at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki! There are so many wonderful things to say about this resort that I hardly know where to begin. From the moment of check-in, where they upgraded our room from a oceanfront room to a oceanfront SUITE, to the moment we checked out, we felt like royalty. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the location couldn't have been better for our needs. We have never done any kind of all-inclusive accommodations, however, we decided to pamper ourselves and opted to include the Voyager 47 with our reservation. It was probably the second best decision we made after deciding to stay at the Outrigger Reef. The friendly staff included Frank, Jane, Theresa and Karissa, and I'm sorry I didn't get the names of the others because they were friendly as well. The things I can think of that I would have liked were to have bathrobes available (we pack very light for our trips and don't pack ours) and to have the hot tubs open longer than 8:00 p.m. daily. Of course, these are very minor issues and didn't detract from our wonderful stay. We stayed for six wonderful nights, and it was very difficult to leave. We can't wait to come back so we can stay longer!

The staff at Outrigger Reef was exceptional - friendly and helpful. The hotel is quieter than other Waikiki hotels - doesn’t have the busy foot traffic or crowds as some, which I preferred. We had a wonderful ocean view. The hotel doesn’t have as much “beach space” immediately in front of the property but is very near the spacious Fort Derussy beach area. On property dining was very good and there were great local eateries nearby. We took advantage of the nearby bus stop for much of our island travel. Public transportation was convenient and reasonable.

The property has been remodeled since 2018 and is even more beautiful. The rooms have also been updated as well will Hawaiian historical pictures in the rooms. Easy access to the beach and if you desire to take a sunset cruise or snorkeling to see the sea turtles you can book at the hotel through the Holokai Caterman company! Highly recommend! Hotel has live music featuring local musicians which is really nice.
