The staff at check-in were lovely and the owner seemed to care about my experience. One can see that at some point in the past, this was a grand hotel, but time has taken its toll. There is a restaurant in the hotel that seems quite popular. I understood that I was booking at a lower price point, so my expectations were tempered. My main problem is that the bed wasn't that comfortable and worse, there is a window above the room door that allows the light from the hallway to enter the room, making it very difficult to sleep - it seems such a strange setup. I had a poor sleep because of it.

It is a great Hotel with great meals, good entertainment and fantastic staff! In fact, I fell in love with one of the bar waitresses so stayed another night! Double thumbs up from me!

This is a nice old pub in centre of city. As clean as an older building can be. Staff friendly and helpful. Possibly slightly over priced for what you actually get but would stay again.

Was not made aware of the Nightclub under our room
When we arrived and went up to our room, the smell was overwealming. It had been recently painted and the room was not ventilated. We thought we could manage that. But when we returned after dinner with friends, we were blocked at the door by security as there was a party on the ground floor. We were not told about this. The security went up and down the hallway where our room was to remove patrons that were drunk and disorderly. By 10:30pm we were tired as we had a long day of driving ahead and security told us the party would be going till 1am. We left and found another place to stay.
