Very unsafe due to owner negligence
First impression of the property upon pulling up was “wow” in a bad way. It appeared to be very unkept with a large RV in the driveway, another car parked in the front yard, at least 7 stoves/washers/dryers lining the back of the driveway with 3 mattresses, and other broken down structures. Upon entering it didn’t appear to be filthy everywhere but severely needs a deep clean and was filthy is some areas. After completing safety check, I found the home to be very unsafe. Not one single window was able to be locked and the doors were all very janky. It was very clear that the home is unsafe for guest. The listing provided the four bedrooms as and was close to the zoo & other KC attractions. We did have to leave to go purchase toilet paper as that was not provided as described. The owner did have towels prepared as described but I can’t recommend using the shower due to the extremely low water pressure.

Terrible
The cupboards were falling off, one towel per person, only mini fridges in the rooms no big fridge in the place, scary neighborhood, no tv in the sitting room, garbage in the backyard (tub and a junk grill), a camper in the driveway, and that was just what we seen at first look. Didn’t really stay very long. Owner quit responding to my messages. Do not recommend!

Absolutely terrible.
I tried to give the benefit of the doubt with the mixed reviews online. It was late when we got there, so we couldn’t see most of the issues until the next morning just to name a few of my concerns the house smelled like rotting meat, the locks were held together by duct tape, There was mouse droppings on the stove and in the cabinets, there were holes in the floor. The list could go on. I have tried to communicate with owner about a refund with no luck. We stayed there one night and checked out early the next morning.

Never got to enter the house
The host texted me 15 minutes after our check in time telling us to last minute cancel. I went back and forth with him, he said that the previous guests had not checked out yet. He did not even notice until hours later right at my check in time. Meaning he never went and cleaned it or checked on it at all. Check out is at 11 and check in is at 4, he should’ve had plenty opportunities to notice that the previous guests had not left. So we had no place to stay last minute and we’re unable to purchase another home to stay in.

Nice and homey
We loved this rental so much we extended our stay. Its very spacious I love the back patio and the upstairs is like a private bungalow. There were a couple items left in the mini fridges but i was a housekeeper before and its a common mistake.

Girls weekend
Three of us came to KC to meet another friend and to go to the New Theater for a dinner show. We arrived to a nice warm home on a cold day. It’s an older home with lots of character. Not a complaint but something to keep in mind - there is no large kitchen refrigerator. Each bedroom has a small fridge so keep that in mind if you have a larger group and plan to bring a lot of groceries for an extended stay. Dishes are also a little limited. But for the price you just can’t beat it.

Cute place but there were issues
The home is a charming older home which has been very tastefully decorated. I love the look of the old beams and the hardwood floor. Lots of open space in the living and dining areas, and the four beds could accommodate a lot of guests. The beds were very comfortable. However, we did have several issues with this stay. The most glaring issue was that we were given the wrong code for the lockbox and could not get the key. I queried the host and did not get an answer until late evening THE NEXT DAY. In desperation I snuck into the back yard (which the fencing is designed to prevent) and discovered that the back door had been left unlocked. So I was able to get into the house for the first night. However, in the back yard there are multiple appliances and other various pieces of apparent junk. The driveway has a pickup truck and a large RV parked in it. The kitchen cabinets were dusty. The wood base in the cabinet under the sink was caved in. The kitchen lacks a refrigerator but there are mini-fridges in each of the bedrooms downstairs and a small full-size fridge in the large upstairs bedroom. There were forks and knives but no spoons in the kitchen. Several light bulb sockets were empty. Water pressure was low. The home is located very close to a major medical center. This may explain the many sirens we heard while we were in the house. There was also a helicopter that came to the hospital around midnight. There was no communication of checkout procedures.

Disappointing
Storage area = line of old appliances in the backyard. Free parking available = RV in the driveway so you’re parking in the street. Older house = sagging kitchen countertops. And inspect the listing photos carefully or you’ll miss that there is not a refrigerator in the kitchen. Instead, there are mini refrigerators in the bedrooms. No television in the living room. Apparently I missed these details in the listing. The owner will probably have a cruddy rebuttal to this but I did try to bring up my concerns in private when I requested a partial refund for the crummy accommodations. His response, my message to him and photos taken available to prove credibility.
