My friend and I were severely disappointed in our stay. The pictures didn’t come close to the actual hotel. When we booked, we felt like this was our one splurge on hotels and it ended up being the worst. The check in process was also completely ridiculous. We got there late and they proceeded to not only ask us for our passports (we had gotten used to this throughout Thailand) but for the custom departure ticket as well. They then also asked for me to email them my confirmation reservation. We were also disappointed with breakfast - it was an extra $480 baht/person and was terrible. I eat a plant based diet and my only option was fruit. On the upside, the location is fantastic as it’s right across the street from Karon Beach and they provide a beach bag with 2 beach towels. Would not stay here again and recommend finding an alternative place on Karon Beach - not worth the expense.

The staff provide unclear information when checking in. Check out takes a long time. The bathroom door was damaged. Your water temperature control did not work properly. Water always came out too hot even when i tried to balanced the temperature. The compressor is loud. Spacious swimming pool. The hotel is easy to find, convenient for eating.

One of the most disgusting hotels I've been to
Firstly the room wasn’t ready for almost 1-2 hours. But that’s not the main issue, afterwards when I went to the room it was dirty, worn down, it smelled so bad, it wasnt nothing like the photographs. It was beyond a livable the bathroom was also nasty old gray dirty mold in the corners. It was simply disgusting. Make sure you don't book here. The hotel should put real photos. I actually left the hotel within 1-2 hours of checking in as it was unbearable and booked another hotel.

This hotel needs closing and re-furbishing
The location of this hotel is wonderful and that's it, we were so disappointed at check in, the lobby is so scruffy and doesn't give you any confidence of what's to come, our room was at the rear of the hotel, where most of the rooms are, the whole area needs re-furbishing, there's loose concrete and black mould everywhere, over half the rooms in this area have a view of a side wall of another hotel with air-conditioning units running and the trash corridor. This hotel is an absolute disgrace to the Ramada Brand and the management running it really couldn't care less.

Super helpful and friendly staff, can’t fault the service. The hotel needs possibly a bit of tlc- the gym was not as expected, the roof garden walled up and perhaps a fresh kick of paint to revive it a bit. Location wise it’s great, the beach is close by and all amenities within easy walking distance. Wi-fi in the room was hit and miss.

Good location for access to the beach adjacent (across the main road). The room was clean, bed linen and mattress were far better than expected (good quality). The hotel is a little dated, but perfectly fine and importantly, very clean. We stayed 2 nights and would certainly stay again.

The sliding door to the pool wouldn't lock or shut properly and the room was full of mosquitos (and we tried 4 rooms before having to accept the one we stayed in, the air conditioning smelt, was really loud and the control panel didn't work properly. We stayed in a pool access room, paying well for it and it wasn't worth it. This is our 5th time staying here and will be the last, we were disappointed as nothing has really been done to the resort since going there in 2004. We persisted as the location is great, but thats the only good thing. Meals were below average as well. I don't usually do reviews if its not good but this hotel needs to do an upgrade!! and soon.

Nice resort but needs a little oomph. maybe a few activities The restaurant was deserted apart from breakfast. Hence we were hesitant to eat anything there apart from the breakfast.

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Ramada. The staff and manager were super friendly and very efficient. The manager was always around inquiring about your well being and responded immediately to all requests. The hotel is conveniently located across the road from the beach and close to all restaurants and shops.

Close to beach & main street. Restaurants & bars within a short walk. Value for money. Larger resort than we thought & our room was the furthest from the pool, & reception. The hotel was empty, so it would have made our stay more enjoyable, to have a room closer to the front of the resort.

The Hotel staff are not very friendly and the buffet breakfast is average. They need to smile more. Lot of group staff chatting during breakfast service. Was asked to hand over a 3000 Baht security deposit after paying the full cost of my accommodation. Not up to 5 Star standard. The hotel needs maintenance. The timber decking around pool needs serious attention. Fittings are starting to rust. Hotel management lacking. Met other quests who would not stay there again. Only positive was the Housekeeping Ladies work hard.

Nice beach nice staff terrible hotel.
On arrival good check in, room which was a pool side room excellant, the breakfast so so the pool area absalutly terrible ,the decking was a mess and a health hazard, I am suprised no one has broken their ankle. 215 rooms and 15 sunbeds. In there picture you have a sunbed with a 4inch mattress, does not exist (Don't believe the photos) the beach lovely would be the only reason for staying here. Final comment never again.

Stayed in Room 512. The best room at the hotel. In my opinion. Sun all day. Only one neighbour. Was terrific. Breakfast was fine. Don’t expect too much. Hotel is not as busy as sone of the other resorts in the strip. Which was a plus for me. Recommend room 512. Staff? Hmmm? Ok....? Not amazing, but I don’t need hotel assistance when on holidays. They were fine. I liked the room I was in and just accoss from the beach. I would stay in room 512 again (only).

Ramada Karon Beach Phuket
We picked a room with a pool view and the room was lovely, spotlessly clean and serviced everyday. The breakfast was plentiful with a great variety to eat. My only complaint was the internet service as you kept losing the WiFi signal and had to keep signing in.

Good location!
We had a 4 nights stay at the pool access room. The room is relatively clean but there is a damp stench. We sprayed mosquito repellent in the room and the stench will be covered. This will be also prevent mosquito from coming into the room. The pool is a bit small but lucky the period we went is low season and the pool is not really crowded. Breakfast variety is really too less and not very yummy. The location of Ramada Southsea is super good. Walk out of the resort and Karon beach is just in front. Along the stretch of roads have shops and restaurants too. It's really convenient. Overall our stay was good!

Just good enough
A simple 2.5/3 star hotel. The back rooms need renovation are outdated. Maybe the rooms upfront are newer! The building has lived a life and you can see this in the bathrooms clearly. The location is close to the beach (3 minute walking and crossing a main road). It is also close to many resturant and shops. The hotel staff is nice but may not be as knowledgeable, so be ready to do the work yourself. Breakfast was VERY basic. Just eggs and some toast, small fruit selection, simple coffee, and few vegetables. Overall just 2.5 star

How to say, first i looked for another hotel in karon beach area. More luxurry but the end. Hotel staff was not good as we should pay for that. Not polite at all. Then i look for new one. I found ramada, easy to park car. Short walk to reservation. Staff is polite. Friendly. Yes!!! It was nice for holiday. You look for nature and some nice people. Room is good. I say super good. Can open door and jump to pool. I just stay for 2 night there. But be love with that. I will be back there for sure. Just returned from 5 days at the Remada,good points near the beach that's the only good point . The pool chairs are like gold (very lucky if you can get one) there reserved from 6 in the morning until dark and not checked by the pool staff at all .....he's to busy making sure no one eats by the pool even if it's a Lolly in your mouth walking through the area it's like being in a holiday prison

Hotel is very dirty,very noisy,U can hear absolutely everything in ur room what happened outdoor. Specially the other accommodation which near hotel,always washing and cleaning something at 8 am. Everyone who would like to have rest and sleep lots on holidays should not go there. Even that they have "do not disturb " warning,cleaner anyway will come at 9 am and be calling U. Not understanding that U say come later she even will open ur door. Terrible. They cleaning room just making it look like cleaned,floor still will be dirty for days. All what they do is make up bed. Shower is funny,it has super hot water or super cold water,some days if U are lucky it can be medium. Breakfasts are not bad for this hotel,location is also good. But rest is terrible.Would not advise anyone. Def would never be back.

Much unloved hotel in need of TLC
We stayed here for a week in a 'club' with pool access. In most hotels a club room gives you additional benefits and a superior room. There were no benefits and room was average but very dark but the worst things were 1. Having no hot water for the majority of our stay. When it did work you had to run the shower for at least 15 minutes to get lukewarm water, the staff weren't particularly bothered although there were one or 2 that seemed embarrassed that by the 3rd day and 3 'maintenance' visits it still didn't work. 2. The breakfast was so bad that after the 2nd day (and another complaint to the manager) we went elsewhere and paid for breakfast as the food hygiene standards were 'worrying'. I couldn't work out why the bacon looked like it had been steamed and was cold - the 2nd day I saw where it was kept. Precooked in a container covered in cling film on the floor. The bacon on the shelf that you helped yourself to was simply topped up from this precooked mass of bacon as it ran out. The omelettes were a strange brown colour. We were concerned about when the pre-mix had been made and how it was stored following the bacon revelation. The staff at breakfast I would simply describe as 'going through the motions', there's no organisation, tables aren't properly laid, you often need to go and find the missing cutlery, cups, salt etc. but the final straw for us was; when I was given a napkin from another table that had lipstick on it, I could go on.....

Unfriendly unpleasant feel
Had the superior room for me and missus which was 2 beds pushed together, powers did not work and very unhelpful staff and disinterested! Although given it was quiet season the breakfast was lousy cold and unedible even though we got there at 645am 15minutes after opening. I told the supervisor if you could call them that and they just smiled then started to abuse us in Thai to the other staff thinking I did not understand! Well that was our first nights stay! We did not want to stay any longer but as we had paid for 10 nights we thought we shall try to work around it. We thought we would check out other hotels close by to see if that's what the area was like and NONE of them where remotely that unpleasant, now I could see why there was only 10 rooms or so taken at Ramada! After 5nights we had to move hotels to a place where staff looked happy and willing to accomidate you! I have stay in Phuket numerous times but none have been that unpleasant. I Do not and Will not recommend this to anyone...carefree and lacklustre in attitude place!

The phuket ramada
I have stayed in many Ramada hotels around the world this is the worse run Ramada i have stayed at even tho my reservation stated that internet was included in the rate i had to pay 2000.00 bart a weeks internet thats around 60.00 Australian dollars close to what i pay for 3 months at home. Also only one devise can use the internet with the code if i payed another 2000 bart i would been allowed 2 devices my mobil and my laptop. However i did bring this to the hotels attention and the hotel manager who kind of said he was working on it etc etc told me that i was staying in a room that does not provide free internet i then took my laptop to reception and showed him and his staff his own website thats stated the hotel offers free wifi to all rooms he told me it was a mistake however seeing i was staying in the hotel for 2 weeks he would offer me one weeks free internt .He should of refunded my money rather than give me free internet axcess for a week.he did send me a letter to appolgise for the inconvience and a fruit platter ( very nice ) but I see they are still advertising free internet in all rooms . Most good hotels internet is free i class the Ramada as a good chain of hotels .Nice hotel needs to stop ripping people of with the ad on costs .It's a 4 star hotel people pay good money already to stay here without being stung again and again.

Disappointing hotel
This hotel reminds me of a hospital more than a holiday hotel with its bare cement walls and floors. Not at all the Thai style I have become accustomed to over the more than 20 years I have visited Thailand. The breakfast was also very disappointing with very slow service where you have to stand in line for 10 to 15 minutes to get a fried egg, and the fruit juices, if you can call it that, was horrible to say the least. Bottom line; I will NEVER stay in this hotel again..!!

When we arrived at the Remada we had a problem with check-in.The girls on the desk didn't seem interested in rectifying the problem,Once fixed the only problem encountered was the un-organised breakfast.Apart from those problems all else was good but an overrated hotel for the price.

Great location, lots to offer
The Ramada South sea is in a fantastic location in the middle of Karon beach which makes it close to the main drag aswell as right across the road from the beach. The pool, while small is cool ( ie: refreshing when it is hot) and the lounge area is nice if you can get a spot. The staff are friendly and helpful and their is live music in the evening that is good quality. The restaurant is quite good ( we only ate on one occasion) but the breakfast buffet is a little sub standard for a four star hotel where food runs out, is a bit limited in choice and the egg station is undermanned with a trainee and so the queues for an egg ( regardless of time of morning) can be quite daunting!

Nice Hotel very close to the beach
Ramanda South Sea is very close to the beach and this is its major attaction. The hotel is very western in it decor which is not what we really wanted in Thailand but its location to the beach and plenty of eating venues is excellent. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast buffet was reasonable. Overall the price we paid for our visit made up for tthe western style of this hotel. We will return again.
