Houseboat Heaven!
My kids, husband and I loved staying here. The boat was very clean and comfortable, plenty of space for the 4 of us. The location can’t be beat. Sitting on the top deck in the evening was lovely. The Badger Island Marina staff are beyond friendly and wonderful. We loved every single thing about our stay.

The boat was fully equipped with everything that is needed for a weekend event. Loved the area for our first time house boat experience. We had a problem with the electricity and heat which required us to reach out to the emergency text number that was provided. No one got back to us so the night and morning was a bit chilly. The overall experience, we will return!!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Reef. The houseboat was amazing; it was clean, spacious and well furnished. The time spent on the top deck was splendid. The location is perfect being close to both Kittery and Portsmouth. We are already talking about our next stay in the future.

Perfection!
Wonderful experience on The Reef! Location was amazing, houseboat was beyond my expectations, gorgeous views, exceptionally clean, and great communication with property manager. Only negative was that our two night stay was too short! Will most definitely be back. A++++

Great location, perfect little spot!
Extremely comfy bright and clean stay in a fabulous location. Loved being able to walk to everything! The houseboat was a perfect spot for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens). Would absolutely stay again

A delight in every way.

Wonderful
We had perfect week visiting Portsmouth NH. and Kittery Me. Great restaurants, all the very nice shops with all types ot merchandise. We also visited some local historical attractions.

Perfect location.
Clean, updated and had everything one needs for a week away. The location was in easy walking distance to Pourtsmouth and the marina was lovely. I was not excited that my husband booked this boat but I was pleasantly surprised. I expected it would be a step above camping but it was better than many hotels and had plenty of hot water for a nice shower. The views of the passing boats and downtown Portsmouth were just awesome. Hope to be back again one day.

A special spot
The Reef houseboat is a really special experience. Perfectly situated with stunning views of Portsmouth and the Piscataqua river. Spotlessly, clean, very comfortably appointed (good bed linens!), and enhanced by the gentle rocking of the tidal current and the lovely deck above. The only snag was that the living room was described as having a pull out sofa, which it does not. Two beds were very comfortable, and an excellent shower given that it’s a boat! We look forward to a chance to stay again.

Wonderful boathouse - the Reef
Such a wonderful cool and unique experience! We love the ocean and the boat provides all the accommodations you would expect and then some! The roof deck overlooking Portsmouth is amazing with 360 views! We’ll be back! Thanks!

Unique experience on the river
The Reef is exactly as advertised. My wife was nervous that she was going to be sea sick, that was never an issue. We had morning coffee and evening wine up on the observation deck, it was wonderful. Portsmouth, a short pleasant walk over the bridge, was a beautiful fun place to hang out, have a drink, eat amazing food and walk around. I highly recommend the Reef!

Amazing place to stay
The views from the top deck were gorgeous. The boat was very clean and comfortable. Great beds, ACs in both bedrooms and the living room. Short walk to downtown Portsmouth. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kittery/Portsmouth.

great getaway!
Very clean houseboat and very responsive owners (we called because we couldn't figure out the TV and I received an email back right away and the problem was solved!) Beautiful getaway and Portsmouth nearby (walking) was amazing!!! Looking forward to another trip to "The Reef!"

Wonderful stay!
One of the best rental experiences we’ve had. It was the first time we’d been to the area and none of us had ever stayed on a houseboat before. The Reef was spotless; comfortable; Suzanne was wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, not all of our party was able to stay. Unknown to us, one of our party suffers from seasickness. Those of us that did stay had a wonderful experience!

Had a wonderful time. Property is clean, everything you need is provided. Dock master Mike is on hand to assist when needed. Kittery has great restaurants, nice place to hang out. Been here before and will be back again.

Great location and a fantastic experience
Suzanne was great at answering questions before we booked and I'm sure would've been during our stay but we just didn't have any! Clear info about parking and procedures was provided before we arrived. The Reef was super clean with all the necessities easily accessible, comfortable seating & sleeping for all. A quick walk into Portsmouth without the hassle of parking (or Uber) really made the vacation for us! We also enjoyed watching the bridge operate from the top deck. Brilliant rental. We will return!

Great option and super close to Portsmouth
We stayed in the house boat as an option when hotels were overpriced for graduation weekend. Marina was clean and quiet. House boat was clean and spacious. Roof top deck was a great option for space and spending time with the graduates. Communication with owner was great. It was a super short walk to all that Portsmouth has to offer.

A great way to celebrate our 30th anniversary!
It was wonderful being on the water after being out of boating for over 10 years. The Reef is just what we needed. Very comfortable arrangements, super location and great friends made our anniversary spectacular! BTW Darren, Kevin and crew were awesome! Thank you!

When can we do this again?
Our first and last thoughts were "when can we rent this again?" We had such a great stay. The dock master was very helpful in showing us around, and giving us local tips. Once we parked the car, we walked everywhere we wanted to go. Our first experience on a house boat, and had all of the amenities of home. I would say this boat is for couples only. anything more, and it will feel crowded.

We couldn't have had a better experience with this rental. The location is perfect to Portsmouth and Kittery. Very quiet and peaceful and right on the river. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Get Away
This was our 2nd time renting the Reef. It was great. Enjoyed coffee and drinks on the roof top deck and just sitting relaxing. Kevin the deck masters was awesome as usual. People in the marina very friendly.

This was a jewel. An beautiful boat in a fabulous location with the loveliest of harbor masters!!! The only caveat is that one must be able to deal with it a bit of rolling waves so if you have any sea sickness, this is not the venue for you. That being said, it is a must experience in life to view Portsmouth from across the River.

Celebrated a 50th Bday on The Reef houseboat
We had a wonderful experience staying on The Reef. Property was very clean, nicely decorated (IKEA -style) and roomy! In addition to 2 bdrms there were 1.5 baths…the extra toilet was nice for the cozy quarters. The living area was large enough to relax in the evening if you wanted to watch Netflix or play games. Kitchen prep area is only big enough for one person. The upper open air deck was wonderful for morning coffee, mimosa and pastries and perfect for happy hour in the evening. We loved the location because we were close enough to take short walks across the bridge into downtown Portsmouth too. This property was an excellent choice for a first time house boat experience! THANK YOU!

Boat and the marina are very clean and well maintained. Dock master Kevin is very knowledgeable and willing to assist with anything you may need. Suzanne is very interested in making your stay as pleasant as possible. Portsmouth is a great city, good restaurants, stores and a nice walking area. Short walk to good restaurants in Kittery also. We will be back !

Relaxing get away!
We stayed on the reef for a couple of days with great friends. Had a blast. Loved the boat house and the upper deck watching the boat traffic. The Deck master Kevin was AWSOME and very helpful. We definitely will be back.

On the water rest and relaxation
It was relaxing and fun watching the boats go by. The walk into downtown Portsmouth is beautiful because you have to walk over the Memorial Bridge. It has wide sidewalks on both sides.

Lovely Experience
This was a wonderful place to gather with a small group of friends. The place is as described and it's lovely to be able to enjoy the harbor while tucked into the home. It's got everything you need and we really enjoyed the upper deck during the beautiful New England fall.

The boat was just as pictured. It was spotless. The beds were super comfy. There was plenty of room for 4 people to stay comfortably. It had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was great. I would highly recommend staying. There are a few restaurants within walking distance and the view from the top deck is lovely. Views on the Piscataqua
The Reef is a lovely boat with everything you could need to make yourself happy. It has a great little kitchen, nice entertaining area, 2 queens beds and 1.5 baths. It sites in a lovely marina and great views of Kittery & Portsmouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our host was wonderful and helped us with everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here. We loved it!

Wonderful (and safe) getaway
We have been coming to Suzanne's houseboat for a number of years now. It is a beautiful, well-appointed respite on the always fascinating Piscataqua River with a scenic view of the Portsmouth downtown and amazing Memorial bridge. With COVID concerns hampering our travel plans this summer, we knew this would be a safe, wonderful getaway. (Suzanne is extremely diligent about disinfecting etc.) Portsmouth is an easy walk over the bridge, so you have the best of both worlds.

Loved staying on The Reef!
We had a great stay on The Reef and wish we could have stayed longer. It is very clean, and was even more spacious than it looked in pics. Loved the location. Sitting on the roof deck, watching the boats go by was great. Plus perfect spot for walking to restaurants right near the marina or walking across the bridge to Portsmouth. Suzanne was very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend and definitely will plan to stay here again.

Great little gem!
My husband and I greatly enjoyed a little getaway on this houseboat. Communication before hand was wonderful. When we arrived, they hand hand sanitizer for us and disinfectant spray which was a nice gesture during these times. It was about a 20 minute walk into Portsmouth which was awesome! We walked around downtown during the day and it was a quick drive to pick up dinner at night. We had terrible weather so didn’t get to enjoy the roof top deck as much as we had hoped but when we did it was beautiful! The couch was not the most comfortable but I wouldn’t have noticed if we hadn’t been forced to stay in most of the time(it was still cozy inside!). As for sleeping on the house boat, I barely noticed the rocking. During the day it rocked as boats went by but at night it was quiet and easy to fall asleep. The beds were very comfortable too! I highly recommend staying here!!

Uniquely Wonderful Family Vacation

Spectacular!
I just left after 4 nights and want to live on The Reef all summer, every year! The roof deck is where we spent every morning for coffee and sunset for cocktails. The four of us were very comfortable inside; two private rooms with separate bathrooms. Nice space for living room kitchen. Marina has toilets if you’re more comfortable (#2) up there. Shower on board is fine, not huge of course, because you are on a boat! Very easy walk over bridge to all the shops & restaurants in Portsmouth. Even closer is a pizza place (yummy), fancy restaurant (never tried) and a cute little coffee/breakfast place. Back to that deck/view...we would just stare at the boats going by, Portsmouth, seagulls eating crabs on the dock, and enjoying sunrise & sunset. Boat can rock a bit if a big boat goes by but you get used to it immediately and adds to the adventure. Bottom line: if you are looking at this and have read this far, just book it! Safe area, door to boat locks, friendly/quiet area.

What a fun few days. We stayed on the Vagabond last year and had a great visit. We decided to do it again. This time we stayed on the Reef. Both boats were very clean and decorated so cute. They are very well stocked with all the essentials. There were 4 adults. We each had our own room and bathrooms. The whole marina was nice. We BBQ one night and sat at the picnic table and watched the boats in the harbor. What a great view. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. Will definitely go back again
