New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. “Wonderful place to stay, a true country guesthouse. Easy 10 minute walk from Ambleside. The mountain view from my room was stunning, watching the evening sun over the Fairfield Horseshoe. So peaceful, the only noises you'll hear are sheep and birds. Highly recommended.”

I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask. “The hotel is very well maintained, and staff were excellent. The breakfast was disappointing, as the only fruit available was an indifferent fruit salad. No prunes, grapefruit, peaches fresh strawberries etc. The only hotel I have stayed in where the cold buffet lacked fruit. The toaster (as is usual) either under toasts or almost burns the toast”
