“We stayed in the Garden Cottage for a week and cannot recommend it for longer stays. While the property manager responded to our texts and generally sent maintenance within 24 hours, the property suffers from poor upkeep and temporary fixes. Our issues started at check-in when our entry code failed, and no one answered the phone, forcing us to communicate solely via text. Upon entry, the unit smelled strongly of marijuana, the bedroom closet door was broken, and a ceiling fan blade was hanging……

“Room was dirty with used towels and hair from the previous guest. They would not honor the confirmed price from my Feb '26 reservation. They said it was due to new ownership of the hotel. New ownership is not American owned and feels like they don' t care about basic American hotel standards. Receptionist was only two months old with the company and had no idea her bosses names or their contact information. There was no way for me to reach out to them to discuss these issues. The Canoe……

“The cozy one bedroom hotel turned out to be a windowless closet. Because we objected so strongly to the host he was able to put us into a cottage since we were only staying for the one night. The cottage was acceptable except for the bed ..the picture on the website was not the room they were going to give us. Check-in said tell them you’re renting the front living room . There was just enough room for the bed and the toilet squeezed between two walls.”
