"We were headed north to Durness, but the snow, dark, and road conditions required us to stop last minute in Ullapool. I made our room reservation sitting at the gas station down the street. Despite us being late and very last minute, the staff welcomed us warmly (thank you, Linda!), in less than a minute we were set up in our room. The accommodations were excellent--clean and modern but set within an older authentic hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and we slept well. Although we only spent <18 hours in Ullapool, we're now eager to go back and learn more about the town. We'll definitely hope to stay at the Caledonian again. "

"Paul was a very friendly host adding nice touches such as fresh milk in the fridge for the supplied tea, coffee and biscuits. Started a fire in the wood stove and it was such a cozy evening. Really lovely place. "

"Cruachan Holiday Home is a superb property for a vacation stay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with all the amenities required for a very very comfortable stay. The large property with its garden and the views are gorgeous. The property management was at all times very very responsive and helpful. This would be one of our top recommendations to anyone wishing to stay around Lochinver."

"The guesthouse and the host, Brian, were great.
Due to a booking error, I was able to book the accommodation even though they were closed.
Brian still gave us a warm welcome and upgraded our room free of charge.
He gave us tips for a good restaurant and even made a reservation for us!
The breakfast was delicious and lovingly prepared.
We would definitely recommend this hostel; it was simply fantastic!"
