Great Family Run Hotel/Spa/Restaurant
Amazing Stefano Family run hotel/spa/restaurant. Upgraded to larger bed. Nice spa facility. Food at restaurant and service were great. Peaceful and serene. Only negative is the sketchy narrow road to the hotel, but some nice overlooks and views.

Nice hotel in quiet town
We were on a month-long road trip in Italy and wanted to avoid big cities and tourists traps. We randomly picked Albergo Moderno for a stay after visiting Milan. The town is small so it was very relaxing and great that excellent food was available at Moderno. We even returned at the end of our trip before returning home via Milan.

A cozy retreat nested up in the Alps.
A cozy, family-run small hotel in a tiny village up in the Alps. The extra twenty minutes required for climbing up the hill are more than rewarded by the warm hospitality and atmosphere of that location. The restaurant serves home-made local and Italian dishes, with a great variety of wines to accompany it.

Comfy inn with great food
We have extended our stay at this inn. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great, the owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. The cost is very affordable.

Hotel was great, lovely and friendly staff, shame it's nearly at the top of the mountain, lovely views but the 20 min drive from the main road was an issue, there is a lovely bar and pizzeria a few minutes walk too

Hotel Moderno
I must say that my stay at the Moderno was made by my host. The food was really good cooked well. Stefan made me feel really welcome. The hotel was spotlessly clean to boot. Once you get over the location and the mountain roads. I prayed going up and coming down lol. I used it as a base to go travelling daily and it's very quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend

Best host ever! We arrived very late at night and found Stefano still up and totally tuned in to what we needed. He prepared a nice plate of meats and cheese and even veg crepe. And a bottle of red wine of course. Albergho Moderno is a great place to stay

Great experience
We had a fantastic time. Albergo Moderno is quite off the beaten path, somehow we had misestimated where it was in relation to our target (it was listed as a Lake Como area property ....), but all the same a lovely experience. This is a traditional European style pensione where the proprietor prepares the meals, manages the bookings, etc. Located at the summit in Valle Imagna, the view (and drive) was breathtaking, the air lovely and the experience fantastic.

Fantastic location, provided you don't mind driving round the hairpin bends to get there. Well worth it though. Peaceful location and dramatic scenery. Friendly staff and excellent food. Great location for walkers.

It was snowing and raining so I decided to find a cheap hotel instead of spending another night in the tent.( I have been travelling Europe by Motorbike) I was lookng for the cheapest option, but although I didn't pay so much, I really think I struck gold. A little out of the way, but charming, and friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and I really enjoyed taking time out to watch the snow come down, Room was small but spotless with a comfy bed. Would like to come back in the summer next time to enjoy walking in the surrounding hills.

Place to enjoy nature and excellent food
We loved the place, excellent service by Canella Family. Nice area for hiking Resegone. After a hiking day you can relax and enjoy excellent food in hotel restaurant. We stayed there first 3 nights and extended to 4 to explore whole menu. Very good breakfast. If you want to explore surroundig areas by car, it takes time to climb up to Fuipiano. So I suggest to relax and enjoy the nature.

Food in the restaurant was top class, local produce, big portions, reasonable price and very tasty. The manager Stefano was extremely helpful and friendly. Although the room was clean and comfortable, some small improvements could be made, soundproofing should be done as we could hear every noise in adjoining rooms and corridor. Towels provided were a bit rough and aged, there should be four pillows in the double rooms as two flat pillows werent enough. These small complaints didnt take away from it being a nice hotel. Highly recommended for the food and the warm welcome.

Hotell moderno Bergamo
Really nice 3 star hotell with very good service,but you need to rent a car as it` s a 45 min drive from Bergamo airport. This is a family run hotell and it`s perfect for quiet getaways,it`s up in the hills so don t expect wild nightlife,but you can always rent a car to Bergamo.Lovely staff who will go out of their way to make you confortable. If they dont present you with what you prefer to eat at breakfast,just ask and you`ll get it.Perfect for couples on a honeymoon.

A Gem Lost in the Mountains of Lombardy
I sought a hotel with 10 miles of Lecco. It was - as the crow flies! But it was about 50 miles by road. And what a road, the last 20 miles from Bergamo being narrow, winding and twisting impossibly, and always up, up and higher up. But the instructions were good - just keep following the signs to Fuipiano Valle Imagna - and ultimately there we were. During the crazy climb we thought that we had made a big mistake in choosing this place, but once we arrived we considered it one of the highlights of our vacation. Stefano, who runs the place, is an ace, and his dad, who is the chef, whips up a mean meal. Stefano speaks excellent English. If you are into mountain walking, or serious sight-seeing, or just want an idyllic place close to the heavens and far from the frenzied world down below, then this is the place for you.

We booked our stay at the hotel based on the reviews we read on trip advisor and we weren't disapointed. Directions were good, so found hotel quite easily. Really is at the top of a mountain, as described and takes about 1/2 to get to the top. Fabulous views, Stefano was very welcoming, Food was good.

Albergo Moderno, a lovely place
We had booked this hotel, thinking it was not far from Lake Como. Actually, it is not, but way up a mountain, resulting in a drive of about 90 minutes. However, everything else about this place made up for it. The drive up there takes you through gorgeous scenery on tiny mountain roads. When you arrive, you are in a charming little village with a row of historic stone cottages. It is family run and very friendly. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner one night. It was the best meal we had in Italy at a very reasonable price. The stay here was one of the highlights of our trip to northern Italy.

I would say you would definately need a car - as long as you are a confident driving! we found that driving around was one of the best parts! Gorgeous scenery and beautiful food at the hotel! Although the hotel is set up in the mountains we struggled to find routes to walk on so i would suggest you research this before you leave as we didnt and didnt really know what was private land and what wasn't! Altogether though if you want a holiday with gorgeous scenery and good food then this is the place for you!!!

This place won me over in the end!
I had my doubts when I first arrived... it took forever to get there by car, and the hotel didn't strike me as modern or comfortable. The room seemed a bit small, and the TV was tiny. But when we got settled in and we realised how hospitable the owner and his family were, we ended up loving the place. The owners seemed to do whatever was required to keep customers happy - they certainly work hard. They prepared food for us very late in the evening when we arrived, and it was very tasty. They also prepared a 'picnic' breakfast for us because we had to leave before normal serving times on our last day. All in all, we were very happy with the place and we were sad to go.

Outstanding Experience
The accomodations at this hotel are very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent. Everything is made from scratch, and plentiful! The owners are very warm and wonderful people. Didn't want to leave!! The location was a wonderful surprise. It is way up on the mountain and the views on the way up are spectacular.

This hotel is a little gem, we couldn't believe the standard for the price we paid. The service from the owner Stefano and staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful. The room though fairly small was very clean. The food is terrific and the house wine is highly recommended too. We'll be going back.

I was on a bussiness trip and although the hotel is a bit out of town the scenery makes up for that. The staff were very friendly. Even arriving at 23:30 one night they still served me dinner. They went out of their way to make it comfortable for me. Will definately stay there again on my next trip. Would really recommend staying here.

This is a country inn with an unassuming style which offers good quality accommodation and food. Fuipiano is a quiet village at the head of Valle Imagna, reached by fairly narrow and winding roads - 30km and about 50 minutes from Bergamo. There are excellent views. The proprietors/staff are friendly and welcoming - how nice for once to find truly hospitable people in the hospitality business! The hotel and restaurant offer very good value for money.
