Construction

Posted Jan 16, 2017
The hotel is probably fine most of the time. But it is currently under construction. Which we didn't know until we arrived. The "lobby" is a conference room on the sixth floor. The restaurant and fitness center are closed. You'd think, given that many of its amenities are closed, the hotel would comp wi-fi or discount the rooms or something. You'd be wrong. You're paying full price for half a hotel.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to give us a review. I'm as disappointed as you are that you did not receive our communication in regards to the renovation. We have communicated this on our own website, confirmation and pre-arrival emails as well as 3rd party channels. We should be done with all major upgrades by mid of next month. Thank you once again and we hope you can come back and check us out once all is complete.

Nice but not 4 star as advertised.

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Pros: Location is the main reason we stay there. Close to friends in area as well as things we like to do. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
Cons: Better design overall. The food served is good, but too much spice in too many items on menu. If you don't want spicy appetizer there is very little.
Location: Mostly friends who live nearby, but Westwood Village is right there and we like that. Close to Santa Monica and other beach areas.
This was 4th stay and this time we stayed in a renovated room which was nicer than previously. It was lacking in furniture. The dresser/chest is nicer looking and doors are easier to open when you open mini bar. There was a large space with the floor lamp and then a small ottoman that made no sense. There should be either a chair/chaise in the space, or a small table and chairs. Rooms could have used a good designer. The mural is nothing special and didn't make any sense with other furnishings. However, they are nicer than before.

Not worth the money

Posted Dec 19, 2016
We read that the hotel restaurant was being renovated but we were unaware that the lobby was as well. Everything was very cramped. The lobby and breakfast areas were in tight quarters and the rooms were small. We expected more from the pictures. Not impressed and would not recommend. Valet staff were very nice though!

Beware - remodeling/under construction!

Posted Dec 3, 2016
Pros: Not much except the full-sized shampoo and conditioner in the tub/shower.
Cons: Valet cost, hotel cost, hotel personnel....
Location: Awesome location - near UCLA campus, Ronald Regan Hospital, Interstate 405, Beverly Hills, awesome shopping, etc.
None of the hotel personnel out at the Valet bothered to mention that you have to get on the elevator and go up to the 6th floor for check-in. Once up there, hotel staff was far from friendly - very monotone and matter-of-fact. The room was fine but the pillows were large and very firm. Upon waking at 7:30, within a few minutes the construction noise started. First hammering and then what sounded like a impact wrench (not what I care to hear before 8:00 a.m.). The room was over expensive and overnight parking is excessively high!! You have no other option for parking since there's no parking on Wilshire Blvd.

I should have been informed by Expedia, that the hotel was under renovation. It was noisy, dusty . No restaurant or lobby. It was shocking and I blame Expedia. You should have informed me
