Perfect little spot!
Super quaint little cottage, exactly what we needed. The hosts are incredibly sweet and accommodating. The view is of open farmland with mountians in the distance. The sun sets off the back of the cottage and theres a wonderful view. Really wonderful spot!

Wonderful stay!
We had a great time here! The location was super close and convenient to town and the caverns. Our hosts were very welcoming and even gifted us a few farm-fresh eggs for breakfast to get us settled. 100% would stay here again for another visit to Luray.

Amazing Weekend Getaway
Ed and Betsy went above and beyond for our stay. Incredible cookies were waiting for us on arrival and we had 6 farm fresh eggs in the fridge that we ate before a hike to Old Rag. If you’re looking for a unique and serene place with proximity to the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah, you have found it here!

Perfection!
This was the perfect spot to relax! The property is beautiful, the cottage is incredibly clean and the hosts so friendly. The amenities were just as described in the listing; the kitchen is equipped with anything you need to prepare meals, the jetted tub was a nice alternative to the hot tub as it was a very windy and cold weekend during our stay and the king size bed is really comfortable. This trip was a weekend escape for us, an opportunity to recharge and we had the best time!

Wonderful getaway
We felt very at home here, and absolutely enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfy, and we loved finishing each day with a dip in the hot tub. We enjoyed meeting all the resident dogs and kitty, especially. Waking up to the farm views every morning was just magical! The location was only about 15 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah National Park, 5 minutes from downtown Luray, and maybe 10 minutes from the Luray Caverns. Truly the perfect spot to sightsee and relax.

Cozy and peaceful, great stay
Definitely an underpromise/overdeliver situation. Small but every modern convenience and cleverly organized and stocked. Charmingly decorated with what look like antique pieces. Kitchen, though small, was so well equipped I could have cooked a gourmet meal. "Basic soaps" = so many things to choose from all we needed of our own was toothbrush/toothpaste. Personal touches like holiday decor, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, etc., and warm welcome from hosts made one feel like a houseguest, not a paying customer. Loved the fresh eggs. Very peaceful quiet property but close to conveniences too. I wish I had remembered to bring binoculars for bird watching, there were indeed many. Would rebook!

Girls weekend
My friend and I decided to take a girls trip and this was the perfect little cottage. It was so close to everything in Luray. The cottage itself had everything you needed. The jetted tub was awesome. The hot tub was perfect with a lovely view of the pastures and mountains. It was a wonderful slice of heaven for the weekend. I look forward to returning with my husband next time.

Cozy Stay
We chose this spot as it was close to a wedding venue and I was in the wedding party. The location of this place was convenient to get to and from all the wedding festivities. We fell in love with this cozy cottage. Bonus was we got to take our small yorkie with us so we wouldnt have to board him. We are hoping to return and stay here in again to fully enjoy a stay at this lovely little spot. Thanks to the owners for making us feel welcome.

Perfect cottage in a perfect location
The owners Ed & Betsy are amazing! We enjoyed talking with them & staying in their cottage on the property. The cottage was clean, well stocked (pots, pans, utensils, towels, etc), perfect in every way! Ed met us when we arrived & gave a wonderful tour of everything to ensure we were all set for a great weekend. The hot tub was so nice under the covered porch & the views were breath taking. The roads getting to the cottage were all nice paved roads so no worries about narrow gravel scary roads while driving to and from. The cottage is perfect location and only 3 miles to downtown Luray. They did a great job decorating the cottage and being amazing hosts from great places to visit, allowing us to enjoy their pets (cats, dogs, horses & chickens) & conversation. This is a 5 star place for 2 ppl looking for a great getaway. Thank you Ed & Betsy for helping make my daughter's 21st bday one to remember. If you are looking for a quiet place with great hosts close to breweries, distilleries, wineries, Luray Caverns, & all the area has to offer this is the perfect place to stay.

The cottage was fantastic Betsy and Ed were wonderful host their doll cricket was fantastic with catnip the cat watching the horses in the back was also beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and hoped to be able to bring my husband back with me next time

The villa in Virginia
The place is just awesome for a couple weekend hideaway. The apartment was spacious and clean and had all the amenities if you wanted to stay in and cook. I highly recommend this place you wont be disappointed.

Tranquil setting
We loved the quiet beautiful setting of this cottage. We were looking for big sky views with birds chirping, and did nothing but hang out there for two days. The hosts were lovely and the cottage was decorated beautifully without it being too much. The fresh eggs for breakfast were a treat. We’d definitely go back again!

Ravens Roost
I go to many cabins when we're in need of rest... I have to be honest this is by far the best.. It is so comfortable peace to us it brings... Life seems to beat you up with so many little things.. My husband and I were stressed going day to day... But thanks to this little rest we have found our way.. The cabin is just beautiful it gave us such a boost.. Whenever we're in need of rest, we'll head to Raven's Roost..

Cutest Cottage on a Farm
Absolutely LOVED our stay at this cottage. The owners are so kind and the space was perfect for my husband and I. The hot tub (SoftTub) was perfect after a day of hiking and the property and views are stunning. Would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Away from Kids
We live in DMV and lucky enough to have family in town and came to Luray for a weekend to ourselves. Check in was a breeze! The hot tub was a God send to help release all the stress of the hustle and bustle of "The Mixing Bowl" traffic we deal with daily. Hosts are lovely and attentive when needed but also gave us privacy even though the main house is right next door to the place we stayed. If you book, Luray Caverns are definitely a must do! While in town Compass Tea is a great place for a cuppa and conversation. Blue Sheppard Spirits is new to the scene but makes AMAZING cocktails!

Anniversary Getaway
This little cottage was EXACTLY what we needed. Clean, warm, quiet and surprisingly private for being so close to the owners house. Hot tub was clean and warm on the chilly nights. Loved the bonfire after dinner. The bed was huge and so comfy. My only suggestion would be a few additional bathroom hooks for wet towels. We will definitely be back.

Adorable house and peaceful stay
My husband and I came up to VA for some mountain hiking and this place was perfect! Very close to Shenandoah, only a few mins from town, it was quiet and gorgeous with horses and a friendly cat and dogs that we loved. Didn’t get to use the hot tub this time, but it looked really nice. If we get to come back up here for another hiking trip, I’d stay here again!

My spouse and I booked the Cottage for a couple’s Thanksgiving along with our Pup! The cottage has great pasture and Mountain Views. Betsy made us feel very welcome and even played with our pup, Walker for a moment. We would definitely recommend it for a weekend getaway

Highly recommend Raven’s Roost Cottage!
We loved our time away at the cottage! Ed (and Raven the cat) were so helpful when we checked in and showed us around the property. The space was very clean and a perfect size for us, you’ll want to be outside enjoying the view as much as possible. It was so nice having breakfast watching the horses and going outside and getting love from the cats. Betsy gave a great hike recommendation and we loved getting to chat with her & Ed and meet the dogs on our way out! We definitely want to come back again, two nights goes too fast. A perfect getaway from the noise & lights of the city, thank you Betsy & Ed!

Amazing property and even more amazing hosts! Clean, cozy, comfy cottage with amazing views. Betsy and Ed are very friendly, kind, and go out of their way to ensure your stay is terrific. Best Kept Secret in VA!!
The cottage at Raven’s Roost is a little slice the heaven! The 360 degree view surrounding the cottage is absolutely breathtaking, and the cottage itself was well stocked, beautifully decorated, and far exceeded our expectations. Watching the horses peacefully graze in the fields, as the fog rose every morning, was a wonderful start to each day. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus after a long day of hiking. Ed and Betsy were such kind and gracious hosts, always available if needed, (and such a pleasure to talk to!) but very respectful of privacy. We were sad to leave, and are looking forward to coming back again soon!

A very relaxing getaway spot!
We had a long weekend at the lovely cottage and had a great time unwinding - a lovely view of the land with three horses grazing in the morning and evening. We adored the beautiful pottery collection that decorated the property. The owners were friendly, and so were their pets - three dogs and a cat. We even bought farm-fresh eggs from the owners of the property, and they were AMAZING! We liked them so much that we brought home 7 dozens to share with families. If you plan to buy eggs for breakfast while you are staying at the property, definitely get them from the owners; their price is way better than the farmer's market. Overall, we had a great time relaxing after a hike at the Shenandoah National Park each day. Great place to rent! -Mia
