Good location and decent accommodations

Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Bathrooms could use updating, decor could be refreshed
Location: Lots of great restaurants nearby. The Graft is excellent for dinner and The Merchant for cocktails. We also enjoyed walking around the UW Arboretum.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. Location was convenient to the Capitol area as well as close to the water and despite being in a popular area, our room was quiet. In terms of the facilities, this hotel was decent but I felt like it was in need of a bit of updating. Our bathroom shower felt a bit dingy, and the make-up mirror on the wall was broken. These are small things, but just reflective of some wear and tear. Certainly, this is a nice hotel and Hilton's are usually pretty consistent in quality, I just think they could use a bit of a facelift.

Pros: It was close to a lot of things to do in the shuttle took you there really like that
Cons: Updating
Location: There was some really good places to eat nearby friendly people that
Had a really good time staff was very nice and helpful

Pros: location was good. Building and room were well maintained.
Cons: A single bed (preferably king size) for a single person. Heater maintenance.
I received a room with double beds (though only I checked in), and a noisy heater. There was also an additional charge for parking, after I inquired about it, the clerk neglected to inform me that street parking was regulated during winter months, so I received a parking ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street (there were plenty of spaces on the correct side of the street, and had I known about the parking regulations, would have moved my car across the street).

Great place to stay, will be a guest there again. Walking distance from downtown Madison, and the Kohl Center.

Hotel stay

Pros: I liked the restaurants in the hotel and room service.
Cons: When I checked in the person checking me in didn't explain where everything was. I had to ask.
My experience was great. The room was clean, the staff were very helpful. I like that there was a parking garage.

Pros: online
Cons: forgot to replace dirty towels
Location: near college
Comfortable beds, pillows, and linens. Nice Staff and attached restaurants. convenient location

Heating/AC units powered by battleship engines

Room heating and AC units sound like they are powered by surplus battleship engines. The racket is astounding. The same thing occurred two weeks ago in a different room which I wrote off to chance - not so! I couldn't sleep - I won't be back. Also, since I am unimpressed by artisanal soap and chrome waste baskets there was nothing better than adequate about this hotel.

"exclusive Executive Lounge"

Pros: location, comfortable, pretty quite rooms
Cons: at least in this instance, customer service. really, how much would it have cost them extra to comps 2 drinks that they advertised we should have had.
booked one of their "executive rooms: "1 KING BED DELUXE ROOM LAKEVIEW" said gave access to: "exclusive Executive Lounge" "vibrant Capitol Club" website says: "Executive Room perks include complimentary breakfast and beverages in our exclusive Executive Lounge." http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/wisconsin/hilton-madison-monona-terrace-MSNMHHF/index.html We checked in and when in room I called down to ask about the Executive lounge, how late open, where at. They informed me then there was a wedding and we could not have access to that floor. I let them know part of reason booked room (for wife and I a night once 6-12 months away from kids) to have a drink before we went out to eat. Since they had two other lounges, and since the drinks were to be free in the Executive lounge I asked if they could comp us couple drinks at one of the other two lounges in lobby area. She put me on hold and then came back and said they could not do that but would give us two free breakfasts. My room already came with complimentary breakfasts and we don't eat in the hotel anyway as big part of why we stay in the area is there are very good options to try outside the hotel. So that was that, no other offer, not a sorry, nothing. She said that is all they could do since I booked thru Expedia. I did not push at time as was just glad to have night away but was very disappointed especially since this was one of their highest cost rooms and was advertised.

Valet/ Doorman advised ran out of parking. Gave poor directions to alt lot- and wouldn't validate or compensate error and inconvenience as booked through Expedia. GA's reservations at expensive hotel restaurant - sat us at half wall separating the bar. Loud drunk people on other side placing empty glasses on rail above our heads was not cool. Waiter and food were good.

good position to city attractions

the main problem for us was the refurbishment of the hotel security ,which meant , to us ,was the fact of 2 types of keys in use ,and sometimes ,no keys were workable ,so, trying to contact a hotel operative ,late in the evening ,to operate the car park gate was tedious .The hotel and staff were good for us
