Shop the famous Manama Souq, spend an afternoon in the world-class Bahrain National Museum and watch a live performance at the Bahrain National Theater, all of which celebrate and preserve the past.

Visit Manama’s characterful neighborhoods of Manama Center, Al Hoora and Juffair. Discover historic mosques in Manama Center, including Jai Shri Krishna Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in the Gulf region, and the Yateem Mosque, which houses an elaborately carved mihrab indicating the direction of Mecca.

Dine and dance in Al Hoora, recognized as the entertainment and nightlife capital of the city, with numerous hotels, restaurants and both Arabic and Western-style nightclubs along Exhibitions Avenue. Nearby, learn about Bahrain culture at the Beit Al Quran, with one of the world’s most esteemed collections of Islamic manuscripts and art, and browse the rotating exhibitions at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art. Al Hoora is also home to the expansive Gosi Shopping Complex.

The Juffair neighborhood has a lively feel, with many expats and young professionals making their homes here. While you’re in the area, don’t miss the impressive Al Fateh Mosque, the international restaurants lining Al Shabab Avenue and the popular Juffair Mall.
