"I think this is my fourth or fifth stay at The White Inn. My first stay was April 2018, and my last was just before the pandemic in September 2019. I've been travelling to Cambodia since 2022 but decided to switch back to Laos for a change. After my first stay in 2018, I recall posting something along the lines of "I can't see any reason why I'd stay someone else in Nong Khai." And I haven't. Lift has improved in speed and the cleanliness, room comfort, quietness, and staff professionalism is still five stars. I arrived earlier than expected so I left my passport for the well spoken receptionist to scan and went for lunch at one of the local restaurants. Came back. All ready to go. It may sound odd, but I'm fairly sure I've stayed in that same room at least twice before. Anyway, a comfortable, enjoyable experience with bottled water, good water pressure, and a hard comfortable bed. And the pricing is spot on, too. 700 or so Baht a night. Will return again next year."

"Mut Mee Gardens is exactly what I hoped for in a tropical guesthouse. The rooms were well-cared for and accommodating, without ostentation. It's a casual place where you easily can spend the day lounging on your room's veranda or under a common palapa in the gardens. The gardens, and most rooms, face the promenade along the Mekong, so you can walk - or borrow one of their bikes - for miles along the river, and there's little if any motor vehicle noise. The street markets are nearby, either along the promenade or a couple blocks inland. There's a very friendly resident dog and a couple of cats. Mosquitoes are present, of course, but each room has a mosquito net for the bed, as well as aircon. Food is good; coffee could use some attention. It's a lovely garden and inn."

"Great staff but resort very run down and poorly maintained and not presented very well. Wouldn’t take much effort or expense to make it a lot more presentable. Breakfast buffet was limited but very good what they did have for options. "

"This property is a mixed bag. Started off well when manager bought a hit water kettle for morning coffee when I asked about one in my room. But problems built over two weeks. Key cards failed 3 times. Air Con failed in last night. BTW I lost one of the key cards through a hole in my pocket, and was charged a ludicrous 400 baht for it. On two nights, neighbors packed in an adjacent room had loud drunken parties late into the evening. Eventually management did quiet them down, but, having already had to change rooms due to loud wrecking ball construction outside my window, I wasn’t in the mood. There is no elevator to the upper floors. The “balconies” are just a 2x2 outdoor space where smokers can do their thing - no chair, no table, and definitely no view. The price was reasonable, but it’s quite easy to find better for the same or less. The location is very good, a short walk to great little riverfront walking street, 7/11, ATMs, and excellent night street food."
