The location of the hotel provides a beautiful view of the water and Osaka Castle (if you request a castle view). It's in easy walk to the train station, and the nearby Osaka Jo Hall area has many restaurants and some shops. Other than that, there is not a whole lot in the immediate area, but a quick train ride will get you to more bustling areas of Osaka. You are well-situated for the Osaka Castle park area. The hotel restaurants are all pricey though and more high end, so not for casual diners. The staff was great and the rooms are more spacious than hotels that we booked in Tokyo, so it was nice to have the space (we had a room with 3 twin beds that had a 2-sink bathroom). The property and surrounding area is very clean and safe.

The staff and service at the Hotel New Otani are fabulous! The location is very convenient to two different train options and within walking distance to the IMP building which has multiple fast food, coffee and convenience store options. The hotel itself has many different high-end restaurants and a very nice lounge on the top floor overlooking Osaka Castle and the downtown area. There are also some boutiques, jewelry and art shops in the lobby. There are definitely many pluses at the hotel. The only thing to mention is that the facilities are a little tired and in need of renovation. Don’t get me wrong, everything is well maintained, but we couldn’t help but feeling that we were in a property that use to be luxurious and splendid many years ago, but could use some modernizing and updates, for instance, no USB plugs in the room, older bathroom and lights, locker rooms at the pool and gym facilities felt a bit outdated. I would still stay here again, due to the superb staff and other qualities mentioned previously. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hotel is very close to Osaka castle but not close to city centre. You can use JR Osaka loop line or subway to go main city area around in 30 min. But it's nice place to live without the hassle to live in the centre.

The restaurants are pricey and there is a charge to use the pool. Otherwise hotel washrooms are dates, rooms are large, area is peaceful. A few places to eat nearby.

This is a 5-star hotel that dates from the 1960s. It has been impeccably maintained, but travellers should know that some of the features seem rather dated in the context of 2024. For example, rooms have bath showers rather than separate showers. Some of the furniture was weary, e.g. chairs with sagging upholstery. Likewise, if you want to use the gym and pool you pay for it - up to ¥6,000 to ¥7,000 per visit! Buffet breakfast is good rather than great, and costs over ¥4,000. There was drip filter coffee only, no expresso coffee we could find. If these things don't worry you, it is a very comfortable 5-star hotel with good sized rooms.

Staff at New Otani Osaka were absolutely amazing. When I I had some trouble with a different hotel where I had stayed, New Otani staff helped me communicate with staff at the other hotel who didn't speak English. They also helped me navigate several other situations where fluent knowledge of Japanese was necessary. New Otani staff also provided umbrellas, tons of helpful directions and suggestions, and helped make my stay really wonderful. The breakfast buffet was the best ever, with both Western and Japanese style breakfast foods available. My favorite was the morning curry!

This place is magnificent! My children thought we had walked into a fancy shopping mall. Brightly lit and beautiful. First class service as we were greeted AT the door, led to the check in desk, and a porter carried our luggage to our room doors and unlocked them for us. Wow! Rooms are quite large and comfortable. Beautiful view of Osaka Castle. This is an older hotel that could eventually use bathroom updates to match the rest of its appearance; however everything was clean and functional.

The Hotel is beautiful and sourounding area, but the room I reserved is too small for 4 people. They should give me 2 queen beds instead of 4 twin beds. Otherwise, I didn't expected the hotel was so beautiful!

Service and location was great. Unfortunately, the condition of the hotel rooms were below average. The room smelled like smoke with a very old bathroom and furniture. This is not a 4 star hotel. The ratings are not accurate. Also gym and pool require a fee for using.
