“The room was very nice. The staff was amazing!! Shakira checked us in after a long trip and was so nice the entire time. Front Desk girls were always greeting us with big smiles and plans for the day and Zee made us feel like family. But honestly all the staff was great. Zee was the absolute best ever from fulfilling all the needs to tips and tricks of the area. The lobby area and breakfast was great, fully stocked and spacious. Kids welcome. Our granddaughter was treated like a movie star.……

When we first arrived I thought the room was old and dated, but the cleanliness made up for it. “For the price it was excellent. They had some things like the bed and the shower head. The bed was squeaky and moved a lot when rolling over or repositioning. The shower head leaked quit a bit which was quite annoying. Some plumbers tape and a crescent wrench should fix that. Other than that it was excellent! Security cameras and nice little courtyard. It was cozy and clean.”

“Nice building. Good security and indoor parking. Nice area. Dog friendly. Some things were disappointing. There are two outdoor pools and a hot tub. Of these three amenities, only one of the pools was functional during our time there. The other pool and the hot tub were empty and the area around them was fenced off. The one working pool for a large building was always very busy. The advertising is also misleading in that the beach is about a kilometer (half mile) away. ”

![I was fortunate to be invited to spend some time at the Mar-A-Lago ("mahr-ah-lahgo") Club.

 Built in  1924-1927 by Marjorie Merriweather Post and designed by Joseph Urban. When she died in 1973 she willed the 17-acre estate to the U.S. Government as a retreat for Presidents and visiting foreign dignitaries. 

The Mar-A- Lago  Club is currently a  private club owned by Donald Trump. Trump paid $ 10 million for the estate in 1985. After acquiring the property in 1985, Trump had the property extensively renovated, with 58 bedrooms, 33 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces ( because it gets so cold in Florida ), and three bomb shelters,, because....?.  The  estate also has five clay and one grass tennis court with a waterfront pool  and a  20,000-square-foot ballroom. The name Mar-A-Lago is Spanish for "Sea to Lake".
