Historical Haven is a unique cottage that will not disappoint. This renovated circa 1840 Dry Goods/General Store is located on Merchants Row in the historic town of Perryville, KY. Take a step back in time as you visit one of the only intact 19th-century mercantile districts in the nation. Enjoy a historical walking tour and do some shopping as you take in the scenery. With riverside views and a large deck it’s an ideal place to stay for a Bourbon Trail excursion, a visit to Centre College in Danville, attend a local wedding, to visit the many historic attractions in the surrounding area, or just relax and unwind . An ideal place for short and long term stays for tourists and business travelers alike. Please note both bedrooms are located upstairs (stairs are steep) and only bathroom is located downstairs. Amazing historical property’
We loved this place… from the moment we walked In to the beautiful decor and coziness galore..we were so impressed by all the little special touches.. personal greeting included! The stone cellar was fascinating! The owners were friendly and responsive. We appreciated their extra details on history as well. The deck and park like area out back was so nice. The absolute only recommendation I’d have would be adding a side lamp to tv room area. Five star rating!

Ky Road Trip
It was a great place in a great location. The cottage was clean and well maintained with all the connivences desired. The location was close to the Perryville Battleground and while I am not a big civil war buff the small visitors center was exceptional. The location is also well centered for scenic day road trips through the bluegrass and bourbon country. The host was very attentive. Highly recommended.

Great place for our annual sister weekend
The place was just as pictured. It was a perfect size for me and my sister to meet up for the weekend. The shops right beside you were so friendly and welcoming. The steps upstairs were a bit of a challenge but we navigated them well. We used the grill for two of our meals. We also got a good start on a 1000 piece puzzle. If we are staying in the area again we will be sure to look you up. Do you have other VRBO places that you own? Cathy and Nancy

Things that should be included in the listing. Bedrooms are up steep narrow stairs Only bathroom is downstairs at very inconvenient location Property is on a busy street with traffic until late at night. Parking requires you to cross the street with your bags.

Fantastic place with excellent hosts!
Needed a quiet place to get away, visit some friends, get in a little birdwatching @ Central KY Wildlife Refuge, all while still working during the week. This place was perfect! Cute historic area, old store (maybe?) that the owners did a great job converting to a two bedroom house. Super clean with perfect parking out front. An easy drive to Danville and the Wildlife Refuge with the bonus of being right on the river. Walking distance to Mi Rancho Mexican Grill - great birria tacos and margaritas, the liquor store, dollar general, and Mr. Miser food mart (try the tenderloin breakfast biscuit) - everything you need for a low key long weekend! Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway. One word of caution: there are historic (aka narrow and steep) stairs to the bedrooms and the bathroom is on the first floor. If you have significant mobility concerns be aware.

Where the past and present meet!
As you turn onto Merchants Row you are immediately taken back to the 1800s. You are able to park right across from the property, so unloading your belongings is a breeze. There is a lofty front door that leads into the completely renovated charming 1840s general store. The soft light from the chandeliers gives a break from all the bright light around today. The kitchen is well stocked, ready for any cooking you need to do. The bedrooms are so cozy and comfortable. You will be able to relax and unwind in this quaint historical property. The hosts answered any questions we had in a timely manner. We hope to visit again soon. ~Brent and Sabrina

Great getaway
It was an amazing mini vacation! The lovely house was very clean and spacious. The decor was fabulous! It had all of the accommodations of home. Jon and Tonya are superb hosts! They answered any question immediately and gave us tips about local festivities going on in the area. We loved the charm of the building and the town with its rich history. The shops next door were a huge bonus with very friendly people. The river view is spectacular! Definitely one of the best we’ve ever stayed at. We most certainly stay again!
