Portrayed as a hotel but was a motel. We had to drag our luggage up a flight of stairs to our room. The closest staircase to our room was a spiral staircase. Not very convenient at all. Next time we will stay across the street for a couple dollars more.

Great location if you want to be in town
Came into town for a wedding. This is the first time we've been in Charlevoix in the winter. We usually come during the summer. Great town. We've stayed at the Weathervane previously. We asked for a room with two queen beds and not thinking anything of it, we now thing that those rooms are all in the 2nd level. It was a little difficult getting up there in the cold and snow since the most direct way is up a turret that has a winding staircase. I think next time we come, we'll ask for a room on the first floor. The immenities are fine. Very motel-ish. We enjoyed the breakfast in the dining room and I think in the summer would be a beautiful view. You might be able to find a cheaper place to stay but the location can't be beat if you want to hang out in town.

Perfect getaway
We had a room with a fireplace and lake view. It was wonderful. Ate at Stafford’s and our meals were delicious. Best seafood chowder! Then we relaxed and had a fire in our room. Perfect one-night getaway. We love the Weathervane and will be back.

We were in town for a wedding. I picked this place soley on decent reviews. When we went into the room, it was spacious and the beds were comfortable. However, the bathroom floor had hairs in the corners and a dead spider in the bath tub. The room looked as though it did have some water damage at one time. Overall, for $160 a night I would have expected more.

Check in was quick and easy! Room was comfortable…could have used a little TLC like dusting on lamps and headboards. Asked to have room serviced and all we got was towels. Had to call a second time and then the issued was resolved!

It was a suite with a stove and living room in addition to the bedroom. I didn’t like that it was a motel style with the hallway being outside, but there was an elevator! The room was kind of outdated but clean. We had delicious complimentary breakfast.

It was a surprise to see it was a dew steps to Lake Michigan and we gor nice photis of the sunset. The room was fine. The steps up was usnt senior friendly. We managed fine but at first only noticed the circular closter phobic ones

We enjoyed our stay there. The room was nice and had a lot of room. The location was perfect for us to sight see and was a close walk to everything in town. Clean and staff was very nice. We will be back again

Loved the spacious room with balcony. Would have liked a room facing the Pine River, next time I’ll request one of those rooms. Continental breakfast was light and enough. Location is perfect for walking town. Downside- no elevator. Challenging handling stairs post knee surgery but manageable. Will stay again for sure!

Great location but for the price point this property needs some serious updates. The room smells musty and needs updates. Also the balcony walking to the room has protective plexiglass that needs to be cleaned or replaced.

N MI Trip
Room is rather outdated but provides all you need. Staff is friendly. The location can't be beat. Easy walking distance to the beach and light house. An easy walk to downtown shops and dinning and doing a walking tour of some of the Mushroom houses. The onsite restaurant provided an excellent dinner.

Room had chipping/missing paint. Wall air conditioner was loud and not very powerful. Pool wasn’t open when we arrived….a discount had been discussed because of this, and twice I had to ask for the agreed upon lower rate, even though there was a note clearly in my appointment. Seems purposeful that the lower rate was ignored until I asked…twice.
