Our Little Cabin, Life as it should be

So quiet you can hear birds sing, deer snort and if you'd like, yourself think! Personal get away? Writer or artist needing creative space. A fisherman/women - Rock Creek is just over the hill.
Our cabin is located in a meadow/wooded rural setting and approximately 8 miles from Philipsburg. This rustic, cozy, clean 1 room cabin is comfortably furnished for a relaxing stay. The cupola allows for stargazing from bed, a 1890's wood stove provides warmth and ambiance. Other heating sources too, but we do love that stove! The "west wing" - shower/ bathroom - has a sliding door to provide privacy from the main room. Kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, coffee maker, dishes, etc. Since your coming to this area, you likely have done some research and are aware of the rich history in mining and the fun of panning for sapphires. For us the outdoors plays a large part in our lives. In the summer, kayaking the numerous rivers and lakes, casting a fly hoping to attract a trout, hiking a trail in the Pintler Anaconda Wildernesses or Sapphire Mountains. Then there is just settling beneath a tree and reading a good book.
The cabin is reached by a private gravel road and drive. After years of vacationing in the cabin we built our home here. You likely will see us ( and our dog) outside working on a project, low key and out of your way .

The Cabin
My boyfriend and I came to Montana to hunt for jewels and enjoy the countryside and nature, a much needed vacation. The cabin is amazing with large picture windows and an amazing cupola that is from the 1880s, taken from one of the old buildings in town 😀 The cabin surrounds you with Montana at its best. The Gem Mountain mine was awesome and we saw 2 fox, white tail deer everywhere, and a moose with her teenage calf. The town of Phillipsburg is beautiful and filled with old west architecture that is super cool. We ate at the Silver Mill in town, I odered off the menu with ease, and it was amazing ❤️ I definitely recommend a stay. Great for couples.

Our 6th Wedding Anniversary!
We were totally surprised on how the cabin look and felt once we arrived. Kent and Maribeth were off the charts with humanity and hospitality. They seemed as if they created one of the best atmospheres for rest with a mix of pleasure and a dash of awesomeness, topped off with a large scoop of beauty covered in Montana ahhh. The view of wildlife in their natural habitat was superb, along with the exploring of the Bison Range. I can't forget the recommendation for a nice Anniversary dinner from Kent in the Flathead Indian Reservation. I must recommend the "Wild Game Meatloaf"!! The Sapphire mines in Philipsburg was very interesting place to visit, along with the town being visited by a couple of young Mule Deer. We enjoyed a nice lunch at Doe Bro's soda shop, I had the Elk burger that was very delicious! Missoula's carousel was very interesting to visit as well. We missed out of the Grizzly Encounter due to being snowed in. But again to come back to the cabin to light a fire in the antique wood stove and to enjoy a nice home cooked meal with my best friend/my wife was what I was looking for!!! The bottle of wine and the small chocolates from the local Candy Store were just a sweet tooth's Heaven. We can't wait to take out kids and our Godson out there to experience what we did! BTW their version of the luggage cart really helped us alot and it too put a nice touch to our stay. The lack of cable and TV was not missed what so ever. WE WILL BE BACK 2024!!

Our family stayed at the 'little cabin' for Spring Break , and we had a fantastic time! We enjoyed skiing/snowshoeing, gem hunting, playing games, star gazing, cooking, and all the wildlife. The location is beautiful, and the cabin is like a dream inside-so cozy with lovely furnishings. It is just perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful beauty of Montana. The hosts are superb and have thought of everything. We are so grateful for this trip and plan to stay again.

Absolutely loved the cabin , it was super cozy and warm. So glad that the owners provided propane bbq so we could grill our meals. The cabin is located in a beautiful area and is an easy commute to town and surrounding area. Definitely will stay here again in the future. You could not ask for better hosts. We had a great time at the “little cabin” in Phillipsburg.
Our hosts Maribeth and Kent were very kind and hospitable. We had some brake issues and Kent was very helpful in lending Joe tools and taking the time to be present while Joe worked on them! Maribeth has created a lovely space for rest and relaxation. It is nice to have good cooking appliances and cooking tools to enjoy good meals! The only thing we would wish for is air conditioning, so when the smoke comes in from the wild fires, we could close the windows and have cooler air. Otherwise, it was a beautiful stay!

We really liked the location. So peaceful. And having little things available like coffee was super nice due to arriving late so I could still enjoy a cup in the morning. The combination oven, toaster & air frier was nice. The furniture was old but comfortable. Our host was so friendly, responsive, and full of good information. Overall this property gets an A rating. I wish I could have stayed a few more days.
