The whole flat felt fresh, modern and well looked after. We were greeted by the owners, which was good, but to be honest, their communication beforehand was excellent, so we were well prepared anyway. There is a smartphone in the flat that you can take out and about with you - we didn’t use it, as we can use our own data packages (at the moment!) but I can see how this would be a great idea for US, Canadian or Antipodean travellers who may not be able to use their phones. WiFi very fast, and once we realised that the tv needed to be up in the 800s the picture quality was good. Portuguese tv is great because they subtitle English programmes rather than dubbing them.
The flat had plenty of space, but it is up a big hill (as is most of Porto) and our flat was on the 3rd floor (Porto seems to chop and change whether they start numbering the floors at ground or first depending on the building). Balcony was just about big enough to get a chair on, and the blackout blinds in the bedroom were excellent.
The owners have really thought this apartment through and have made it ideal for our 5 night stay.
Porto’s traffic Is horrendous, but the property is at the top of the pedestrianised street so you can get out and about easily...it is also near Bolhão and Trinidade metro stations.
The only thing we needed was a tea towel - but there are plenty of souvenir shops that will sell you one of ‘em!
