Best Vacation !!

Cons: food
Hotel was great. Staff was so fun and nice. Food was ok but everything else was amazing and I can't wait to go back !!

nice hotel with lots of pool activities for teens

Pros: We loved how friendly everyone was as we walked around. And we loved the funjestic staff and the shows.
Cons: The food at the restaurant by the ocean seemed overcooked and full of too many peppers. Plus it seemed to sit out for a long time.
Location: We loved the zip line!
We enjoyed the funjestic staff a great deal as well as the evening shows. While the overall experience was good, the food could be a little better and it seemed odd that the bartenders and wait staff at an all inclusive resort expected tips. Bar service did not seem good if you did not tip. That was disappointing. Overall we had a very good time and the staff working around the resort were so friendly and nice. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming except the bartenders at the big pools. I don't even know how they expect you to bring tips in a swimsuit. that's our only complaint.

Not aware hotel was closing for renovation and amenities were cut short.

Honeymoon

we were told we were getting upgraded since it was our honeymoon but actually they were renovating the older colonial hotel and moved us to the newer majestic. While the room was newer we did not get the ocean view we had reserved months before. That being said though it was a beautiful resort and everyone was extremely nice. Especially our butler Emilio who we will defiantly request on our return trip. I do recommend making sure belongings are kept in the safe when you are not in the room however other then the lack of the view we reserved everything was a great experience.

Nice Stay

My family and I enjoyed our stay. There was always lounge chairs available at the pool and beach. The resort was very clean as I saw staff picking up on a regular basis daily. One area in need of improvement was the food especially at the beach grill. We dinned there for dinner and It was terrible right down to the salad. The other food choices were average.

Construction!!!! While we were on vacation!!

Pros: The workers at the kid area and works who entertained us
Cons: everything!!!
What an awful experience. We arrived to a resort wanting to relax and they were doing construction. It was so loud by the kid pool it was annoying.Then we had to take the service road to get to kid pool almost getting hit by cars. After two days they closed the theater in our hotel.We had to walk so far to the other hotel to come to no seats b/c two hotels were jam packed into one. They were removing beds from rooms,the staff was rude prob b/c they checked out already. When I had 2.5 days left we woke up to more construction. I went to the front desk to complain. Offered to move us to the other hotel but my kids met some kids and wanted to stay near them. Then I went back to the kid pool and they said they were closing in 2 hours!!! WHAT!!!! I came there for the pool and slides and now they are shutting down when PAID customers were there. NOW I was really MAD. They said they would give me $200 to spend on the resort. They wanted me to sign something saying they weren't responsible for anything after giving me the money. I didn't trust it and didn't take the money. It was so unfair that someone thought this was ok. I like to be around people on vacation and this point it was a ghost town and I think the people checked out or moved to another hotel. Even the last day we were leaving the rooms were all open and metal was all over the ground they were literally tearing down ceilings. Luckly expedia is the best and stood by and gave us a partial refund.

Location: We did a catamaran, speed boat and starfish swim about an hour away at Saona Island. Was a fun day :)
Overall our family had a great stay. The staff is extremely friendly, informative and helpful. Yonathan our concierge (we were in the Colonial Club section) was especially great. He'd check in on us daily, and help us with any reservations or questions we had. Thanks for the great vacation!

This has been the worst vacation ever!! The hotel is under construction and unfortunately no one told us nor cared. We had to smell the garbage and toilet water, walk through dirt and garbage in the hallways, and there were broken light bulbs everywhere! The last three days of our vacation were a pure waste of time and money! Our flight was at 4 today and we couldn't even get lunch or water for our kids today. The staff could care less because they knew they were going to be without work for a few months. I'm disappointed and frustrated that we spent the money we did for such a terrible experience. I have lots of pictures, but only posted a few. I would like to know what Expedia is going to do about this!
