Beautiful stay in a magic corner of Greece
We had a wonderful week in the Goatshed. Fida and Chris are warm and generous hosts, and the accommodation is charming and full of character. Comfy bed, great shower, excellent cooking facilities. The terrace is a fabulous spot to linger at any time of the day. Koroni and the wider Messinia area are simply magical. Highly recommended.

Wonderful!
We had a fabulous week at The Goatshed in early April. It is a gorgeous, quirky and cosy space to stay. Fida and Chris were the most thoughtful of hosts, so friendly and full of suggestions for great places to visit and always ready to help with anything. The house is excellently well equipped - everything we thought of, even things we thought we were unlikely to find, was somewhere in the house. We were very comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Cannot recommend highly enough!

A little bit of paradise in an oasis of calm!
The Goatshed is a beautiful, tranquil antidote to modern life. Fida and Chris are magnificent hosts; from the moment of arrival to saying our goodbyes, they were warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. On our first day, they took us on a trip of the local area, pointing out the best beaches, restaurants and bars, and places to buy groceries. The accommodation is really well equipped - it had everything we could need and more besides. Sitting on the veranda, listening to the sounds of nature is a memory that will stay with us for a long time. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we are able to.

A gem!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Goatshed. Fida and Chris have clearly thought about the finer details. The property is very equipped and well stocked with every day necessities. A very generous welcome pack was also provided. We decided against a hire car and managed perfectly well walking to local beaches and to Keroni which are within a 1km or so from the property- the uphill climbs helped with our overall fitness. Our hosts took us to a larger supermarket on the 2nd day and also gave us a tour of the area, pointing out mini markets, fresh poduce stalls and tavernas/snack bars within walking distance. Weather was beautiful - not too hot and comfortable for sleeping. We wish Fida and Chris every success for the future and look forward to visiting again one day.

It was such a pleasure to be welcomed so warmly and with such practical treats waiting us indoors. And to be show round the beaches, shops and tavernas by locals was such a useful and kind way to start a really relaxing holiday. And so good to have the occasional update or suggestion of places to go. It had been such a shame to cancel our 2020 trip to Koroni but the Goatshed was worth the wait. You have taken such care to provide every last little thing and still managed to keep things simple. I never thought I would put on a white towelling robe after an outdoor shower in Greece! We wish you a lovely long rest of the summer and will think longingly of the birds and bees and flowers. And of the sea and mountains. And of your kindness : real filoxenia.

A very special Goat Shed
Wonderful quirky property created and cared for by the utterly magnificent Fida and Chris. The Goat Shed is about a 15 minute walk down hill to a lovely local beach, walk back uphill takes a tad longer; similarly the walk into Koroni town along the "ridge" takes about 20 minutes with splendid views either side of the ridge. For other beaches or exploring further afield then do hire a small car. Property is best suited for a couple but can accommodate a third, ideally a child; ours being a 13 year old. Great facilities in the property, all you need really. And you will feel deliciously welcomed on arrival. Chris and Fida made us feel like one of their family. A very special couple and a very special Goat Shed. Enjoy!

Absolutely magical!
I pushed open an old iron gate into a corner of paradise! It's just so pretty and so full of charm. Sitting on the terraces gazing over the meadow to the mountains and the sea.....lying in bed watching the butterflies on the flowers are the sun rises over the mountains......pottering around the lovely little kitchen....squeezing fresh picked oranges for breakfast......strolling into gorgeous Koroni (not swanky....not tawdry....just fab!) cycling to the beach, exploring ancient ruins...It was all heavenly. It's so easy and so comfortable and happiness inducing! Not the grandest house I have ever stayed in but definitely one of the most delightful! I had very high expectations after reading a rave review in the Guardian and they were far exceeded.....go to the Polylimio waterfalls and Ancient Messina and the beaches on the way to Methoni.... An absolute highlight was the loveliness and generosity of Chris and Fida who who were interesting and wonderful hosts...thank you so much for the tour and the hospitality and the fun.......I'm dreaming of the next visit Thank you so much Fida and Chris ( and the Guardian contributor!!)

Best spring break ever
We beat the crowds after having booked the Goatshed just before The Guardian published a raving review, and we had a wonderful spring break staying for 10 days looked after professionally by Fida and Chris, our amazing hosts. The Goatshed is the most lovely, well equipped and tastefully refurbished cottage with everything you need! We most adored the outdoor seating area with seaviews of Mani, across a meadow in fill bloom, and the neighbours goats. The walk to Koroni is so amazing, and the little town itself a haven of peace, which allows to lean back and watch the world go by. Until next year!....

Perfect escape
The property is so beautifully designed and kitted out, with lots of salvaged pieces, furniture made by owner Chris, beautiful textiles and lovely china in the kitchen. It overlooks a meadow with lots of wildflowers and feels incredibly secluded and private. Fida and Chris were lovely hosts who drove us around the area on the first day, pointing out good places to eat, walk or swim. It's really easy to walk into Koroni where there are lots of restaurants and the big, long Zaga Beach is about ten minutes walk away. We had a really wonderful time relaxing here, watching the swallows and listening to the bees buzz by day and the bats flitting around in the evening. It's a real gem of a place to stay, in a beautifully rural corner of Greece.

A perfect stay.
Fida and Chris amazing hosts, personable, helpful and caring. I can’t say enough, I was late by about 6 hours, they inquired about my well being repeatedly, came out to meet me because by then it was dark and guided me to the Goat Shed. The Goat Shed was everything and more. It was clean, uniquely but very tastefully decorated, some real talent and skill went into the design and decor. The nearby town of Koroni is very scenic with excellent cafes and restaurants. Fida and Chris took me on a tour of the town and showed me the best spots along with a couple hidden beaches that were gems. There was food and drink waiting when I got there, I can’t say how much that meant for a weary traveller. 10 out of 10 for this cottage and the fabulous hosts.

wonderful time
Simply had a lovely time at the Goatshed. The weather was warm as was the sea, so swimming every day for as long as you like. That's pretty good for October. The cottage was quirky and charming as per the photos and very well equipped so we were needing for nothing and could cook up anything. The wet room shower was pure luxury. Its a 20 minute gentle stroll into Koroni, and ten minutes to the beach. Toured around and (IMHO) definitely thought Koroni a cut above Methoni and Pylos as its nice and compact and unspoilt by tourism. A hillside fort on the promontory, harbourside Tavernas and a nice selection of shops and artisanal. Beaches all along both north and south so if the wind or waves blow one way you hop over the other side. Simples! Chris and Fida were 5 star hosts and not just met to direct us to the house, but took us on a tour of the peninsular, secluded coves, the local shops, street stalls and other handy tips about the area. They we also great neighbours for a chat and a glass. Perfect.

Goatshed Getaway
Fida and Chris were incredibly welcoming. They took us on a tour of the local area and pointed out all the best beaches and swim spots. The property is very well equipped and came with everything you would need for a holiday. The local beach is a short walk away. We were there in high summer and even then it didn’t feel crowded. A short drive away and you have a cove all to yourself. Simply stunning. Koroni itself is very pretty and virbrant with lots to see and do. This place is great and Fida and Chris have done amazing things to convert the goat shed into a lovely, comfortable getaway.

Beautiful, stylish and unique accommodation set in a lovely garden with view of an olive orch.
The renovations that Chris and Fida have made to the Goat Shed are a true labour of love, with extraordinary attention to detail. Everywhere you look in the shed you see some clever and beautiful design idea. Chris makes original furniture out of reclaimed materials and Fida has an artists eye for how you use found objects and other people's junk to make beautiful installations in the garden . Fida and Chris are warm, generous hosts who go out of their way to ensure that while you are staying in the Goat Shed you have a wonderful holiday. Right from our arrival where they came to meet us and helped us find the accommodation, through to the carefully stocked kitchen with its selection of fruit and local produce (and even a welcome lunch left ready for us), to their offer of showing us around the best local spots and how to find the best bits of beach, Chris and Fida were thoughtful and helpful hosts . My son and I had a wonderful week. Asini and nearby Koroni are beautiful, quite treasures which are everything you would hope for from a Peloponnese holdiay, but being able to come back and hang out in the Goat Shed in the heat of the day or the evening, really made this a unique experience.

We enjoyed a brilliant time in the goat shed! Its such a peaceful place in a beautiful setting - with a garden full of delicious herbs, fruit and veg! Fida and Chris were excellent hosts - always so helpful and ensuring we felt really comfortable and at home. The house is in an excellent location - within walking distance from the bars, shops and restaurants of koroni and only ten minutes from the nearest beach. We loved having the bikes and being able to explore along the coast and find beautiful bays and beaches to swim and snorkel. Overall, we had a perfect sunny holiday and would definitely love to return again soon! Thank you Fida and Chris!

Ziegenstall
Sehr nette Gastgeber. Kühlschrank war bei Ankunft mit allerlei Leckereien gefüllt ( ohne Zusatzkosten) fanden wir super. Insgesamt war die Unterkunft in Ordnung. Bett etwas klein. Küche gut ausgestattet. Toilettenpapier darf nicht in die Toilette (in ganz Griechenland verboten) muß in Abfalltüte entsorgt werden. Für uns war das gewöhnungsbedürftig. Unterkunft liegt in einer sehr engen Straße. Parken ca. 200 Meter entfernt. Leider werden auf dem Nachbargrundstück Ziegen und ein Hund unter schlechten Bedingungen gehalten. Hund 24 Stunden an Kette festgebunden. Ziegen an viel zu kurzen Leinen (ca . 50 cm ) angebunden. Kein schöner Anblick. Können die Gastgeber natürlich nichts dafür. Zum schönen Strand ca. 1 Kilometer.

Thank you for the review. Fortunately , when you come to Greece you come to Greece, and this is rural Peleponese with untamed beauty. Walks and cycling through olive groves and in the foothills. Exclusive coves to swim and with lots of other positve aspects, and of course the well known negatives. We do have street parking outside the property, but sometimes, especially if you have a Big car, it is easier to park on the main road ,which was the case here,

Unsere Zeit im Goatshed-Ferienhaus war fantastisch, sehr entspannt, der Olivenhain vor der Terrasse mit Meerblick, der Fußweg zum Strand und in die Stadt, die ländliche Umgebung noch nicht zu touristisch erschlossen, aber vor allem unsere Gastgeber mit einem kulinarischen Willkommen, vielen Empfehlungen, Hilfe und Gastfreundschaft. Das Haus ist individuell gestaltet und hat eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Wir kommen wieder!

Dear Fida, Dear Chris, the stay with you was wonderful. We were greeted with a super delicious welcome package (do you still like to send us the recipe of the sensational focaccia Chris?). The fridge was stocked with all the essentials and much more. Kitchen fully equipped and the rest of course. You are absolutely right if you are looking for a place with heart. All is individual and one sees your love for details and beautiful and creative solutions. We arrived and immediately felt at home. And that you then also gave us the best insider tips was of course sensational. :). The sea is clear and wonderfully blue. Beaches can be found from busy to managed to completely deserted bays full of beautiful stones. The Goat Sheet is a place to breathe and arrive at yourself. The crickets, the fields, the sky. Calming the spirit
Our hosts Fida and Chris are absolutely charming, as well as the goat shed itself. The equipment and furnishing is more than satisfactory. The garden is lovely with a soothing view. Several little owls greeted us every day, goats, hoopoes, jay birds, dogs, roosters participated in the singing. We wanted to calm the spirit and get our roots grounded. Ein wundervolles Häuschen zum entspannen
Wir können alle positven Bewertungen hier nur wieder bestätigen. Die Vermieter sind sehr herzliche, großzügige und gastfreundliche Menschen, die jeden Wunsch erfüllen, obwohl wir wunschlos zufrieden waren. Im Haus war alles vorhanden, was man braucht, um sich wirklich zuhause zu fühlen. Vom Milchaufschäumer, zur Zitronenpresse bis hin zum Mückemschutz, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Wunderbare Ferien!!! Tolles Haus und nette Menschen.
Wir haben bei Fida und Chris zwei Wochen super entspannten Urlaub erlebt. Das Haus ist wirklich liebevoll, geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet, so dass einfache Urlaubsküche immer wieder Spaß gemacht hat. Auf der „Plancha“ die uns auf der Terrasse zur Verfügung stand, könnten wir auch „Party Küche“ schonend und sehr schmackhaft braten statt grillen. Wenn zum Kochen zu faul waren, haben wir uns vom reichhaltigem gastronomischen Angebot im etwa 1,5 km entfernten Koroni verführen lassen. Der Strand ist ungefähr 1 km gut zu Fuß über ruhige Straßen und Wege erreichbar. Fida und Chris sind ganz herzliche Menschen, und waren stets um unser wohlergehen bemüht. Bei unserer Ankunft, hatten sie uns einen sehr angenehmen (und leckeren) Empfang vorbereitet. Wir sind nur mit unseren Koffer angekommen und konnten uns sofort entspannen und wie zu Hause fühlen. Dieses Gefühl hat uns bis zur Abreise nicht mehr verlassen. Großen lieben Dank und bravo, Uta und Benoît We have experienced two weeks super relaxing vacation with Fida and Chris. The house is really lovingly, tastefully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen very well equipped, so that simple vacation cooking was always fun. On the "plancha" which was available to us on the terrace, we could also "party kitchen" gently and very tasty fry instead of grill. If to cook too lazy true, we have been seduced by the rich gastronomic offer in Koroni, about 1.5 km away. The beach is about 1 km well accessible on foot over quiet roads and paths. Fida and Chris are very warm people, and were always concerned about our well-being. Upon our arrival, they had prepared a very pleasant (and delicious) welcome for us. We arrived with only our suitcases and could immediately relax and feel at home. This feeling has not left us until departure. Big love thanks and bravo, Uta and Benoît Nous avons passé deux semaines de vacances super relax chez Fida et Chris. La maison est confortable et la déco très sympa. La cuisine est bien équipée, pour réussir la popotte de vacances simple. Sur la "plancha" qui était à notre disposition sur la terrasse, nous avons fait des grillades températures basses très réussies. Quand nous étions trop paresseux pour cuisiner, nous nous sommes laissés tenter par le grand choix de restos à Koroni, à environ 1,5 km. La plage qui se trouve à environ 1 km à pied, est accessible par des rues et chemins calmes. Fida et Chris sont des gens très chaleureux

Beste Gastgeber die wir jemals hatten.
Alles was in der Beschreibung steht und vieles mehr hat diese zwei Wochen zu einem wunderschönen Erlebnis gemacht. Ein guter Ort zum erholen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich und das Haus ist gemütlich und originell eingerichtet . Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Magic experience
If you are looking for a quiet cottage in Messinia, near the sea, the historical towns of Koroni, Pylos and Methoni, and near fantastic beaches, this is the place! The hospitality of Chris and Fida was for grade 6 at a scale between 0-5!. They made us feel like home and solved all the problems we may faced during our stay. We enjoyed our stay in pure nature, away from the noise of the city that is difficult to find during August. On the other hand we had all the necessary equipment of a modern home.

Finest Hideaway / Ganz schnuckeliges Ferienhaus
Eine sehr spontane Buchungsentscheidung wurde durch absolut nichts getrübt. Die Inhaber des kleinen Ferienhauses wohnen direkt nebenan, was überhaupt nicht gestört hat, im Gegenteil, wir wurden immer über alle aktuellen Meldungen und Anlässe informiert, die Kommunikation war schnell und persönlich, die Reinigung nach der halben Zeit kam einer Komplettreinigung gleich, alles, absolut alles in dem Haus war in reichlichem Maß vorhanden, es fehlt an nichts. Aber selbst dann wurde noch während unseres Aufenthaltes optimiert, es wurde auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen, wir wurden mit sprichwörtlich offenen Armen empfangen und fast nicht mehr losgelassen. Sehr herzlich, sehr liebevoll. Endlich mal ein Ferienhaus, was sehr liebevoll und mit dem Sinn für das wichtige eingerichtet ist. Ich könnte jetzt noch meilenweit schreiben, aber ein wenig Spannung muss ja noch bleiben. Mir/Uns bleibt nur zu sagen: Vielen lieben Dank Fida und Chris, ihr seid tolle Gastgeber.
