For the cost of the hotel I expected better service. There was one waiter serving from the bar and we sat on the lawned terrace for 25 minutes and no one came to serve us so I had to ask reception to send someone. The spa is very old and desperately in need of a full refurbishment. The food was fairly good but considering the cost wasn’t worth it as I've eaten better three course meals for less in many other top restaurants. It’s a shame as the setting is lovely with the hotel buildings, gardens, and the Snowdonia hills in the distance. It could be so much better with some improvements here and there but I didn’t feel it was worth the high end cost for what was in my opinion a mediocre experience.

We have stayed in the property before and really liked it, so thought we would stay again. But this time we stayed in one of the attic rooms. Luckily we aren't' that tall other wise we would have hit our heads and just about got into the room were the toilet was and the toilet system had a crack on it. The shower looked impressive (double shower)but we could just about open the door to get in and the shower head was spraying in different direction and not straight down over you.

Service was excellent with friendly staff.

From the minute we walked in Nicola and the staff were amazing. They welcomed a group of us and couldn't have done enough for us throughout the stay. I would highly recommend this hotel
