The hotel is very conveniently located near the Friendship Heights Metro station on the Red line. The Chevy Chase Pavilion even has its own exit from the metro.
The hotel got this low rating not because of its staff, but because it is severely understaffed, especially during the Spring break week. The line for the complimentary breakfast is slow and long, the pool is dirty, and the staff serving the front desk is constantly on the phone answering others. Nevertheless, I could feel that everyone are doing their best, but they are just exhausted.
Some may say that you get what you pay for, since this place is quite reasonably priced for its neighborhood. So please do lower your expectations.
The last complaint is about its movie on demand system. Your kids will have no trouble purchasing movies if you do not pay attention! The first purchase option also automatically comes with an addition $7 perk that you will never use. So please remember to ask front desk to disable movie on demand for you.
Oh, the wifi is indeed free with a coupon provided during check in. Thank you for this.
