In a medieval village, 20 minutes from the center of Rome, a charming villa surrounded by nature.
The owner will be happy to make You taste their ortho products, wine and olive oil and other products typical of the area.

When you get there the owner will take you to the baker's supermarket, the bank, and she will show you the best restaurants and pizzerie in Sacrofano. It will take you to the station, from where, in 17 minutes, You will be in the Center of Rome.

Rome for the Ryder Cup
Amazing property with spectacular views. Our host was fantastic. Getting to the house the first time is an adventure, but the town that sits below is cute with very cool stores and shops. It is a 15 minute drive to the train station and then another 20-25 minutes and you are in the middle of Rome. We are thinking about coming back with our younger kids in a year or two, just an incredible vacation and place to stay

Villa Close to Rome
We had a wonderful family vacation close to Rome and it was easy to get into the city. One of the bedrooms had a window with no view, you looked into a wall. The pool was well maintained as were the grounds. Gherardo was very knowledge of the area and responsive to our requests. There are some things that could use updating for example: hangers in the closets, towel racks, new linen and a faster internet conection.

Beautiful property with the most amazing views
When we arrived at the property we were truly amazed by the size of the grounds and villa. The listing just does not do this property justice and it far exceeded our expectations. We have traveled to many different places and the far reaching beautiful views where by far the best we have ever had. Gherardo our host welcomed us with open arms and was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Gherardo has some lovely dogs that live on the property however they have their own space much to our disappointment as we absolutely loved Bianco and loved seeing him and getting

Perfect Holiday
We simply cannot rate our holiday with Gherardo highly enough - quite simply it was the perfect family vacation. The property itself is incredible - clean, spacious, well equipped and with views of Sacrofano, and in the distance, Rome. It is also well located to access the local area, including Rome in under an hour. Gherardo was the perfect host, going out of his way to ensure that we had a relaxing stay. It’s the people that make a holiday, and Gherardo and his family helped make ours. We would definitely recommend and definitely hope to return one day.

A wonderful stay in Sacrofano!
Our family (2 of us, plus our 11 and 7 year olds) had a wonderful time in Sacrofano. Gherardo is the perfect host – really helpful and kind, and responded quickly to any queries. The villa is wonderful – perfectly clean, beautifully designed, with an amazing garden and views over the village and as far as Rome! We had everything we needed to make us feel at home, including a well-equipped kitchen, lots of space, and a great pool for the kids. Sacrofano itself is a lovely little village – with a selection of good places to eat (we particularly enjoyed Tonino’s restaurant and Il Torrione Pizzeria), and drink (Papo’s in the centre is nice and relaxed, and our kids loved the little pool with the turtles). There are also a host of small local shops (bakery, green grocer, butcher, etc), as well as two supermarkets. Local trips included a walk and picnic at the waterfalls at Cascate di Monte Gelato (about 20 minutes drive), a visit to the lovely medieval town centre at Bracciano, followed by a swim in the picturesque lake (40 minutes drive), and an afternoon seeing the farm animals and birds of prey at Parco Natura La Selvotta (only open weekends, 20 minutes drive). We also had a great day out at the beach at Santa Severa (around an hours drive). For the amazing sights of Rome, it’s about a 15 minute drive to the station at Montebello, from where there are regular trains into Rome, taking 20 minutes or so – the ticket is only 1.50 Euro each (under 10’s travel free), and gives you a total of 100 minutes travel on public transport including the buses and metro when you get into Rome. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fabulous villa (and its excellent owner) to any visitors to the area, and very much look forward to coming back again, to see even more of this beautiful part of the world.

We arrived very late due to the late arrival time of the plane
When we arrived we had nothing to drink And nothing to eat ! It would of been nice if the owner could of left us some tea or basic water! But no ! I did text the owner to say we will arrive late ! But no answer, I was also disappointed in the description of the villa I thought the whole of the villa was our use but the owner lives on the first floor and you get the ground floor ! She has 4 dogs that bark and wake you up in the morning We stayed for 7 nights and had the same sheets on all week and our towels were not changed all week! Which was bad the pool was stone cold but I think it was that time of year the pool is cold The owner did try to communicate thou her English is limited the only Good point about the owner the following morning she did take me in to the supermarket and show me the train to travel to Rome

Perfect start to our Italian adventure.
Donatella's place and her hospitality were both amazing. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. We were there in winter and found the place (heating) to be perfect, we were comfortable wearing only short sleeve t-shirts while in the house. There was plenty of room outside for the kids to play and the property is well secured and felt safe at all times. Donatella is the perfect host. She is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. She has fabulous recommendations and suggestions to make your time spent in Sacrofano most enjoyable. Sacrafano is a lovely little town with all the services that we need with a young family. Rome was easily accessible via car within 30 minutes. We highly recommend staying at Donatella's place, we loved our time so much we found it difficult to leave.

Wonderful Family Holiday
We had such a lovely time at this villa. It exceeded our expectations and was clean, well equipped and perfectly located for trips to Rome as well as the odd day lounging by the incredibly clean pool enjoying the view. Having read previous reviews we didn’t think that Donatello (owner) could be as lovely and helpful as everyone said...but she was...and more. Before our visit she was very responsive and helpful and when we got there she came to meet us when we got lost on arrival, showed us where the local supermarket was and drove us to the train station, showed us the best tickets to buy for day trips to Rome. As a family with two young(ish) children, we couldn’t recommend this villa highly enough.

Excellent view and a warm welcoming owner
We had a marvelous time in the house. Donatella is a genuine, caring person helping us out with restaurant bookings, shopping, travel suggestions etc. It is obvious that Donatella is renting out her house not only for extra income but also because she enjoys taking care of people and showing the best of Italy. At the same time we always had our privacy and felt very comfortable knowing that we could reach out to Donatella whenever needed. House is situated on a top of a hill and walking down to the restaurants and shops can be a challenge, so a car is definitely required. The view from the house is though beautiful. Our kids loved the dog that we could borrow at times. We would warmly recommend the house

The property is clean and comfortable, in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Sacrofano is a lovely traditional Italian town with many restaurants. Donatella was very welcoming and helpful on our day of arrival taking us to the local supermarket and showing us the train station to be able to get into Rome easily. There are some great places to visit if you are looking for other things to do apart from visiting Rome. Bagnoregio is an one and a half hour drive away but well worth a visit and Ostia Antica near the airport is definitely worth a visit.

Me, my wife two sons and their partners had a great stay. Lovely position above a little town.
Well laid out, clean, great position above the town which has a good selection of resteraunts. Donatella who owns the property was lovely. She could not be more helpful. A short drive to the station to get into Rome. For the 7 Euro return train ticket you have free public transport all day in Rome. If we were to head back to this part of Italy I would definitely stay again.

Spacious and well equipped.
Really lovely property with everything we needed. It is remote so definitely need a hire car. Short car journey to Montebello train station takes you into Flaminio station to access Rome - very frequent and incredibly cheap. Free parking at Montebello too. Ventured to Fregene and Anzio beaches about 50 mins and an hour 20 mins drive away respectively. Was a bit too far for us really.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in Sacrofano bei Gherardo wirklich sehr genossen. Sofort vom ersten Augenblick an fühlten wir uns heimisch und sehr gut aufgenommen. Dazu trug im Wesentlichen die freundliche, unkomplizierte und aufgeschlossene Art des Vermieters bei. Gherardo hat uns auch in dieser Woche mit zahlreichen Informationen was Zugverbindungen, Wanderrouten und Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung von Sacrofano versorgt. Die Wohnung entsprach voll und ganz unseren Erwartungen, war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir konnten einen unbeschwerten und erholsamen Urlaub verbringen und kommen sehr gerne bald einmal wieder hierhin.

Fabulous stay close to Rome
My stay at Gherardo's in Sacrofano was simply exceptional. From the outset, Gherardo’s hospitality set a high standard for our visit. The accommodation is pristine, well-decorated, and filled with all the amenities you could wish for, making us feel right at home. What sets this location apart is its convenience. A 15-minute drive takes you to Montebello station, from where a direct train whisks you into Rome's heart. After a bustling day of sightseeing, returning to the peaceful atmosphere of Sacrofano was a blessing. The village itself is charming, providing an authentic Italian experience. Haus mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht
Anfang August haben wir (3 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) die im unteren Geschoss sich befindliche Einliegerwohnung in Gehrardos Villa gemietet. Der Pool, mit ca. 4m Durchmesser und durchgehend 1,4m Tiefe, von dem man auch eine wunderschöne Aussicht genießen konnte, gehörte zur eigenen Nutzung. Trotz der hohen August-Temperaturen war es immer sehr angenehm im Haus, so dass wir kaum die Klimaanlage einschalten mussten. Zwei Schlafzimmer hatten einen eigenen Ausgang auf die Terrasse. Das Dritte Schlafzimmer befindet sich auf der anderen Seite des Hauses und hat ein eigenes Badezimmer. An allen Fenstern und Terrassentüren gibt es Fliegennetze . In der ganzen Wohnung sowie auch am Pool hatten wir immer gutes WLAN. Wir möchten dieses Anwesen allen wärmstens empfehlen. Es eignet sich sehr gut um Ausflüge nach Rom zu starten und danach die schöne Landschaft am Pool zu genießen. Einen riesen Dank an Gerhardo, der uns immer behilflich zur Seite gestanden ist.

Traumhafter Urlaub in schöner Umgebung
Wer die Unterkunft bei Gherardo und seiner Familie gebucht hat, kann sich auf einen sehr schönen Urlaub freuen. Die Villa ist hervorragend gelegen und bietet einen traumhaften Blick über Sacrofano und man kann in der ferne Rom sehen. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber, mit allem ausgestattet und der Pool, wie in der Beschreibung angegeben, gehört einem völlig allein. Überhaupt - falls sich jemand Gedanken macht, dass der Vermieter im gleiche Haus wohnt, dem können jede Sorge nehmen. Gherardo ist da wenn man ihn braucht, ansonsten ist man völlig ungestört. Noch ein paar nützliche Hinweise - Neben den hier schon oft beschriebenen Besuche in Rom per Bahn, möchte wir auf jeden Fall das Umland empfehlen. Die Villa Gregoriana ist ebenso einen Besuch wert, wie der See Lago di Bracciano. Fahr hier am besten zum Ort Lido Dei Cigni, dort kann man gut parken und ist direkt am Strand. Als Supermarkt hat uns im Ort der Todis Supermarkt am besten gefallen, hier sind auch die Preise ok. Und denkt dran - viele Pizzerien machen erst um 19:30 Uhr auf. Zusammengefasst hatten wir einen spitzen Urlaub und wünschen allen die nach uns kommen viel Spaß. Mit der Buchung dieser Wohnung habt ihr schonmal alles richtig gemacht.

We had a wonderful time here. The host gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful. He even offered to buy groceries for us as we arrived on a Sunday. The appartment was spacious and nice with a beautiful garden and a amazing view over the charming village. We'd love to come back and probably will. :)

La résidence : - propre - confortable - piscine traitée naturellement et bien plus grande que ce que l'on pense en voyant l'annonce - une superbe vue sur Rome et le village. Les propriétaires très sympathiques, discrets et dévoués Sacrofano est une superbe petite ville animée avec beaucoup de restaurants. vous y trouverez une ambiance authentique vous serez immergé dans la vie italienne mélange de traditions, de partages et de respect inter générations. Idéal pour aller à Rome Gare à 10 minutes parking 1,5 € par jour puis train 3€ allez retour. 20 minutes de train. nous avons passé un super séjour. Nous conseillons vraiment ce lieu.

So nah an Rom und doch so ruhig und erholsam
Das Anwesen ist in komplett eingerichtet und in einem Topzustand mit viel Liebe zu Details. Ein dickes Kompliment an die Vermieter. Bei den wenigen Fragen, die auftauchten, waren sie stets zur Stelle und halfen mit Rat und Tat. Selbstversorger finden alles in Sacrofano oder nahegelegenen Supermärkten. Just amasing
This house, the host and the area was perfect for us. We spent a wonderfull calm week ind this spacious, clean house, with a beatifull garden og wiev to the green hill and Rome. The host Donatella and her brother Gherado was so helpfull, fleksibel and proffessionel from beginning to the end and made us feeling safe and relaxed. There was cold water in the fridge, when we arrived and we didn`t hear the dogs! Everything worked - the bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms etc. the supermarket, the little town, the restaurants and the train to Rome. We are very surprised that we could get all that for so little money and we miss the place :-)
