"Good location for walking in city"
Restaurant and bar very limiting, no real place to relax in hotel but in your room. Lobby small, no attractive ara to sit in and have a drink, bar not open until evening, breakfast expensive, dining room on the fifth floor dark.

"Spectacular luxury and view of the city"
A seamless experience. We had one of the large suites that has a huge balcony. And while the room is spacious, the bathroom was clearly sized according to the standards of a past era. The colors and decor of the room are extremely tasteful and elegant. The views from atop Nob Hill are panoramic, and you are walking distance from some of San Francisco's old world charm and architecture. The view at night is simply city lights at its best. I think there are few cities in the US that offer city lights like San Francisco. The gardens, lobby, and amenities hearken back to the Belle Epoch. I used to stay at the St. Francis, but will now make my future visits to San Francisco an opportunity to revisit The Fairmont.

"Great place to stay. "
My family and I spent 2 nights here and we loved it. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and staff was very accommodating. The only thing though was breakfast service. The breakfast service was not into standard with the rest of the hotel. They did not bring out the right items, or I was halfway done with my meal when they brought what I actually ordered out. Other then that, no complaints. Exceptional and I will be back!

"Boutique San Francisco hotel "
Quirky, comfortable and friendly hotel. Our room was bright and reasonably spacious, and although it had no view it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. It was my wife's birthday and the Duty Manager kindly sent a bottle of wine and chocolates to the room - a lovely gesture, and totally unexpected. Thank you! The room was well equipped and toiletries of a decent standard. The fridge was suitably stocked, if a bit pricey - but probably no more expensive than elsewhere in the city.

"Nice hotel but I opted not to stay again. "
I paid for a spa room which was huge and the spa tub did work. I have to say, though, that while I slept like a log a small thing disappointed me and made me feel like a second class guest. The coffee table in the room was in horrible shape - beat up and incongruent with the decor. Sounds trivial, but I ended up not booking there for a second weekend.

"Wonderful Staff"
The hotel is on the quirky side which is no bad thing as it made it more interesting that the run of the mill hotel. However, the quirkiness tended to over rule the need for functionality. Our room 506 had only one bedside table necessitating the need to use a chair as the other bedside table. Additionally there was no mirror in the bedroom only one above the sink in the bathroom. This meant waiting for the bathroom to become free before getting dressed successfully when leaving for the day or going out in the evening. Having said this we would return because the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is in the heart of the city.
