We stayed here—four adults, four kids—for a week in April 2019.
This is a stunning rainforest property with views for miles, located above the more built up areas closer to the coast.
The house is spacious, with two master suites, extra bedrooms for kids, a large kitchen with plenty of space to work, sitting rooms, tons of natural light, and a pleasant airy atmosphere coming from a steady mountain breeze. You can tell it was thoughtfully designed by an architect. Also, the house is totally private—you won’t see anyone else around at all—and we felt safe behind two gates.
The main attraction for us was the outdoor space—a pool area with a covered seating space where we spent mornings drinking coffee while the kids swam, and evenings watching the sun set and grilling up dinner. We also enjoyed walking around the landscaped areas surrounding the house. There are views everywhere looking over the forest and lower areas and all the way to the coast. At night we enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the sounds of the forest.
We left each morning to do day trips, hiking, beaches, river walks, etc.—all of which were within a 10-30 minute drive. There was a creek to explore and swim in about 5 minutes up the road. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes away where we stocked up on groceries.
Antonio, the host, was very responsive and answered all of our texts, emails, and phone calls promptly.
Some room for improvement: a few of the bathroom fixtures didn’t work, and the grill outside should be replaced. The house house had wifi, but we found our cellular service more reliable for checking email and streaming music.
Overall, highly recommend. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the surrounding areas.
