The property was extremely clean . I was sick the owner took my bags to my room and made me tea . This was the icing on the cake .

quiet paradise by the pool
Very helpful owner and extremely clean and comfortable hotel. Secluded, safe, and quiet location away from the craziness of Boca Chica beaches. Pool was wonderful in lieu of trashy beach. Only cons were no wifi in rooms, only in lobby and pool area, and hotel location in Boca Chica. Nearby beach town of Juan Dolio is much quieter and nicer, but if you want to stay close to Santo Domingo and airport, Boca Chica is better. Great Uber service available in both areas (and between Santo Domingo and BC), although parking available at hotel if you are crazy enough to drive in the DR. Short 10 minute safe walk to good grocery and many restaurants, so don't really need a car.

Clean and Small
This hotel is a very clean hotel. It is small with only about 12 rooms. Lobby is clean, halls and stairs are clean, rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Remember that the Dominican Republic is a 3rd world country. There are people everywhere asking for something. This hotel is at the end of the street so there are no people hassling the patrons. Their swimming is nice and clean. See the pictures at their website. We would stay there again.

A clean, reasonable hotel.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is difficult to find, however, as there is no sign. It also is not as close to the airport as advertised. It's really about 13 kilometers from the airport.

Scummy neighborhood and poor internet access
The hotel was very hard to find, it's tucked up behind buildings. The neighborhood was very unappealing. People constantly harassing you as a tourist. The room was nice and clean, but extremely hot! The air conditioning did not work and there were no screens so we couldn't open the windows. They hotel advertised free wifi but it never worked.

Exactly what I expected
Having never been to the DR, this place was just what i expected and more. Few blocks from a big grocery store and a beach, located near restaurants, a nightclub that seems like the party never ends, and a casino... come on, it;s all you need!

Nice hotel--but hidden from local taxi drivers....
Three groups of friends converged at different times to Hotel San Gabriel. All three taxi drivers could not find the hotel. It is located off a long private driveway in the parking lot of a local night club (Neptune's). There is no signage at all of the hotel--even when you arrive at the wrought iron gates. Hotel is safe (locked behind gates, clean,has pool, wifi outside on patio). No availability to purchase water, food, or snacks. Must walk 10 to 15 minutes for restaurants or convenience store--bring bottled water and snacks--it is quite remote. Tell taxi driver to turn left into private driveway (uphill) directly across from Neptune's Club. The small hotel is located at the end of the driveway. Again, three parties all using airport taxis, got lost. Anita, the manager, is quite nice. 24-hour guard on property. Bare bones rooms, but comfortable. ($30 taxi fare from airport).

You get what you pay for, overall a good place
The hotel is safe and close to the beach and downtown area. It has very basic amenities, AC in most rooms is a plus. The TV didn't work in my room, and the wifi only works in certain areas. The breakfast is really good, but the same every day, and the staff is very nice but only speaks spanish and very limited english from a few. It's not anywhere near the quality of places you'd find in hotel chains, but it's safe and does the job for a very inexpensive stay.

The owners are very accomodating. Very polite. Although the info that it is 1.7k from the airport is not true. Probably 5-7. A 30 dollar cab far. Expedia needs to verify the distance better

safe budget hotel
We stayed four days, staff was helpful and friendly, giving suggestions of sights to see . Continental breakfast is minimal but nourishment to start your day. Their sister hotel Zapata, offered beach front amenities. I would stay again.

Estábamos buscando un Hotel cerca del aeropuerto para mi ultima noche en Dominicana. Efectivamente el Hotel esta cerca del aeropuerto y la dueña me apoyó reservando el Taxi para la mañana siguiente a las 6 am. El Hotel es muy, pero muy limpio. No había otros huéspedes así que estuvimos muy tranquilos. Nuestra habitación estaba limpia y grande. La ducha salía caliente y poderosa. Del balcón llegaba una linda brisa. Llegamos a la playa en pocos minutos. El vecindario se veía tranquilo.

Hotellet ligger inte där kartan visar! Skall man bo i Boca Chica kanske detta är ett bra läge, det vet jag inte. Men vi bokade så nära flygplatsen som möjligt och det var inte ens nära, 15 min bilväg bort. Adressen fanns inte heller i GPS:en så vi letade flera timmar mitt i natten. Hotellet erbjöd inte frukost som skulle ingå eller hade rummen balkong som det stod i beskrivningen. Hotellet i sig var det inget fel på, personalen var trevlig men kunde inte engelska så bra, och rummen var rena och stora.

Déjà, l'hôtel est à des kilométres de là où il est indiquė sur le plan....Ensuite réservation avec petit déjeuner inclus refusé et facturé 2x 5 dollars pour un p déj de très mauvaise qualité. Et propreté douteuse.
