For those of you staying two or more weeks, the beds will be stripped and re made up for you every 7 nights upon request. Comfortably sleeping 6 people, 2 bath/shower rooms and an additional ground floor cloakroom w.c.

All of the internal photographs were taken recently following completion of the renovation works.

GROUND FLOOR:
There is a fully fitted kitchen and dining area equipped with everything to make your stay an enjoyable one, oven, hob, integrated refrigerator, free standing refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, coffee percolator, toaster etc.

Lounge with log fire and twin sofas, English Freeview Satellite TV, flat screen television with DVD Player, IPOD/CD/DAB Radio complete with speakers (and plenty of music on the IPOD) and dual aspect windows overlooking the petanque courts.

A ground floor cloakroom complete with WC.
The flooring throughout is a mixture of beautiful chestnut or antique pine. There is a highchair at the property should you require one along with a selection of toys, games, books, pool inflatables and Cd’s.

FIRST FLOOR:
Master bedroom which has a king size 150cm bed with en-suite shower and WC facilities, opposite is a twin bedroom with dual aspect windows (if required, we can put an additional single fold away guest bed in to accommodate 3 people in this room - by request) ideal for family house sharing.

TOP FLOOR:
Gorgeous bedroom in the eaves, single or king size 160cm bed (with reduced door height). Plenty of floor space.

Full size family bathroom complete with curved bath, shower, WC, handbasin. bathroom cabinets.

There is a private heated pool (open from May through to October), wrap around south facing sun terraces and a gorgeous new canopy over the rear patio area for shelter from the midday sun. The private garden has several mature trees and shrubs and a small lawn area. There are lovely flowering Mock Orange trees which arch over the gravel path leading up to the house and a beautiful rambling wisteria leads from the house to the pool area. We have six comfortable sun loungers on the decking areas by the pool, with two large sun shades if required. Pool towels are provided when the pool is in use. (May through to October)

There are plenty of areas to choose from for outside dining, either in the sun or shade, with a beautiful six seat dining table and chairs and charcoal BBQ.

We have created a lovely private town house from which you can stroll to the gourmet restaurants in Sarlat. Most restaurants are within a genuine 5-10 minute walk of the house, which means you can enjoy a few glasses of wine with your meals out without having to worry about driving (taxis tend to be very expensive here in France). There is a boulangerie for your morning croissants and baguettes, with a lovely little deli next door just a short 3 minute stroll away from the house.

Sarlat is a small town of exceptional beauty with its narrow winding streets, stone roofs and Benedictine Abbey. You will be mesmerized by over 1000 years of art and architecture at every turn, all accessible within 5 minutes on foot from your Sarlat holiday home. And the beauty of our location is that you can sit in the garden enjoying the pool or having your lunch and it's peaceful enough to hear the birds sing.

Please be wary of listings that claim to be in Sarlat or 5 or 10 minutes from Sarlat. This often refers to driving time. We are a genuine 5 minute walk to the medieval center. We've heard countless stories from holidaymakers believing they were coming to stay in Sarlat but have had to travel miles to get anywhere.

You can visit the colorful farmer's market and food hall, or indulge in French cafe culture and watch the world pass by. Sarlat has many free attractions throughout the year around including a Christmas market and outdoor ice rink for the festive period, art exhibitions and during the summer months especially, there are constant evening street performers, open air theatre, music festivals, fireworks, acrobats, musicians, clowns providing nightly shows for your entertainment. After a day spent messing about on the river, visiting caves or chateaux, why not sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and watch the locals play Petanque, or even have a go yourself, there is a set of boules in the house for your use.

There really is something for everyone here in Sarlat, right on your doorstep...

Wonderful house and perfect location
A huge thank you to Paul and Leanne. The house was absolutely gorgeous, spotlessly clean, very comfy beds with lovely high quality bed linen. The photos really don’t do it justice and the pool was much larger than we expected too! The communication with Paul and Leanne during the booking process was great as we had some questions regarding parking, as we were travelling from the UK in a Motorhome and about the pool as we were hoping it would be available for when we stayed at the very end of April/early May. They also contacted us on arrival day to let us know that the house was ready earlier than 4pm and that we were welcome to arrive earlier, which was incredibly thoughtful. Paul and Leanne were the perfect combination of being available to assist with their local knowledge and information but without intrusion. They also went above and beyond by arranging wonderful weather for our week long stay! We genuinely can’t think of anything we would change and we hope to be back again soon!

Beautiful Home in the Heart of Sarlat
We had an incredible time staying in Paul’s beautiful and perfectly located home while attending Sarlat’s annual truffle festival. We were easily able to walk to everything - the festival, shops, and restaurants from the perfect location. The home is charming and spacious and the beds are heavenly- so comfortable! Merci beaucoup Paul! We would happily stay here again! A lovely home in a spectacular location and charming village.

Unique Experience
We very much enjoyed our stay, it is indeed very convenient, both for enjoying the town and also for exploring the area. I do agree with other reviews, if you have mobility issues this will not work for you. The walk up and down from the parking area is steep. That being said, if you do not have mobility issues then you will love this place. It is an easy walk into town, but do not rely on GPS, just go out the front gate, walk to toward the right and down the road by the pétanque and keep going straight until you reach the main road and then turn left. If you want coffee in the morning turn right at the first street rather than go all the way down the hill and turning left, otherwise you will find it a longer walk. We enjoy walking so it was no problem. The communication with the hosts was perfect, always a quick reply. If you want to do some wash do know there is no dryer, but there are two hanging racks, and a clothes line under a covered arbor. The bed was very comfortable, we slept great! But also know there is no closet for hanging longer garments. If blow drying your hair is important then you need to know that they do not allow electric outlets in the bathrooms, you must be able to do this without the need for a mirror. It seems minor but it was a challenge for me with longer hair. The kitchen is well equipped, the oven is amazing, very responsive and the dishwasher left everything sparkling. We left feeling like we didn't want to leave, the place is really lovely.

Perfect spot for a few days in Sarlat
We booked this place at the last minute due to change in holiday plans. Paul was really helpful in facilitating an early arrival as we were only coming from 10 miles away. Also very helpful, quick and proactive in responding to queries. The house is lovely, really well equipped kitchen, high quality and thoughtfully furnished for an easy stay. Beds, linen and towels top notch and luxurious! Bottle of rose on arrival was perfect and some basic condiments/oil in cupboards too. Pool in back garden makes most of the space and surprisingly private, lovely as it was very hot when we were there. Easy flat 10 min walk into Sarlat but house itself very quiet in peaceful residential area. Slept soundly! Particularly well thought out seating outside, watched pétanque tournament across the road from the front terrace, very relaxing. We visited the gardens at Erygnac and market at St Cyprien - both short journeys. Overall a perfect place for our needs - thanks Paul and Leanne

Great house
Very well presented, clean ,fully equipped and a great pool. Also 5 to 10 mins walk from the mediaeval part of Sarlat. Our host, Paul, was really good and especially helpful before our holiday. The airport decided to rent out cars for about 1 hour per day. Now sorted and we picked up a car from the airport. He really went above and beyond to help. Well deserved 5 star

Great spot to explore the Dordogne
It was a few mins walk to bakeries and onto the Old Town of Sarlat. It’s a beautiful area to explore. Our 20 something children could explore independently of us which was great. The property was nicely done. The top room has a low door and a velum window - but we weren’t inside much! We watched the locals playing pétanque each night with a sundowner on the front terrace. The host was great. Helped us with ideas for planning the trip. Would recommend.

We had a amazing holiday here. Leanne ad Paul take great pride in offering a well-equipped, clean and comfortable home. The gardens and pool are a lovely place to soak up some sun at the end of a day exploring the area. Cute little house.
Clean, quiet, comfortable beds, easy parking. We are in our 60’s, so it is a 12-15 minute walk into town. It would be a flat-out run to do it in 5 minutes! If I had read the description more carefully, I would have realized that the bathroom off the bedroom with the king is not available to the other couple in the room across the hall with the twin beds. They have to go upstairs to use the bathroom on the top floor.

Our Sarlat holiday
Gorgeous period townhouse with lovely garden, pool and terraces.. very nicely decorated and pleasantly furnished .. a coffee table or large footstool would have been nice and possibly an extra easy chair as we were six adults.. a little sparse on the kitchen equipment ie more serving/ baking ie lasagne dishes etc but this didn’t spoil our holiday as we had a fabulous time and Sarlat a wonderful base to enjoy the area and we were a short walk away. Paul and Leanne the owners and our hosts were very accommodating and extremely helpful and easy to communicate with.

Super time in Sarlat!
Communication with Paul was excellent right from booking through to our departure. Paul had lots of info to share with us which was very helpful. . The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have wished for - including ice cubes in the huge fridge freezer which we truly appreciated as we had a week of 30+ temperatures. The kitchen is fantastic - well provisioned with every kitchen utensil and gadget, including condiments, coffee, tea etc. The beds are very comfy and the bathrooms are modern with great showers and water pressure. Parking at the rear of the home was a plus. Location is second to none being an easy 10 minute walk from the town square. The swimming pool is smallish but perfectly adequate, very clean and much appreciated in the heat. Paul and Leanne had left us a delicious bottle of white wine to welcome us and later in the week brought us a gift of another bottle of champagne when they found out we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was nice that the owner, Leanne popped by to see if we needed anything. Would highly recommend without hesitation. It’s probably the best house rental we have had anywhere in the world! Thanks to Paul and Leanne and their two great kids (who made us a happy anniversary card!).

We had a fabulous two week holiday in this lovely property situated in a quiet residential area and a 5 minute walk into the centre of town, and a perfect location for exploring the Dordogne. Sarlat, is a typical French medieval town with lots of cobbled streets and plenty and good restaurants, also a fantastic market twice a week. The house internally is well equipped with everything you need, outside there is a lovely secluded garden with two terraces for eating and a great pool. Our hosts Paul and Leanne were excellent communicators before and during our stay which was very much appreciated. June 22 Dave C

Outstanding stay at Maison Breuil
From the time we stepped through the gate, we were charmed by Maison Breuil. The house is spacious and the two terraces so comfortable for outdoor dining. The kitchen was beautiful, brand new and was extremely well equipped with ample dishes, pots and pans and cutlery. All matching and nicely designed. It was great in the morning to sit around the big kitchen table sipping coffee, and sometimes eating croissants! The house is only a short ten minute walk to the town center with its market and numerous cafes and shops. There is a boulangerie close by on the walk to or from town. A little shop on the edge of town had salad and pate and cheese we would bring home each night for dinner…..everything was so convenient. Paul and Leanne our hosts were so gracious. They came with their two lovely children to say hello the day after we arrived while Paul did a minor repair to the pool step. They told us about life in Sarlat and recommended restaurants and walks in the town and at the market. They also helped organize a taxi for us when we were leaving. They put the heating on in the pool. It was so relaxing to go for a swim after a long day exploring the town. Paul and Leanne paid so much attention to detail….ample storage in each room. Elegant crisp white linens on the beds and modern bathrooms. I can’t say enough about how fabulous our stay at Maison Breuil was. Sarlat is a magical town. I would definitely come back and stay at Maison Breuil again!

2 weeks in Sarlat
I am very pleased to give this property and its hosts 5 stars in all respects. We originally planned to visit for one week in September 2020. Covid scuppered that arrangement but Paul and Leanne kindly agreed to us postponing for a year and also to extending our stay from one week to two. We are so pleased we did. There is so much to see and do in Sarlat and its surroundings that one week would not have sufficed. The property is less than 10 minutes from the medieval centre in a quiet residential area. After morning sightseeing my partner and her daughter took to the pool area whilst I enjoyed quiet time reading in the lounge with a glass of chilled wine with the background noise of the boules clicking from the courts over the road. Paul and Leanne changed the bedding and towels midway through our stay and kept the pool clean without intruding into our stay. In addition Leanne kindly booked us tickets for Padirac Caves when I was having problems with the website. Please take up their recommendations where to visit and where to eat and you will not be disappointed. We found Sarlat to be so delightful that apart from our first night when we arrived quite late we never again had an evening meal in. There are so many excellent restaurants that one is spoilt for choice. On reflection I would recommend any one to stay for 2 weeks if they are able. The only downside to our whole holiday was the trip back from the Tunnel to home - a nightmare. Choose Sarlat and choose this property and you will not regret it.
