Located in landscaped setting on pastoral Shelter Island, enjoy the island lifestyle at this new, completely gut renovated, mid-20th century home with modern 4 bedroom/2.5 bathroom addition and heated, gunite pool. It will serve as both your quiet sanctuary away from city life and a place to entertain. Large deck with skid-resistance Italian porcelain tile, cedar pergola and wrap around patio bench seating for you and your guests. Find easy access to beaches, local cuisine, farmers' markets and seafood shops. Savor the excellent restaurants or make your own home-cooked meals on the 5-burner Jenn-Air gas stove or outdoor gas grill. Full kitchen with all amenities including granite center island with stools; Electrolux Icon refrigerator/freezer, Microwave and Oven, Bosch dishwasher. There is a large capacity washer/dryer off kitchen. Lounge on the large, sectional sofa in the living room with gas fireplace. The house features 2 systems for central heat and A/C with Nest thermostats. Sleeping 8, the bedrooms consist of one King Bed in Primary Bedroom with en suite Carrera marble bathroom; 2 twin beds in 2nd bedroom with full bathroom, shower and tub and 3rd bedroom with comfortable, Queen sleeper sofa. A 4th Bedroom on lower level features a Queen Bed and home office. The lower level also features a kitchenette, living area and ping pong table. A half-bath is off the main kitchen and dining room. Play your favorite songs on 2 Sonos systems in the living room and pool deck. A T-shaped driveway provides ample parking for up to 5 cars. Available Memorial Day to Labor Day and off-season as well, bi-weekly, weekly or monthly. 7- day minimum rental.

Steve’s property was beautiful, super clean, and the pool was perfect. The house is very close to all the top Shelter Island spots. Steve was very responsive to us during our stay. 4 adults, 1 teenager and 2 9 yr year olds had plenty of space. I would absolutely stay here again.

This is a beautiful place with spaces to gather for good conversations or to work or read undisturbed. The kitchen is well designed and equipped; it has a great view of the pool and pergola. The back yard is a perfect place for croquet or other games. The host welcomed us with a delightful tour. The artwork and decor are well done. We were pleased by all aspects of our stay.

Perfect house!
We had a fantastic time at this beautiful shelter island house. The property was amazing with a beautiful pool and very large backyard. The house was decorated perfectly and very clean. A very comfortable and cozy setup for sure. The location was perfect, centrally located so easy access to all parts of the island via bike or car. We can’t wait to go back!

Architect did a superb job renovating and decorating this country home. The owner was always available; pre-check in, at check in, during visit, and after stay. We were impressed with all the supplies available. The house was clean and it was a delight to have a heated pool with complete privacy.

Shelter Island Getaway
To begin with Steve was a very available owner by phone and very responsive. He and his wife made this rental about outdoor living. Beautiful pool area, patio, direct gas BBQ. Sliding doors from all bedroom areas, ample bathrooms. House was presented clean, indoor and outdoor pool area SONOS System was great. Minor negatives were trash had to be brought to Refuge center up the block, the local IGA was expensive ( we brought as much provisions as possible for our stay), beach passes at town hall needed and were $25/ day or 125 for 10 days. Restaurants were fine but expensive and a must need reservation is required. Pleasant island people, quiet. $15 plus $1/person ferry to either Greenport or Shelter Island very efficient. Problem with washer was inconvenient but Steve tried his best for service to the extent that he arranged for a laundry service to pick up and deliver our load of towels. Be warned any service from off the island is difficult to arrange in a timely manner. These were observations from our stay and by no means a negative write up after all we rented with a relaxing island vibe in mind. All in all a relaxing experience.
