Come enjoy Cape Cod, while only steps away from beautiful Drummer Cove in Wellfleet. Relax at home, with bay front views, or venture out to the best beaches on the Cape-- just a mile away! Less than 5 minutes from Wellfleet Center and 20 from Provincetown.

The Space
Charming 1950s cottage just steps from the shores of Drummer Cove. This cozy house is perfect for couples and small family getaways. Relax on the front deck, or in the hammock with beautiful views of the cove and Cape Cod Bay. Indoor and outdoor dining space. Outdoor shower with bay view. The perfect Cape Cod retreat!

The Neighborhood
Drummer Cove is a unique and beautiful bayside community located just outside of Wellfleet center. The cottage is just north of the Audubon's Wildlife Sanctuary and a short drive, bike ride, or walk to the Atlantic side where you can enjoy the incredible dunes, beach, and waves of Lecount Hollow and the Cape Cod National Seashore. On your way back from the beach, enjoy dinner at PB Boulangerie Bistro, one the best restaurants in the area, or drive 5 minutes and you are in charming Wellfleet Center with its many attractions.

We have 2 kayaks with paddles and life vests for guests to enjoy. They are located under the front porch where they are locked. The code to unlock is posted in the one page of instructions on the fridge and in entryway. After kayak use, please rinse off kayaks with the hose located under the house next to the outdoor shower- where you can attach it to the water source. Please leave kayaks locked at all times when not in use.. *WARNING* DO NOT leave on a kayak adventure while the tide is going out or durning low tide. The safest time to set out for a paddle is two hours before high tide. Leaving when the tide going out could result in getting stranded in four feet of mud!!

Getting around
Walking distance to Lecount Hollow beach, short drive to other ocean side beaches. Walk along the shores of Drummer Cove. Wellfleet center is less than 5 minute drive away, Provincetown only 25 minutes, other attractions such as Welfleet Drive-In theater less than 10 minute drive. As a renter you are able to purchase Wellfleet Beach Passes at the town beach office-- we will provide all appropriate paper work.

Should have been better.
Uncontrollable mice issue, even though the property interior was to start, after one night, we knew we were no alone. Mice droppings everywhere, including food preparation areas. Obviously, this is an issue with the property and the owner was aware of it, as he has made attempts to control the issue, electronically, though with no success. We even bought mechanical traps ourselves during week, with no success. What’s the story on the colored water(brown)? Saw multiple used water filters lying on the ground. We have stayed in multiple properties in Wellsfleet and not had this issue previously? We had a good week, but feel the property owner is not telling it like it really is.

Nice house, quiet area
It's a pleasant house, convenient to Route 6. Had everything we needed. Note that the cove is NOT swimmable; deep, sticky mud. The kayaks must be dragged down and then up a steep hill through brush. The only thing that bothered us was about trash disposal. The dumpster is very difficult to open and close, and there was no way to recycle bottles and cans; we were told to just throw them away. (We ended up driving to the National Seashore for its recycling bins.) Otherwise, a nice place with beautiful views of the cove. A huge tom turkey roosted at night in a tree near the house!

Charming cottage with great view
The cottage was very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. lovely view overlooking the cove. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the Adirondacks chair in the late afternoon and before dinner. Really loved the outdoor shower. The host was very responsive to my questions.

Cottage was clean, kitchen was well stocked. The essentials were reliable: great water pressure for shower, kitchen, wi-fi worked well. Check in/out was easy. Nice friendly and helpful neighbors - some are renters, others own their condo in this little neighborhood. The listing and description were accurate: you get what you see. Great location to get to Wellfleet Center, Marconi Beach, short hikes.

A real gem!
We loved our time here at this clean and cozy Cape Cod getaway. Beautiful views and a friendly and very helpful host. I brought my 86 year old Dad with me and he had a great time too! The path down to the water was a little too treacherous for him ( no actual stairs or railing) but he loved sitting on the porch and looking out. I would definitely return. If you want what seems like an authentic Cape Cod cottage, come here- it’s great!

This is a cute, well-furnished summer cottage with a spectacular view of Drummer's Cove. Kayak access at high tide. I enjoyed my stay. A few things might make it even more great such as a more efficient A/C system, and some ant control.

We loved the location right off the tidal flat, it was very peaceful. The space was very good for the price, it feels a little more roomy than the photos suggest. Great to have a little patio, gas grill, hammock, adirondack chairs, and a well appointed kitchen for cooking. Everything was cute and quaint. Great views. Coffee provided. All appliances worked. Close to May hikes and P-town. Sheets were soft with high thread count.Only problem was one of the twin beds was very uncomfortable. If two beds are high end comfortable mattresses the third one should be that too. It was a spring mattress that was very hard.

A Lovely Get-away
The cottage was charming and beautifully located on the cove. We really enjoyed watching the light change on the water and the many birds in the forest and feeding in the cove. The location made it easy to get to our favorite spots on the upper Cape for hiking, biking, dining, and ocean dips.

Not bad for a last minute booking
We were grateful to find this property after our initial plans to vacation in Maine were cancelled due to Covid regulations. It was a cute cottage in a good, central location and having an air conditioner was a plus during a very hot week! BUT, I think is is important to also mention a few things. First regarding kayaking on the cove. We did not. We brought our own kayaks along. But, the trek down to the water is via a very steep embankment and then no clear pathway over the reeds to the waters edge, Also you would be limited to just about 1 hour before to 1 hour after high tide, or else you will be stranded. This made kayaking on site far more challenging than it was worth to us. Next, the cottage is actually part of a cluster of cottages that make up a condominium community, which is quite fine. BUT apparently, RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR DECK IS COMMUNITY SPACE. I was quite surprise our first morning there when I stepped out to the deck (in my pjs with no bra on) to take in the view, and two strangers were sitting in adirondack chairs next to the hammock reading the news paper. As it turns out, they own one of the properties. They were pleasant to talk to and shared some good information (about kayaking and getting stranded...). But is was still uncomfortable when we'd be sitting out on the deck, grilling and talking while these people were sitting 10 feet away from us. Lastly, upon arrival to the property, a truck came barreling in behind us. It was the cleaning people, who were behind schedule, so we had to wait another hour while they cleaned before we could get into the house. A bit disappointing since check in wasn't until 4:00 as is was. I hate to sound negative. With the exception of the property not being clean and ready for us, we could have overlooks the other issues if the listing was more up front about the common space and limitations around kayaking. But because it was not made clear, we felt somewhat mislead. (Whoops, one more thing - listing says there is an iron, but there wasn't one, so don't pack wrinkled clothes like my husband did!)

Over looking Drummer's Cove able to watch the ebb and flow of the tide. Cottage was neat, well laid out and infused with the smell of salt water. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable layout.

Looking for a "ZEN spot"?
My family owned a house in Wellfleet on Mayo Beach for 34 years, which was sold in 2017. I searched for an affordable substitute for my trip "home" and found Drummer Cottages ...it was PERFECT! It is quaint, cozy, clean and the view is surreal. I immediately shared the link/info with other family members that are in the market for future Wellfleet vacation locations. I was sad that my trip was only only for a long weekend... I could have stayed for an eternity!

Simple Cottage In Spectacular Location
Second year in a row at Cove Cottage. For us, an active, slightly older couple, the location could not be better. Right on Drummer Cove with a gorgeous view out to Blackfish Creek, we happily took out kayaks out for beautiful spins with the high tides. The Cottage is simple and basic, equipped with the necessities, cozy and comfortable, with an outdoor shower (with a view!), and a lovely master bedroom loft. Surrounded by nature, quiet, peace, tranquility, and the magic of Cape light and scenery.
