“If you know me, you know I love to explore places that *might* have ghosts, so when the chance to stay at a hotel built in the late 1800's presents itself, I take it. Every time, without question. The Decker may not be haunted, but it is like stepping into the past. The plush red carpet, old wooden details, and Tiffany style lamps accenting the staircase all transport you back to another time. If you ever find yourself in Maquoketa, IA, check out The Decker; it won't disappoint.”
“Staff was very helpful and friendly. That being said, the room was below expected. The stairs to the second floor smelled musty and damp. The room was also musty smelling. The mattress was wore out with a large divet in the middle like I was sleeping in a hammock. The TV was a Roku, the size of a computer monitor with the standard free streaming channels. No cable or antenna. No elevator stairs only. Needs a big upgrade.”
