The attention to detail was very impressive! I especially enjoyed the afternoon tea! Unfortunately the pool and hot tub were closed due to unforeseen circumstances. The complimentary breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had! I would also recommend the spa! My guest and I both had a facial and they were great 👍!

This is a beautiful hotel that recreates a little bit of Ireland in Galena, Illinois! The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a standard room which was clean and the bed was comfortable. True to the theme there is a tea service each day in the lobby. There is an Irish bar and restaurant called Frank O’Dowd’s on the property too. They serve a hot breakfast in the restaurant in the morning that’s included as part of your stay.There is a beautiful library just off the lobby which is perfect to drink tea, read, and relax. Lastly, the hotel is close to both Grant’s home and downtown Galena so you can use the shuttle provided by the hotel or you can drive to these areas in less than 15 minutes.

We were there over the 4th of July. Food in the hotel restaurant was wonderful as well as the performers in the lounge. There was a fiddle player and a guitarist that got the whole crown involved - a great night.

My husband and I planned a spontaneous trip to Galena over a holiday weekend. We were lucky enough to get the last room available at the Irish Cottage Inn. The room was very large and quiet. I don't typically like being on the first floor, but it was very quiet! The bedroom was separate with no windows, so it was a very good night's sleep! I especially appreciate the ample supply of towels in the bathroom! The bar/restaurant was very crowded, but it was a holiday weekend so that is to be expected. It took time for us to get a place to sit at the bar, but staff were very kind and accommodating. The little band was a lot of fun! We ate dinner in town, so we only had breakfast the next morning, which was okay. Overall, there is room for updating but I would hate for it to lose it's Irish charm. We would stay again!

The Fourth of July had limited businesses open and the restaurants we did go to were average at best with very high costs. The hotel would do nothing above or beyond to help commemorate our 25th anniversary. We got ill after the first night and neither Expedia or the hotel would credit the last day so we left anyway because the whole trip became a disaster
