Excellent value for money. Basic accommodation - I booked room only so can't state an opinion on the food. Hotel very well situated, staff friendly, lovely roof top area with plunge pool though able to swim in the sea just 5 minutes walk away too. Comfortable bed and decent shower. 2 lifts and a ramp by the steps - I was using a walking stick so ideal! I intend to book there again next year.

Very disappointed - it is supposed to be a 3 star hotel but in my opinion we paid alot for nothing.. mould , no toilettries, no tv channels, telephone disconnected… nothing to do in hotel .. so disappointed .. would expect more for a 3 star hotel

This is a good clean budget hotel. Extremely clean and functional. Great staff with the exception of Jan who was very unhelpful and rude. I’d return here if on a short break but would look for something less basic if staying in Malta longer.

The accommodations at this hotel are average but we left after one night due to the craziness just outside. If you are looking for a party town this is it. There were party people out and being loud until 05:00. We went there to see the aquarium, which was delightful, and to use as a home base to explore Malta but we were chased out by the load parting which happens just outside. Not a place for a quiet holiday.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel itself although clean was in need of refurbishment. The area is a busy night life area, Noise from people talking/shouting and screaming most nights till 3am one night went on till 4:30. Then the bin men to take the rubbish from 6:30am, one morning it was 4:30am . Didn't get one good nights sleep. Air con was not working for the first few days so had to have the balcony door open.

Dear Sir/Madam, The Hotel is situated in the city centre and yes it is surrounded by bars and restaurants.Regarding noise we have no control in the near bars. Regarding A/C we apologise and yes we had an issue with the chillers and a/c was not in good working conditions.Chillers are now installed and working as it should be.Room were refurbished except the Internal Rooms. we thank you for your review.

Although the listing says there is parking, the hotel has no parking, and there is no available parking anywhere near the hotel. I specifically booked this place because it said parking. When I complained to the staff member, she became rude and aggressive very quickly. The room smelled strongly of mildew.

My first night in the property, the room did not have AC and the staff would not provide a portable fan, so I was not able to sleep at all. The next night, I found out that portable fans were pretty common in most of the rooms, which was further disappointing. Because the AC was broken, I was moved to a room that had working AC - which was my biggest need to sleep. But the room with working AC was so old and full of mold - my lungs at the end of my stay were tight and I couldn't stop coughing for a couple days after. The people next door to me were partying until 2am, making this a very unenjoyable stay.

The property is well situated but lacks in everything else. Their website is dishonest in saying they offer parking. They don’t have a car park. The Aircond is non existent. Everything else is a grab for more money. No indoor swimming pool, as advertised. The shower in our room was falling apart and had broken glass panels. Pictures available.

The property was centrally located and it was easy to come and go. The room itself was relatively updated, however the bathroom was not updated. The "sea view" room only included a sliver of view of the sea from standing on the balcony, which was a surprise and meant that our view was actually of the buildings across the street. If visiting in Malta again, I would not stay here or in this location. The restaurants play extremely loud music until 6AM and the hotel cannot do anything about it. In our 5 night stay, there was not a single night that were were able to sleep through the night without being woken up by loud music and people yelling in the street. While the price was reasonable, we would have gladly paid more for some peace and nearly checked out early to go to a different part of the island.

The hotel is in a great location near to the sea, however the pubs around are very noisy till VERY late after midnight they still open. So no chance to sleep before they then. The mattress could be of a better quality, staff were friendly and helpful.

Good location to bars and restaurants, staff very helpful and polite. Balcony door was very hard to open and felt as though it was ready to come off the runners. Roof top pool was not available during stay. Road works outside of hotel for first two nights which started at 7am and went on until 11pm.

Hotels.com should never recommend this hotel staff friendly room dark & dingy should have had tea & coffee making facilities but didn’t unless upgraded food you wouldn’t give to PIGS we had to go to eat out — morning food was night before scraps ie mash & chips for breakfast yuck fried eggs done in a gallon of oil. For your own health keep away from the restaurant food we certainly would NOT recommend it animals let alone humans we certainly won’t be there again..couldn’t wait to check out & we did early..really spoilt our honeymoon..

Absolutely terrible.
We travel to Malta 2-3 times every year as we have family there. This time we stayed in the “Hotel Primera”, it was more like a doss house. We were moved to a different room after being shown to an absolutely disgusting one. Then told we had to be moved again to a different hotel after 3 days which was almost as bad. None of the hotel booking was anything like the one we booked and paid for through Hotels.com. Never again as absolutely dreadful all round service. Even ‘service’ is too good a word.

This hotel was disgraceful, the pillows were made from chopped pieces of foam, lumpy! The bathroom was old and run down, I would not have booked this hotel if I had seen the condition first. I would rate it below 1 star.

Hotel is central, close to everything you need, just make sure you book a room with a balcony because we didn't and it's 10€ per day if you book after. Bugging is a great place, will go back next year but will book an apartment.

First impression was oh dear really noisy and very busy, glad to be close to the bay thou because the dust in the air was awful . We will not be returning to Malta again .

Regarding dust Malta is between North Africa and Europe so sand from Sahara we experience before summer.It is a pity from such an element of nature had made you think negative about Malta.

Don’t stay this hotel. First night we get there we find out it’s right over the bars so it’s super loud till about 330 in the morning. The staff is horrible and not nice at all very rude. The room looks like jail sell. It’s so old. You have to pay for everything. They have a tv in the room but in order to use it you have to pay: also the safe I locked it thinking that I would just have to put the pin in ... nope... 2€ FOR A KEY TO OPEN. All and all my advice avoid this hotel

Dear K, We thank you for your review,when one makes a booking for a hotel a description of the premises is on all websites and portals. Primera is in the city centre and such noise from outside is beneath our control.The rooms are not as you described as long as you booked an internal room which are the same as others but without balcony (that is why room is cheaper) A charge for the TV is not true either as this is only a deposit for the remote control and it is given back once remote is returned.Safe comes with a charge and this is in all description if you read before you booked.Also on all reviews we always have good comments about staff,we are sorry if you did not experienced this.Our Hotel is full all year round as it is central located and a lot of guests prefer the location.In the meantime we thank you for your review.

This hotel has been amazing. the hotel is always been clean and spotless every time i have entered my hotel room it has been spotless and the members of staff at this hotel have always been welcoming since arrival. I would strongly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and welcoming stay and i would defiantly use this hotel again upon my return back to Malta in the future.

Hotel could do with some renovations. Some front desk staff were very unfriendly, unhelpful and unpleasant. One staff advices that to use the swimming pool will cost €7.00 per client. Therefore restricting the usage of the swimming pools.

Nice hotel for a budget hotel. Basically rooms but OK. The bed was comftable . The evening meal avoid go out. There are plenty of restaurants near bye. Rooms cool with free air conditioning.

At the low end of the 3 star spectrum
As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" although I don't think this hotel is cheap for a 3 star. It looks like money & effort have been spent on the entrance & reception areas but the bedrooms badly need some TLC. Very tatty towels & bedding, the pillows are most uncomfortable & our toilet seat was broken for the whole week we were there. The rooftop pool area looked like it had been abandonned, although the very tiny pool itself was clean, & the lifts are the slowest I've ever encountered. Everything extra, WiFi etc, is chargeable, as they do not provide tea making facilities we paid €1.50 per day for a kettle & they didn't even provide us with cups & spoons. Could not sleep with the window open due to it's close proximity to very noisy bars which do not close until 2 or 3 am. We will definitely never use this hotel again.
