Easter Vacation
We had a wonderful time at the property and enjoyed all of the walking distance attractions. You are so close to the beach and dozens of restaurants and bars. The cottage was a perfect home base for exploring Clearwater Beach. We’ll definitely be returning, this place is a gem!

This 1920’s beach house was gem in a sea of condos and high rises. If your family likes to spend every minute on the beach hunting for shells and sand dollars, this is the place for you!

Great place close to the beach….
Walk everywhere you want extremely convenient to restaurants and the beach! Brought my 2 labs and they had a great time. They are 10 yrs old so the 1 level cottage was perfect. Will definitely stay here again.

Cute Place
The cottage was cute and well-kept. Actually a little bigger than we expected. I feel like better photos could be taken to allow families to know they wouldn't be as cramped as you think you will be due to photos. We were excited to use the hot-tub for our 6 & 8 year old, but once we got there the information was provided that no children under 8 were allowed in the hot tub, which would have been nice to know prior. The backyard area was nice, but unfortunately no one else was out there when we stayed. We were hoping for other families to be there, but obviously couldn't be controlled. Close to the beach, and had sand toys for the kids. My kids loved the pool across the street, but it is not free, you get a discount for staying there. Came out out like $5 for the whole family.

I guess the other guests were all on the beach glad you found our cottage close to the beach and the kids enjoyed all the sand toys we provide. The tickets the pool are free all you need to do is ask for them, but you see it s only $5 for the family when you let them know you are staying with Cottages of Clearwater. All hotels have rules about children not using hot tubs as the chlorine level lis high and its just not recommended. Thank you for staying with us and welcome back anytime Capt AL

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. So close to the beach and great restaurants in walking distance. The cottage was very much our vibe with its unique vintage charm and character. So much better than a hotel room. We would definitely stay there again!

This is very very very overpriced for what you get. Sleeps 7 but so tight you can hardly move. One hot tub was broken, location is just okay. I thought this was beach views and it was not. Not well maintained baseboards dirty not enough pillows so be sure to bring your own and our neighbor next to us said she found a roach in the bathroom. Would not stay here again even if it was half the price.

I am sorry you felt that the pink dolphin cottage was overpriced and tight for 7 people .Although you mentioned one hot tub was broken you failed to mention that your daughter and her non guest boyfriend had a great time every night in the private 2nd hot tub that we offer .Sorry you thought that you were going to have a Gulf of Mexico view while the listing is very clear that it is the 5th house from the beach. My mom taught me if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all and in my 70 years of life I've learned that what you put out into the universe is that what will come back to you Although you did not see any roaches in your unit which was very clean for some reason you felt like you needed to talk about what another guest said she saw but did not in fact confirm. When you write negative and bad reviews you put out negative energy. For future guests we have 2 hot tubs so it's one fails there's another 1 to make everyone happy the housekeeper will bring over anything that you need and if you need anything all you need to do is ask Peace love and understanding Captain AL

Dolphin Cottage
The location of the property is great. Easy walking distance to the beach. The cottage is acceptable and we were comfortable. The property itself is a bit run down, but that didn’t affect our experience. Thank you Capt. Al and Gingerbread!

Perfect Location
Couldn't be happier with our stay. The location was perfect. Close enough that all of the attractions were convenient, but far enough away from the main tourist area that we weren't fighting crowds. We have a 7 month old puppy, and the acceptance of pets was important. The space was cozy with the cottage feel as described. The kitchen had everything we needed. The back yard provided a nice shaded and quiet location for morning breakfast, and an evening cocktail. Best of all I can confirm that the beach is 100 steps away. The staff was attentive and quick to respond and help, wether it was with fresh linens and towels when requested, or to provide assistance when locked out of the unit. Thank you Capt. AL and staff. Perfect Location, eclectec decor, small and cozy
Our family of six (2 Adults, 4 kids) rented this cute cottage for a week to get away from the -3 degree freezing temperatures in Chicago. The decor at the cottage was very eclectic, and we liked that the bedroom had plaid curtains on one window and palm tree curtains on the other window. It had a very laid back beachy vibe. It was not pretentious in the least. We were able to walk to many places to eat within a few minutes. It was easy to walk over to the beach and watch the nightly sunset, since it was so nearby. There was a small patio with a couple chairs right out our back door, which was nice to put the kids out on for breakfast. There was no way that we could have eaten as a family inside the cottage since the kitchen table was very tiny and only had 2 chairs. However, there was a kitchen, stove and fridge, so making a simple breakfast was possible. The cottage was a bit quirky; but in a practical minimalist sort of way. The sleeping situation included a Murphy bed off of the kitchen ( in the room that doubled as the dining room.) and a pull out vintage sofa bed in the living room. When these two beds were open and being used, there was literally only a small path and no other place to move in those two rooms. Not a deal breaker, but I wish I would have realized how close together we were going to be. The staff and Captain Al responded very quickly when we arrived and I had a concern. They went above and beyond to remedy the situation and were friendly at every encounter we had with them.

Amazing vacation!
The cottage was a great location! With 2 little kids it was so easy to walk right down to the beach. The area of the beach wasn’t super crowded. We parked our car and we’re able to walk to everything we did all weekend (gas station for drinks, restaurants, shops, etc.) Capt Al had an amazing selection of beach items we were able to use, which helped with the amount of items we had to bring. The cottage was clean and cute. We didn’t spend much time there because there was so much to do, but we enjoyed the time we were there. Housekeeping stopped and asked if we needed anything. Capt Al walked past a few times and checked in. It was a very welcoming and a fun stay! We are excited to come back!

Great location
The pink dolphin cottage is just steps away from the beach making this a great location. The property was clean upon arrival. The cottage is actually a duplex. I think some of the photos on this listing are actually of the other half of the cottage so it’s just a tad misleading. Also listing says there’s a dishwasher and there is not (didn’t mind this at all just again a little misleading). Otherwise my friends and I had a great stay at the pink cottage! Very cute!

Family Celebration
We reserved the Pink Dolphin Cottage to celebrate our parents 66th wedding anniversary. From the moment we booked Capt Al was prompt in responding to any questions we had prior to our arrival. The check-in process was so smooth and the cottage was very clean. Our housekeeper went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The beach was a hop and a skip away which was perfect since our folks are older. Capt Al had everything from beach chairs to umbrellas and more at no additional cost. We highly recommend this property for a wonderful experience for all. Thank you Capt Al

Unforgettable memories!
There was a slight mishap that I expressed to Caprain AL and him and his staff did an amazing job to ensure we had a good time. They were always available. I was able to see the inside a few cottages and they were both so lovely and cozy. My family and I have some memories and laughs we will never forget. I highly recommend these cottages. Dear Saulo: Sorry you were not happy with the Pink Dolphin Cottage. Not sure why you wrote such a negative review. If there was anything not clean all you needed to do is call or text and the house keeper would have addressed the issue. You were not specific in what you said was not clean and I am quite sure if this really was a one star property you would not have stayed, but you did invite all your friends and family over to use our hot tub every day and they all appeared to have a great time. It is a cottage not a house and with so many family members over you must have expected something larger. What a shame you could not write one thing nice or how much fun your family had being so close to the beach and lucky enough to find a rental on July 4 th week. Please book a 3 bedroom house next time, which is what you really needed. Capt Al

Great Beach Rental!
This was the perfect vacation spot for a family wanting to enjoy beach time. There are tons of sand toys, boogie boards, coolers, and beach chairs that you can help yourself to. If you need anything, just ask and Ginger or Capt Al are great about making it happen! The location was perfect! We parked our rental car the day we got there and didn’t get in it again until it was time to leave because everything was within walking distance.

Easy-going Atmosphere
Our family (my husband and I, our 5 children and two dogs) stayed in the pink dolphin. It was for sure a tight squeeze and we would probably go bigger the next time but everyone had a place to sleep and we spent so little time in the room so it served its purpose. We had an amazing trip and the laid back environment at Clearwater cottages made that a highlight of the trip. Captain Al was easy to communicate with and the housekeeping lady is very sweet and enjoyable to talk to. One thing we really enjoyed was our privacy but the ability to meet new people if you choose also. We met some cool people while staying there. We would absolutely stay there again!

I booked to stay in this property in January. On our flight down I received a message saying that the cottage was double booked and they just caught it, I assumed others paid more so we were odd man out. Luckily they offered us to stay in another cottage for a night but we had to find somewhere else to stay for remainder of the trip. Unfortunately most reviews were true about the dirtiness, we took our socks off to walk around(cause of the sand) & our feet were black as night. We got pizza the night we stayed and grabbed 2 of the dishes out of the cabinet- looked like they still had water on it from being cleaned but they had food particles still on them. Most of the outlets do not work. Aside from that the place was pretty convenient.

Dear Shelby: We are glad you found our staff to be great people and happy you enjoyed the Great Location. We apologize your property was double booked but it was not because of a higher fee and you did realize our rates at the Blue Corner Cottage are very reasonable compared to all the big, new, expensive hotels. Guests are required to wash and put away their dishes, so sorry prior guest did not thoroughly clean, Yes, other guests have commented about the tile floors and although they are mopped with 409 prior to every check in, as soon as you come in from outside you are going to track sand and dirt on the floor. Unless all guests remove their shoes it just the way its going to be at the beach. I mention in every less than stellar review IF YOU WANT MORE CLEANING JUST CALL at time of check in and our GREAT PEOPLE will be there in minutes just mopping away for you. Aside from that we are glad ;you did find the the place pretty convenient. Capt aL

Amazing beach cottage
We absolutely fell in love with this property. It is exactly as it says. It’s cute, quaint and so very close to EVERYTHING. The restaurants and shopping as well as the beach are all within walking distance. We will most certainly be back! Captain Al was very easy to reach. LOVE!!

Perfect for beach days
A very short walk to the beach (plus it is less crowded by being so far north). The downside is that restaurants and attractions are a further walk away; fine for adults, but perhaps less ideal with small kids. I'd recommend having a car unless you are only going to the beach and cooking in/ordering delivery.

Dear Carla. It is unfortunate that you were not satisfied with your rental stay. We understand that you expected much better for $550 for 1 Friday night on a weekend during high season. It is a cottage not a house and perhaps small. 850 square feet. I really doubt that it was a little dirty as my housekeeper's do an excellent cleaning job . Your complaints about not having batteries in the remote although there are extra remotes in the unit and hot having enough pillows should not warrant a 3 star review . If you read the welcome package line one says if you need anything anymore housekeeping or linens a housekeeper will come right over W e leave extra remotes for the TV's our air conditioners are all set to economy mode run 24 hours a day that is why you never smell mold or mildew in our cottages but you must set them to cool if you want them to stay on continuously. So much of your dissatisfaction stems from not reading the welcome manual. It's unfortunate that you had absolutely nothing nice to say or provide any positive comments . You should be very happy you were able to find a house for one night on a weekend peak season 100 Steps from the beach. What you put out into the universe is what will come back. peace love and understanding Captain Al

I am sure you meant to rate the house FIVE STAR , not one but we get it that the Staff were so accommodating the location was so close to the beach and there is not a lot of traffic in the Cottages of Clearwater District. Cool little getaway cottage
This was a perfect, little cottage for a weekend getaway. So close to the beach and we walked everywhere! We had some of the best food and drinks right in walking distance.

3 day beach trip with friends
Pictures are exactly the way it appeared. The cottage was very clean, great location (100 steps from the beach as stated in description), and lots of character. Captain Al was quick to respond.

Excellent beach house with an excellent location very near clearwater beach
My 1.5 month stay at this property was well Worth the money. Capt Al is friendly and quick to help when help is needed. The house is well maintained and bicycles and other amenities readily available.

Capt Al and his wife were lovely. Pink Dolphin was just as described, location is amazing. We will be back, if they will have us. Oh and perfect for dog families, walking distance to dog beach!

One night stay in Clearwater
It was a nice little beach house. Location was what I wanted. A short walk to the beach and a couple block walk to the heart of downtown. The cottage was quiet and relaxing. The only thing that was hard for my family was staying there with six people was a little small. Captain Al was very easy to work with. Thank you!

Clearwater Beach
Nice property with many amenities to make your stay enjoyable. We stayed in the Dolphin cottage which was cozy and clean. Would recommend for no more than 2 adults and 2 children. Can sleep more but would be very crowded. Capt Al, the property owner is very accommidating and helpful.

Cute quaint cottage
LOCATION PERFECT FOR COUPLE GETTAWAY! Clean, Quaint, and had everything we needed for a 3 day getaway. Capt Al was easy to deal with,, very quick with responses, and very accommodating. Ginger, the house cleaning lady, was very prompt getting us any cleaning or trashbags. Loved the back deck, which this is the only cottage facing the community back yard that had one. Wife loved this birthday gettaway 100 steps and your on the beach. The appliances are dated but functional. The only issue we had was the stove which needs to be replaced, but was able to use grills outside. Within 10 min walk to many restaurants.

We arrived late and was happy to find the key where the property manager said it would be. However, when we got into the cottage, it did not look as if it had been cleaned. There was coffee left in the coffee pot, The stove top was dirty, only one wash cloth in the bathroom and he knew there were three of us, trash was behind the end table, no internet as promised, no remote to the television so no tv. After walking around barefoot for less than 30 minutes, our feet were black from the dirty floor! Due to COVID-19, we expected the cottage to be thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. We actually used our own Clorox wipes to wipe everything down. The common area described looked like it had not been properly taken care of in a long time. It was covered with leaves and debris. We tried to tell Capt. Al the next morning about how dirty the cottage was, but he didn’t want to listen and actually walked away from us. We didn’t feel comfortable staying in the cottage, so we made other arrangements. After, we let Capt. Al know we had left, he then brought the housekeeper back in to clean and he fixed the tv. The WiFi did get fixed before we left. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable place to vacation, this is not it!

Dear Sharon: It is unfortunate that you felt the house was not as advertised, so here are the talking points. 1. You did arrive very late at night and could have used the TV and Internet if you only read the welcome pack which explains how both operate or even called me for help. I understand it is frustrating when you do not know how to operate the Spectrum remote control. 2. I personally inspected the rental prior to your arrival and looked like a very complete cleaning. I missed the full coffee pot the house keeper made for herself, however there was the guest coffee pot right next to it and clean. 3. We did bring you a big bag of wash cloths after you requested them the next day. 4. All floors are mopped with 409 or similar sanitizer. We hear about dirty floors some times because we are at the beach and the minute you walk in you will track sand into the house, however if you read the welcome guide the first sentence if you want any more cleaning, we will send the housekeepers over. 5. The recreation area is a tropical Key West style back yard with massive old florida trees and leaves fall every day. The listing is so clear that it is not a manicured or landscaped property like you find at a resort. There are lots of photos . It is a nautical themed Old Florida recreation where Capt Al used old boat parts, engines, signs to let guests know there at the beach and not the Ritz or Hilton. 6.As a rule when I encounter Guests who are rude to me, or treat me like the Cabana Boy, I walk away. Guests who enjoy an easy going vacation and treat me with respect usually have the best vacation ever I do everything possible to insure they have a great time, from free trips on my boat, use of my bicycles or E bikes and all kinds of free perks. What you put out into the Universe is what comes back to you, and myself and my staff are all about promoting positive energy. Thanks for letting future guests know that the next day Capt Al brought the house keepers back to clean more, fix the TV and did get the WI FI working, which it all did, but not for you. Making disingenuous remarks like this , or a one star review, or not as advertised is promoting bad energy. If this was a one star property you would not have stayed over night. There are over 500 FIVE STAR review on this property on the internet..and every VRBO review is 5 Stars For future guests pleases read the online description as we are an Old Florida property fully remodeled and perfect for fun loving, not so fussy guests . We are glad you had a great beach vacation and thank you for your 5 star review my housekeeper or myself make sure every air conditioner works and every TV works prior to every guest checking in all you needed to do was text or call me. The welcome manual says that if you cannot figure anything out kindly text manager and we would have been over to show you how to operate the air conditioners . For future guests please read the welcome manual which gives very detailed instructions on how to operate anything and if you need any assistance we were just minutes away Captain AL and Karen
