Excellent choice for a weekend away

Came for a fly fishing trip and loved every minute. The food at the pub is excellent and the rooms are very nice. Gorgeous garden and very well located for fishing, walks into Stockbridge, and generally enjoying the countryside. Staff was very helpful as well and arranged a pre-made lunch for us to take for our day on the water.

Fabulous food and service at this welcoming pub!

We were very impressed with the Peat Spade Inn, especially as every room is dog friendly. All the inside areas and the patio outside were very nicely presented. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom and a fridge in the wardrobe. Plenty of biscuits to go with your complimentary tea/coffee and fresh milk each day.The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. I am very fussy about cleanliness and felt that there were a few too many hairs in the room and bathroom for my liking. I don't like very soft pillows either and there was no choice. We liked the Dyson fan which was very welcome as the nights we stayed were very warm and the quilt was a winter weight one. Locally, the village of Longstock is very pretty with lots of thatched cottages and the whole area had plenty to see and do and lots of walks available. A beautiful area for a short break or a longer stay. Family who live reasonably nearby visited us there and were impressed enough to say they might do an overnighter there.
