We stayed 3 nights at the Intercontinental. The property itself is a bit tired but well-maintained. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Grounds were well kept. Amenities were very good. My husband and I each got a massage at the spa. The massage was good.
Food and restaurant options were adequate. Our only complaint was inflexibility to substitute items in the menu. For example, I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular with my fish sandwich and was told those only come with the deluxe burger - "Really?". One evening, they allowed me to substitute Quinoa for rice in the poke dish, but the next night, my husband was denied quinoa with his fish that was served with coconut rice. Food and beverage charges seemed very high to me and this was confirmed when we dined off property.
The staff worked hard to mitigate language barriers and were generally very welcoming and accommodating.
