An above-average business hotel near Ikebukuro JR station. The basic rooms are pretty small, but the larger two-twin bed rooms and two-twin couch rooms are closer to what you might expect in a European or American budget hotel. Location is convenient, but definitely still has a touch of the red-light-district after dark. Still very safe though. Denny's downstairs is convenient for tourists but I beg you, do not eat there, there are two dozen better options within 5 minutes walk.

I have stayed here about 9 times now. The property is heavily used and slightly run down. It’s an average hotel with average priced rooms. The location is very convenient though which is why I stay here. The bathrooms often times have a sewage smell to them as there seems to be an issue with the venting in the building. Almost every room I’ve stayed in in this building has this issue.

The room is typically small like most Japanese hotels, however, it was clean. Elevators were quick. Location cannot be better. Staff very friendly.

Hotel near to train station. Lot of eateries within walking distance. Conveience store at the bottom of hotel building. Restaurant in the building so convenient when late check in. Laundry facilities available. Super King room was good size room for 2 adults and 1 child with extra bed.

Centurion Hotel Ikebukuro is conveniently located a few minutes from the station and boasted one of the best hotel bed pillow sheet combinations I have had the pleasure of using. Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Unfortunately the downsides aren't things that can easily be fixed, so please do be aware. For one, at least in my room, the bathroom was a fairly large step up from the floor, which meant that it was both more difficult to get into and also more hazardous to exit. The second is that the lobby is on the third floor, and with only two elevators, it is possible that you will need to wait. A lot. Still, if I were to stay in the Ikebukuro area again, I would choose this hotel in a heartbeat. Weatherproof access to a restaurant and convenience store definitely help. Do also note that there is a back entrance that is very convenient for accessible the popular tourist destinations in the Ikebukuro area.

The location of this place is great for shopping and accessing the train station, plus the staff are very friendly. The hotel room appears to be clean and well-maintained, with a spacious toilet that is also clean and hygienic.

This place was amazing! So many things nearby. The hotel itself was very clean and nice. Staff was so friendly. I liked that there was a 711 downstairs. As well as going to Denny's downstairs on our checkout day. They let us check in early! Then on checkout day, they held our luggage for us so we could explore the area during that gap between check out, and checking into the next hotel. Laundry was easy and great. I can't think of anything to complain about except maybe I wish we got 2 room keys. It'd have been nice to keep a key in the spot it goes in, and then I would've had another key to go down and smoke while my girlfriend was still in the room, but maybe sleeping or unavailable to open the door for me. Otherwise 0 complaints, and even that is nitpicky.

It was an easy check in process. I arrived early around 11:30 am and they held my bags - I actually did not get back until 11:00 pm & placed them in room for me. The room was nice & actually had 5:00 PM flight and they held my bags for couple hours when I left in morning & arrived in early afternoon

We have been stayed in this hotel many times. It is good location. Some staffs are able to speak English. Room size is not really big but it is ok. Very closed to JR station. Will stay again if we go to Tokyo next time.

I felt this place was outdated and it felt wobbly. The tv was so old it had no hdmi connection to plug in an Amazon firestick. There was no 3 prong outlet for laptop. I paid extra for early check in because I felt uneasy about leaving my luggage in the lobby. Everything was just kinda dingy and dated. Bathroom was wobbly I felt like I was on a ship. Toilet amenities were accessible in the lobby and not in the room. They charge for coffee which I’ve not experienced that before I went down the road for coffee and breakfast. Nothing was in English at this hotel. Only stay here if you plan not to be in your room long at all.

I recently stayed at the Centurion Hotel Ikebukuro and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel's biggest advantage is its prime location near Ikebukuro Station, making it incredibly convenient to explore Tokyo. With multiple train lines intersecting here, getting around the city was a breeze. Aside from its transportation perks, the surrounding area offers plenty of entertainment options, from department stores to a variety of restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, even at night, as the neighborhood felt safe to explore. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, and despite the language barrier, we were able to communicate with each other well enough in English to navigate through basic interactions. It was reassuring to know that even as a non-Japanese speaker, I could still manage to convey my needs and inquiries effectively, and for everything else, the use of a translation app served my purpose. However, if it is important to you, it's worth noting that the building is showing signs of age, with some visible wear and tear such as water stains and patched wallpaper. Nevertheless, the rooms were clean and comfortable, providing excellent value for the price. Overall, the Centurion Hotel Ikebukuro offers an excellent value for travelers looking for convenience and affordability in Tokyo. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family and found it to be conveniently located near shopping areas with plenty of dining options. It's just a 5-minute walk to the train station, making it easy to explore the city. The hotel is safe, clean, and the staff is friendly. The only downside is that the rooms are quite small. Despite requesting a larger room, none were available due to the holiday season. However, the on-site Denny's restaurant on the 2nd floor served delicious and reasonably priced food throughout the day. Additionally, having a Family Mart on the ground floor was convenient for visitors.

Pros: convenient location, 7-11 downstairs, laundry machines on reception floor. Cons: 1) anyone can walk into the main entrance and take the elevator to all floors without using key card 2) room needs updating, dirty walls, only 2 plugs to use, dust gave me a rash, no luggage rack 3) smaller shower compared to other hotels at the same level, we are petit size people and our arms kept touching the shower curtain during shower 4) as a frequent traveller to Japan (multiple times a year), this hotel is only average in terms of customer service, majority of the staff are amazing except for one lady at the reception with attitude. We were told that each day we would get 2 bottles of water, which we had to ask for them every day from the reception desk. One day we asked for 4 bottles because we didn't go get them the day before (the reception is on a different floor as the main entrance), we asked nicely and explained that to the lady at the reception, first she had a smirk on her face and asked us for room number, then she kept shaking her head with an attitude, walked away, came back and placed the bottles loudly infront of us and said "you are not supposed to but happy new year" with an annoyed tone. If I knew I had to feel like I'm begging for bottled water, I would have gone to the 7-11 downstairs and buy them instead. This is not the Japanese standard of customer service. It was my first and the last time I stayed in this hotel as there are many better ones to choose from.

The hotel is very close to the JR station and the Yamanote line thus travelling by train to Shibuya or Shinjuku is quite easy. The facitiy is a bit older but the room is relatively roomy. Laundry is available but the drier takes forever to drive the clothes so be prepare. Overall a very pleasant stay and will book again if we are back in Tokyo.

Very near to Ikebukoro station with lots of shopping and dining options around. Denny's restaurant and a convenient store are I'm the same building. Staff speak good English. A bit dark in the room, and only found 2 electrical outlets (1 in the toilet and another above the bed). You can collect the amenities you need from the reception area (3rd flr) and bottled water provided during my 3-day stay. Generally clean and more spacious than many Tokyo hotels in the same range. Overall, a comfortable stay.
