Excellent stay! Beautiful location. We were amazed to see the southern Aurora lights..what an experience!! We also enjoyed talking to the highland cows right next door. Will definitely be back.

We all had a wonderful night at the Cattle Stop. Even the rain didn't dampen our time. Loved all the cattle decor. Bug zapper or flyspray would be a good addition to supplies, as we had the windows open while we were cooking tea and we were invaded. In the mornings the fantails must have known as they came the house for a visist and feast.

Peaceful farm stay with beautiful outlook
We had a great stay on the farm at Turakina. We ended up staying in the Sheep's Retreat instead of Cattle Stop after a booking mix up which our host sorted out for us quickly and professionally. The location is outstanding, with beautiful views, clear night skies and wildlife to watch from the deck. The house is well equipped, especially the wood burner with plenty of fuel at the ready. Really appreciated the fresh coffee and breakfast supplies. We would love to stay again and share the place with more friends.

Great wee cottage
What a wonderfully peaceful spot. The lovely cottage had everything we needed and we enjoyed seeing the cattle, both pictures and toys, wherever we turned. A nice touch.

We had the best time at the Cattle Shed! Beautiful surrounds, gorgeous highland cows, and a lovely spacious and character-filled cottage for our family of 4. Everything we needed for a great long weekend, and highly recommended as a base to explore the region.

Nice stay off the beaten track
Julie's place is a nice, quiet place to stay. The property was very clean, well supplied and furnished, and easy to find from the road, with plenty of on-site parking. Julie's communication was good throughout and we had everything we needed when we were staying. Definitely recommended to other travellers.

Our family had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at this nice property, surrounded by pastures and hills. It was very clean and roomy. Our hosts were very responsive and provided excellent information about the house and the area. It was a great value for the price.

Escape the City
We are a family of four, with two children aged 12 and 9. Booked a weekend away to have some a R and R. Came very close to requesting a third night as we loved our stay so much. Limited TV and no cell coverage. Perfect place to unplug, unwind and soak up some energy from the elements. It was rainy so we spent time cooking (great kitchen facilities), playing cards, stoking fire, watching DVDS from range on offer, sleeping (v comfy and warm.beds) or enjoying each other's company. Cool walk through paddocks when the mood took us. Would totally stay again.
